A good, cheap, casual rice and noodle place on Grand Street. This place gets a lot of foot traffic but it goes quick so don’t be deterred by a seemingly crowded restaurant. On a cold winter day, I decided to get the combination noodle bowl which included some weird things that I myself am not certain of. I believe it was some kidney, liver and a fish ball. The soup was very flavorful and you can add some hot sauce to it which further complemented the soup. My friend got the chicken curry dish and I liked that even better. The curry was super flavorful, full of that thai curry taste, amplified by the coconut milk. It also came with eggplant and potatoes. Both dishes were only $ 6 and I left pretty full. I would definitely be interested in going back and trying their other dishes.

I changed my mind from Average to Awesome review. Previously I thought this place was OK place to come for food. But after eating the Beef stew Ho Fun noodle soup I changed my mind. It’s good very good, it’s gotten my attention. Now I am going to come back to this place to try out for more hidden choices. My friends also told me that you need to order things in certain ways to get the best of the food taste and if you don’t then you may think this place is ok and misjudge this place like I previously did… Please do not make the same mistake as I did and try to find out which are the hidden food setup. I wish I could write it down but unfortunately it is extremely hard for me to translate from spoken Chinese into English…:(

The food are delicious here. Their famous country duck meat is really really good on rice or noodle. Services are great too, especially the owner. Food arrives fast too, very little waiting time. Classic Chinatown restaurant feel. It’s missing one star from me because it needs some remodeling work done.

I’m not gonna lie, the«mystery meat» is one of my favs. I’m not that daring, but I feel damn confident every time I get this order in!

I order the wonton noodles with soup on the side along with the grilled lemon grass pork chop on rice. The grilled lemon grass pork chop came first within minutes. I find that kind of weird since the noodles usually come first. After waiting about 10 minutes the noodles came and soup on the side. When I started tasting the noodles I find it not really flavorful unlike the other times I had it. Then when I taste the wontons, it was not good because it feels like it has been out for a while and the skin that was wrapping the wontons feels very thick and sticky. I did not finish it. I don’t think I will go back for that dish again.

Great food away from home. This place is great, for the price awesome! Back in LA is 10x better, but hey. I can’t complain.

To be honest, their food is good. Service and attitude? Probably the most unattractive thing about the restaurant. Who takes and order and doesn’t look at you?

This is one of the closest nearby places I get lunch when I’m at work. The soups noodles are made really quick so it doesn’t make a difference if you call to order or directly go there. They don’t make your order until you are there. The taste of the food is decent. I really like the Country Style Duck. The reason I give this Bo Ky 3 stars is because whenever I order lai fun(a kind of noodle) with the duck, they only give you like four skinny pieces of the duck so it’s not very fulling. They are also very cheap on their noodles too and would use a big portion of bean sprouts. Normally I prefer buying half of the duck for $ 9.75 and me and my co workers would share and just get a plain noodle. The cashier(chubby woman) always get our order wrong.

One of my favorite spots in Chinatown for some comforting noodle soup. Whether you order to go or to dine in, the food here is always prepared with quickness and requires minimal wait time. Besides the unavoidable carbohydrates that come with every plate, I find the dishes here to be rather healthy, especially their noodle soups and vegetables. I usually go for the Cambodian, seafood, or beef stew noodle soups, the latter being my favorite. A plate of green leafy vegetables normally accompanies my meal, as they prepare it with very little oil but yet the dish is packed with flavor and greens possess crispiness. I can’t give this place 5 stars because it easily categorizes itself as «just another restaurant in Chinatown.» Service is decent with no attitudes whatsoever, even friendly I must say … but the ambience is plain and unworthy of mention with poor lighting. Dishware can also be upgraded. One thing I noticed as well is this one overly tanned man is always there when I visit, sitting by the table directly across the cashier, chatting away with … I’m not quite sure whom. I’m not bothered by him, nor the lacking décor or dishware, but objectively speaking, those areas can be improved. Having said that, for as long Grand Bo Ky sticks around, it will be one of my go-to spots for some quick Asian comfort food.

