B Side Pizza & Wine Bar

Probably my favorite casual spot for a glass of wine and riposte. Kale salad shines. Pizza is superlative. Very friendly wait staff. I like the wines they have on tap– great way to demystify an intoxicant that has become unnecessarily chi-​chi.
I don’t like the location as its a touristy part of town but I will and have made a trip here just to eat at B side.
The city needs more places like this.

There are three reasons I Iove this pizza pIace.
I) Pizza’s are deIicious esp. KILLER BEE
II) The pizza is H O T upon deIivery
III) Ingredients are fresh, crust is not too thick or too thin and there are Iots of choices.

Great romantic ambiance, or a chill spot to go with a friend. They played throw back 90s jams all night, which was fun. We got broccolini, and it was delicious! It was covered in cheese and olive oil, so good. We weren’t too thrilled about the red wine selection, but turns out no where in New York seemed to have good red wine. We ordered the pizza that comes with chorizo and garlic on top, and it was like nothing I had ever tasted before. It was delicious! We had to wait 15 mins, which was worth it to us! We also sat at the counter which worked just fine.

5 stars because excellent pizza and awesome waiter, but it was absolutely freezing in there, good thing we had our jackets. Great place will definitely go back!

Holy shit balls. This place:
The starters light and fresh. The meat feast pizza is nothing short of a mouthgasm of the highest order. The freshest of ingredients compliment each other in a vicious manner, leaving your taste buds spent and shaking in the corner. The smoky flavouring and the delicate crust will leave you begging for more. The Parmesan finish adds another level to pure heaven.
Special mention to the servers for being extremely courteous and helpful, and going above and beyond to help plan the perfect week. The level of care and attention we received left us feeling loved. The open face of the bar is a people watchers dream and the music offers an ambiance of cool that could melt the coldest of hearts.
I, thoroughly unashamedly, wholeheartedly confess, that this was, in fact, the best pizza I have ever eaten in 35 years on this planet. Phe-​Nomi-​Nomi-​nal.

I came here during fleet week and of course I had to have some New York pizza! After searching around we found this quaint little place. Beautiful location, relatively small. It’s perfect for a date night or groups of 3 – 4. I decided to try the Killer Bee and my friends got the Marge and the Spicoli.
Killer Bee — tomato, mozzarella, sopressata, garlic purée, chili oil, and honey. Holy crap. This is without question, the best pizza I’ve ever had and I’ve had pizza in Italy. It was hard for me to even let a single piece go for my friends to try it!
Marge — tomato, mozzarella, oregano, basil, sea salt, with added prosciutto.
Spicoli — tomato, mozzarella, roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, parmesan.
I didn’t get to try either of the other pizzas but my group said that they were absolutely incredible as well!
One more awesome thing about this place is that you can actually watch them hand make your pizza if you sit at the bar! It was a great experience and the staff was very friendly and professional. I cannot recommend it enough.

We got 2 pizzas for take out: the Margarita pizza and the Spicoli.
Food: It was pretty good. It’s a thin pizza. Not a huge fan of the crust because it was a pretty large portion of the pizza and really hard (crispy), which I’m not a huge fan of. I personally didn’t like the Spicoli but if you like a lot of mushrooms and onions, you’ll like it.
Interior: It’s cute, and airy. They open the window walls facing the street when the weather is nice so it feels fresh. The store is too crowded (7pm on a weekday) though and it’s hard to get to any table without bumping into someone. You also need to track down a waiter yourself if you want to put your name down for a table.
Service: We ended up having to wait longer than we were told for our pizzas and the waiter wasn’t very friendly or helpful. It seemed like they only had one waiter at 7pm and one bartender for the whole restaurant. We had to ask for our pizzas multiple times, even after we saw it was ready and sitting in a box on the counter. While we were there, there was a group that had been waiting for a table longer than they were told that asked how much longer it would take. When asked, the waiter used swear words to describe how slow the customer at a certain table was eating and blamed it on them. This is unprofessional no matter what.
Will probably be back to try the food in the restaurant, but want to try somewhere else for takeout pizza next time.

This high top hangout is a cute date spot with small groups and probably the best pizza in NYC. We love Marta but this is comparable without the price tag or pretentious crowd.
We tried the two meat heaven pizzas below:
El puerco loco — mozzarella pancetta taleggio Parmesan pork sausage pickled chiles
Killer bee — mozzarella sopressata garlic purée Chile oil honey. OMG AMAZING!
Crust was flavorful itself and I never eat the crusts. The woodfire oven char hit the spot without overpowering the flavors.
The tomato base was sweet and fresh. We will be back to try all others. Delicious !

Nice personal sized brick oven pizzas. Gourmet combinations of toppings. Modern décor not your typical pizzaria.

Now granted most things taste great when you’ve had some alcohol, but this pizza was something to write home about. The crust was fantastic; a great crunch with every bite. We ordered the Don Ho, which had prosciutto and pineapple, a real good twist to the OG pineapple and ham. The mozerella was fresh and not too overpowering.
A fancy pizza in New York. A good choice if you’re looking for something different from the street pie.

Places to return to!
Really tasty Pizza. The salad was fresh, appeared simple but it was very well prepared!
I didn’t really care for my dessert, but my friends Tiramisu was so good! The industrial-​cozy décor of the place is cool and the lighting was inviting that cold evening.

