Pita Grill

Order took over 70 minutes to be delivered and it was cold. The Ahi salad was inedible, covered in some gross type of mayo sauce which was not listed on the menu. They will not be in business for long, GO ELSEWHERE

This restaurant does not exist here. Seamless allows this restaurant to still list they operate from this location. We order food thinking it was around the corner. After looking up the address in maps, we know this is closed location. The food was coming from an unknown location. The food was awful and looked like scraps.

The chicken rice bowl is great but it has taken over an hour and a half to get my food delivered more than once. I made the mistake of thinking that if I didn’t order during rush, that would help. NOPE. This has been an ongoing problem and they clearly don’t have their act together. They should not offer delivery — PERIOD.

I ordered from this place 2 nights in a row. Both times they got my order wrong. It’s like they didn’t even read the order. When I asked them why one of my items was missing the broccoli, they responded with «Oh we were out so we just didn’t give you any». Pathetic.

This place was already bad now they are serving rotten food. Got an order of babaganoush and it was fermented. Tasted like soda. Took it back for a refund and the staff was not surprised. Grade is pending on this restaurant, they should be shut down

Basically the worst service. Waited 10 min at the register before someone took my order. Then had yo wait 25 min to get a burger. While I was there one of the staff dropped two cans of soda (with 5 min) spraying all over the place. Everyone else was standing around… Just awful.
And they got my order wrong… Cool.

Two words: food intoxication.
Was starving after a dance lesson, not much choice in the neighborhood, I said why not, and profoundly regretted my decision the following day. And I am really not sick that easily.
Would avoid at all costs!

I ordered the seared ahi tuna salad which is suppose to have hard-​boiled eggs and tempura string beans. My salad did not come with either of them and it seems like Pita grill decided to «make-​up» for it by adding 3 cubes of avocados instead. I did not want avocados to begin with… the salad is not the salad I ordered for $ 15.
If they wanted to go and make that replacement for eggs and avocados, they should have told me. I did not see this difference until I got back to the office. I was unable to step back out and use up my lunch break time for this mistake. Felt like I was lied to about my order.
To add-​on the service is slow also. Took 10 minutes to get my take-​out order. Will not order my lunch here anymore.

Received my delivery two hours after my order time. Got two things: a veggie wrap, and a Greek salad. The veggie wrap had chicken in it. Not what I ordered.
The Greek Salad was all wilted and wet, like it had been sitting around. Ok, I get it, I ordered a late delivery (it’s NYC) and your people weren’t interested and wanted to go home. I know you can’t help that as an owner/​manager/​whatever, so I called, and asked for a refund because the food wasn’t what I ordered and the salad was rancid.
I was told in no uncertain terms that they wouldn’t process a refund. When I asked why, they said they checked the order and it was right. Well, I have the filthy wrap and rotting salad sitting in my fridge, just in case you want to send a Pita Grill Crap Inspector over to look at it, but you didn’t want to do that either.
Obviously, never again.

Other than the nice person behind the counter everything here is wrong. Food is of very low quality, poorly flavored and just wrong! Do not come here with toddlers as they do not accommodate.

Don’t go in here!!! We ordered the falafel platter and on the first bite we found a green rubber band! Definitely a no go!

I am rewriting my review upon my last visit. I bit into my falafel and it had a green rubber band in it!!! So disgusting. No wonder this place is empty! I was so afraid my other falafels would have rubber bands or items in it that I just left the platter. The staff didn’t seem to be bothered by it. As if it was normal to have rubber bands in your food. I had to leave and walk down to another place to eat lunch! Sorry don’t go!

The food is edible so let’s give it 1 star for that.
We waited an hour and 45 minutes for a lunch we placed before the lunch time frenzy to ensure getting it at a reasonable time — that didn’t work out. If i could give the service a negative rating I would.
I think I spent 20 minutes on hold to ask them where my food was and when the call was hung up. Such great customer service.
When we did get the food — the orders were wrong and all of the food was cold.

My wife and I ordered some healthy snacks before heading to our kickboxing class; I ordered the Blue Mango Twist Smoothie. As a clean, organic foodie, I was appalled to see all of the fruits used for smoothies come from a pre-​frozen bag. The smoothies here aren’t made with fresh fruits — which is a BIG no-​no for me. Can’t say that I’ll be back.

Easily some of the worst food that I’ve eaten in a VERY long time.
Everything had too much salt on it. I got a salad and there was salt EVERYWHERE. The chicken was cooked well but seasoned with too much salt.
The pita was bland, the sauces meh and the salad was $ 15. Way too expensive.
It also took about 20 minutes to make it.
Inside, it looked like they didn’t have their stuff together and were running all over the place.
I wouldn’t waste my time here.

Their food is so-​so. In the falafel platter I ordered, the lettuce was wilty and the spicy tahini sauce was a radioactive color and weirdly gelatinous, with no detectable spiciness and almost no flavor at all, in fact. The falafel balls were rather dry.
Also, when the delivery guy handed me my bag and turned to leave I said «wait I have to give you a tip and sign the c/​c slip!» He then reached into his pocket and handed me the receipt labeled Customer Copy, on which somebody had ALREADY written in a tip and total. WTF?! I told him this wasn’t ok, that the customer is supposed to do that, not the delivery guy or the cashier, and he just smiled sort of blankly – he either really didn’t understand me or was just hoping I’d believe that. Either way, that on top of the subpar food means I won’t be ordering from them again!

Pro/​Con.
Pro: I love the food.
Con: I asked to speak to a manager 3 times. No-​one came to talk with me.
Con: The new menu mounted above the cashier is nearly impossible to read: the orange on the cream background is very difficult to see, especially with the lighting shining in my eyes. Someone with visual impairments cannot easily read this menu board.
Con: When I asked for a paper menu, there were none available.
Con: There are NO wheelchair accessible tables. Period.
Con: I couldn’t find any contact information on the Pita Grill web site. How might anyone contact the owner? Good luck.
Pro: I love the food.

Well, lets start with the fact that they delivered my turkey burger RAW. And no cheese! (which says included) but i was more concerned about my turkey burger being PINK on the inside! So i called to get a new one and some asian tells me «oh yes we send new one right away,» an hour later, still no food and guess what, they’re CLOSED! So hello fellow Unilocal users – DONT ORDER FROM HERE!!!
I was also told by a friend of mine (as im writing this review) that she ordered a salad from here and there was a legitimate SCREW in the salad… WOW! Never again!!!

This place is just a simple restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Bowl and the Anil Gupta’s Tandoori Chicken Pita. Both were fine to me, but they did lack in flavor a bit. I got some dressing for the Chicken Bowl which help a bit. I used a LivingSocial special as well.
I would come back again if I was in the mood for this type of food but seems to be a bit on the expensive side for what you are getting. There are better deals around NYC.

Pita Grill serves up standard Mediterranean lunch fare at a decent price.
The California hummus alone is five stars. It is hands down the best thing on the menu. I could eat a tub of this alone and it’d make my day.
Everything else is okay and will take a while to prepare. Its not bad, but also not anything to write home about. The slow service is at lease mitigated by the nice seating they have!