Well, here are the pros… they are fairly quick. It is CHEAP. And they can host a huge group in little time. Food is acceptable, but nothing memorable. Will come back if along for the ride. Here are the cons: There’s probably a 50% chance at least one person at your table will get something he or she didn’t order. Don’t ask what distribution I’m using. :D. Staff is nice enough for chinatown, but they are by no means friendly. Place could also feel cleaner…

Another great restaurant on Grand Street. If I’m not mistaken, they don’t have any deep fried dishes. So for those who prefer something healthier, this is a good option. I highly recommend any of the phở soups. If I really had to decide, I would chose the number one option. Another dish I recommend is the roast country duck. The flavor is something that even the best chicken in NYC cannot beat. Definitely try the duck. It is a must. And like most places in Chinatown, the prices are awesome.

Whenever i’m in chinatown and craving for some hot noodle soup. This is the place to go! I always get the seafood noodle soup and a side order of the duck. The duck is really good esp with their sauce. The ladies here are nice and never gave me trouble whenever i went. Their rice dishes are also very good.

I have passed Grand Bo Ky many, many times but never opted to try it out until earlier this Fall. This location is a lot cleaner and brighter than the other location. The service is even a lot better, but my only complaint is that there’s no décor and the seats are a Ceaner and brighter than the other location. The service is even a lot better. It’s definitely a good and cheap place to come for brunch/lunch. My boyfriend ordered the Country Duck with Flat Noodles and Mushrooms. The broth was really tasty, but it looked really oily compared to the noodle soups we have had the Bayard Street location. I ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup which also looked very oily, but the broth was really savory and yum. The wontons were meaty and delicious. The noodles were cooked to al dente. Overall, I liked the service and the staff here. The noodles were decent, but the oily broth is a bit of a turn off. I would like to give this restaurant another shot and maybe try one of their rice dishes instead.

When I want to have lunch in chinatown I love to go to Bo Ky! This is their newest location. The old location is near the baskin robins. This place is supposedly new but it’s still quite not that clean. Considering they probably just took over the place with not a lot of renovation. They serve really good low country duck! It’s their specialty! This place is known for their duck and the special type of noodles. This time I ordered something off from what I always order. I ordered the curry beef stew soup with the special type of noodles. Is thicker than maifun but thinner than horfun! I love the sauciness of this noodle dish, very flavorful. My friend ordered the low country duck over rice which comes with radishes and pickled carrots! I love that they have this on the side, because duck can get gamey. If you ever need a quick lunch spot, come here and get a good comfort food meal. Bring cash!

We were surprised to check out this Hong Kong style restaurant located in Little Italy. We had curry chicken noodle and Cewshan style beef stew noodle. Coconut milk was added into the curry, not spicy but sweet and fresh. Soup was fresh and pure! Hmm I’d love to return every week. Nice price and nice boss and waitress.

Excellent quiet atmosphere. I always go for the Seasoned Pork Hand Pork Chop Rice Beef Tripes Half Duck Fried Spring Rolls Choy Sum They have excellent service-almost as good as it gets in Chinatown. And yes the management is different than it is on Bayard St, though the quality of food is similar and seems cleaner. There are a few less options here but I really enjoy the food if I’m in the mood for Cheew Juw style, this is the place to go to.

Bought take out from here for lunch. Service is always fast here, Ordered a cambodian noodle and shrimp rolls. The cambodian noodle consisted of 2 fish balls, 2 shrimps, a couple slices of pork with some pork bits and rice noodle. This is my new favorite from this place because it is not too salty, overly flavorful, or oily like the beef brisket noodle. This time I also opted to try their shrimp rolls. The order came with a total of eight pieces and a duck sauce for dipping. The inside consisted of some type of stuffing and some shrimps. This turned out to be a really tasty choice. The outside layer was crispy and the mysterious stuffing and shrimp was good

Came here for lunch, and they ran out of my favorite item on their menu… fish dumplings!!! NOOOO! Either way I still got my duck and flat noodles fix. I just don’t know what it is about the flavor of their duck and soup bases but it is soooo damn good! I also recommend their fish balls, chicken and their country style pig plates. Another recommendation is their special peanut hot sauce. I’m not sure what the exact name is, they also sell ‘em by the jar by the cashier. There’s 2 sizes, the larger size is $ 7, a little too expensive but well worth the price! They have 2 locations, this one I’m reviewing is the one on Grand street, the other one is down on Bayard. I come to this location more often cause I feel the waiters here are a little more polite and is less packed.

A friend recommend this place and their delicious beef stew noodles. The noodles were very good. The beef was extremely tender with just the right amount of spice. I even drank the soup that it came with afterwards lol. Only flaw was that my order to go was only filled ¾ of the way. I would’ve gotten a larger portion of food if I ate in.