The pizza here was fantastic and I’d definitely recommend to others and return here another time. The staff was also great.
We tried The Guido and I was a bit worried because it said it had peppers on it and I am nto a big fan of bell peppers. These, were fine, though! Not too many of them and not overpowering.
I don’t normally eat my crust, unless it’s really good, and I found myself eating the crust here — so much so that I couldn’t even fit a full beer in afterward because I was so full, lol.

Good coal oven pizza. I would recommend the pizza with honey (Killer Bee I believe) it is a weird combination but it goes well together.
I would come back if I need to eat in the area. The wait to get in is LONG though

Awesome NYC style pizza with the ambiance needed for a Friday night date. You dont need to travel far off the UWS or Hell’s Kitchen finally to get this!
Hypes:
— I’ve been to this place 3 times craving some legit NYC pizza. Its fresh, thin, crispy, and each type I’ve tried so far is a delicious flavor explosion in my mouth.
— Killer B — its like Roberta’s Bee Sting if youve ever had it. A must get.
— The Guido and Carbonara also I have liked a lot. Each pizza has its own flavor. The egg on the Carbonara actually makes the pizza craveable.
— Roasted Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts
— Black Kale appetizer (definitely get!)
— The atmosphere is hip, comforting, and cozy. Its great for a date night or night out for four people.
Gripes:
— Wasn’t a fan of Oscar the Grouch. Although I love anything healthy and vegetarian, The other pizzas made my night.
— come when it’s not crowded especially if you have a baby!

I’m surprised this place does not have 5 solid stars. The pizza is fresh with the best ingredients. The oven is large, and they get your pizza done in minutes.

Thanks Unilocaliverse for not leading me astray! I’ve had B Side on my bookmarks list for a while now, and finally tried it for dinner this weekend. We had the meatballs, the black kale salad, and the pizza with chili, honey and soppressata. Everything was delicious. It’s a small restaurant not built for big groups, so next time I would just go with one other person. We were a group of 4 and were seated along the window, so it was a little tough to hear each other.
Tip for B Side: if you would text or call someone when their table is ready, that would be a really welcome addition.

The Killer Bee pie is some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Literally AMAZING. It’s an absolute must if you come here.
I came here to grab dinner with my cousin. Since all of the pies are 12″ (six slices), we were going to get one to split and then a few appetizers on the side. However, none of the appetizers were really too appealing to us, so we decided to go big and get two pies to share. We got the Killer Bee and the Spigoli, but I wish we had gotten two of the Killer Bee! So freakin’ good. The Spigoli was good too, but nothing compares to the Bee. It’s apparently their most popular pie.
On another note, this spot is so so cute. It’s very intimate and offers an authentic NYC pizza experience!

I was craving some NYC style pizza and decided to check this place out based on all the Unilocal reviews and I must say it did not disappoint!
The place has a cool rustic feel with wooden tables and seating. The pizzas are cooked in front of your face (depending on where you sit) in a brick oven. We ordered The Guido which consisted of the traditional sauce and mozzarella cheese as well as a garlic sauce, green olives, tomato, sopressata, and peppers. The pizza was delicious! The garlic sauce mixed in with the regular sauce paired so great with the rest of the ingredients. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked.
The service was great. The waiter was helpful and friendly and our food came quickly. I would definitely return to this place to try the Honey B!

My family and I were dying for a New York style specialty pizza for lunch. We decided to walk over from Times Square and give B Side Pizza & Wine Bar a try. We absolutely loved it! It was such a fun and charming restaurant! Plus, there was a sign outside that said «Walk-​ins Welcome» with a picture of Christopher Walkin. I enjoyed it.
I expected it to be a traditional New York pizza place with a display counter of different slices, which I love. However, I was very surprised when we walked in! It is a sit down restaurant! It is well lit and quite nicely decorated. I loved the layout! There is a full bar and brick pizza oven in the center of the restaurant surrounded by a marble top bar. There are also a bunch of high top tables with hard wood booth seating. The ceiling lights are also super cute!
The menu is awesome– so many specialty pizzas, appetizers, salads, desserts, and a great cocktail/​wine menu! We started with the Crushed Fingerling Potatoes with pancetta, scallions and crème fraîche. They were so good! We ate them like potato chips.
As our entrees, we split three specialty pizza pies. It was VERY difficult deciding which three to order because they all sounded so good and unique! We ended up ordering «The Muscles From:» (brussel sprout leaves, pancetta, ricotta, garlic, topped with a fried egg), the «You Got a Lot’ a Balls:» (tomato, mozzarella, meatballs, oregano &peppers), and the «Killer Bee:» (tomato, mozzarella, sopressata, garlic purée, chili oil and honey). All three were delicious– perfect New York crust! I did slightly prefer the Killer Bee. The honey drizzled on top was absolutely delicious.
It is definitely one of my favorite pizza places I’ve ever been to. I would definitely go back to try the other pies. Plus, who doesn’t love a good glass of wine with their pizza?

As a tourist in NYC, one of the most important things for me to find was good pizza. There are lists everywhere and everyone has their opinion. However, I didn’t have Tim’s to zip all over Manhattan and Brooklyn to find pizza. My wife and I ended up in this place around 10 pm on a Saturday night in December after seeing great Unilocal reviews. It was close to our hotel in He’ll’s Kitchen, so we went for it.
We had no problem getting a seat at the bar and enjoyed delicious wine along with the carbonara pizza. The service was great and I really like that the pizza making is out in the open.
Top notch. I think with wine we ended up getting out around $ 30.
