The penne arrabbiata is tasty and the breakfast is also quite good! The omelettes and potatoes are just the right portion.

Rude period. Had a reservation for 25 and didn’t have enough seating. Kept insisting 3 people squeeze in the middle of a banquet where there was room for 1. Disgusting. Much better options in this city.

Excellent authentic Italian cuisine. Recommend the«al Pacino» pasta. Servings are reasonable so there is room for desert. Tiramisu was excellent.

Had the Sofia Foccacia which is similar to a pizza but about a million times better. the cheese they use is shipped in over night from and must be used within 24 hours. It’s a soft cheese that is mild but great flavor. I also got the Carpaccio di filetto e tartuffi neri which is thinly sliced filet with dark truffle oil, truffle mushrooms and veggies. I am not a huge fan of mushrooms so I got them on the side, but they were the best mushrooms I’ve ever tasted. The lobster ravioli were fantastic as well and were in an adorable heart shape. Not cheap but well worth it. The service is very quick and attentive.

Nice and clean restaurant. I thought the food was better but it was ok. Nice location near the subway, Central Park and time warner mall.

Four people visited on a Monday around 7pm. — Food: Three other people ordered three different pasta dishes. None of them was impressed with his/her dish. I ordered the salmon with lentils and spinach. Salmon was overcooked with burnt mark on top; the sauce was a bit too salty, heavy and all over the dish, so the presentation was saddening considering the fancy décor of the restaurant; this dish is acceptable if $ 10 cheaper. — Service: One of us asked for salt & pepper because there was only a salt shake on EVERY table. The waitstaff pointed at the tiny salt shake and said ‘pepper is on the way’. This waitstaff seemed to be in a rush even though the restaurant was not busy at all. Despite this, I found his response funny. Our server was the bare minimal of acceptable. Moreoever, she added a 5th entrée that none of us ordered onto our check, which could be a mistake or an intention — I believe it was intentional. There was also an extra charge of $ 3 as something like ‘kitchen charge’ to one of the pasta trio dish because there were 3 different types of pasta in this one dish(duh!). It was surprising to us since this ‘pasta trio’ was listed on the menu by itself as a complete entrée(so we did not ask to combine three different types of pasta into one dish); and the $ 3 extra charge was not indicated anywhere on the menu. This type of inconsistency when it came to our check was extremely disappointing. Moreover, the ‘tipping guideline’ on each of our check, which was ¼ of the total for each of us, still reflected the tip amount for the entire check. Therefore, I nearly paid 4 times the tips until ‘WAIT A MINUTE’ hit my head. Therefore, my suggestion is, if you like finding mistakes or surprises in your check after a mediocre meal, go to Serafina. You are up for a treat. — Décor: Spacey and comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Staffs dressed nicely.

Service was horrendous, food almost matched. The manager tried to sit us at a table next to a family of 6 with two screaming children. We asked to move, was not a problem. But the restaurant was empty, why put us there in the first place? Then, no one came over to us for 15 minutes. My pasta came out and was ice cold on the outside, warm inside. I sent it back. We had to flag down a waiter because the woman who took our food order was nowhere to be found. It came back out and the plate was so hot it scalded my hand. Was this a joke? My friends linguini with clams came out, not one clam was cooked through. We spoke to someone who we thought was the manager, but he told us «what do you want me to do about this? We answered get us cooked clams… he said that’s not something I can help you with.» So we had to ASK for the manager! He came over, we told him the clams were not cooked. He his response was,“They’re open, that means they’re cooked. I’m Italian, I know.” What??? First of all, my friend and me are both Italian… and second, what does that matter? I’ve been eating and cooking clams my entire life. I KNOW. Then he asked us what we wanted him to do, we said we want new clams. We were told ok, I’ll have them cook these more. Ugh. No. First, the whole plate should have been redone to perfection. And comped. He took the raw clams and my pasta dish– holding it with a towel after agreeing it was much too hot to be on the table-and disappeared. The bus boy came out with my pasta, warmer, and a plate of clam shells. Literally. There were no clams in the shells! It looked like they dumped sauce on some old clamshells, added a sprig of parsley and brought it out. We were asked if it was better, and we said no. But were too annoyed and flabbergasted at the evenings events to elaborate. We were comped for a glass of wine. Wow thanks. We had to flag them down every to me they messed up. I’ve been to the east side restaurant many times and never had any problem, always stellar in every way. The manager at this location is a moron, so inhospitable and rude, there is no way he’s Italian, and wait staff is better anywhere else in the city, and I mean anywhere.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Walked into this place after roaming the streets of New York, ravenous and with aching feet. I was immediately greeted by the smell of lemon cleaning products. K. says«I don’t smell anything,» so we make our way to a table, Italian nightclub disco thumping from the loudspeakers. Sparkling water comes with two dried out limes on a coffee cup saucer. Water is two degrees below room temp. and the waiter seems a bit annoyed that we aren’t going to order any alcohol. Scan the menu. Pasta with tomatoes, tomatoes with pasta and garlic, garlic tomato sauce with pasta, gnocchi with tomatoes and roasted garlic. Pet peeve #2,043: restaurants that have 35 variations on the same basic dish. Inevitably, it means they can’t get any of them right. I order the pesto, K. orders the arrabbiata. Pesto comes out so gummy and soft that I consider going back to the kitchen and kicking somebody right in the shin. Also room temp., because that’s how they do it. Maybe they went to 7 – 11 and bought prepared pasta, then warmed it up in the microwave for nine minutes, then let it sit for 15? Very possible this was an off-night, but I can’t imagine going back here. If you like Olive Garden, but think the pasta is just a bit too al dente when it comes to you, and the prices are far too low, give this place a try!

To be fair, this restaurant has authentic Italian motherland cuisine, which I’m not always a fan of. The pasta is very al dente, very correctly flavored nuetral sauce and no generous portions. So if you’re from queens you’ll hate this lol Italian food from Queens is over the top in portions and sometimes really spiked in garlic, oregano, or basil. Which is incorrectly wonderful to me. And I like my pasta on the soft side. The crêpe dessert was really good. The upside of Italian motherland cooking is that their desserts aren’t overkilled with sugar like American desserts.

ive lived near this location for almost two years and finally tried it over the weekend. i really like the overall vibe and energy of the restaurant. our service was also great. food was good, not mind blowing. we had fried calamari, the spaghetti with half a lobster and filet mingon. the highlight of the meal was the lobster spaghetti. flavor was perfecto, perfectly sauced with generous lobster meat. one of the lobster pieces was an intact, humongous claw, yum! the filet was in desperate need of seasoning, and the cut was a bit on the thin side. the veggies/mashed potatoes that came with it were also underwhelming. i like this place for the convenience, if i were to come back i think i’ll stick to the pastas.

As far as restaurants in midtown go, Serafina is pretty good, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there if it wasn’t close to my office. I went the other night for dinner and got the spinach and goat cheese salad. I enjoyed it mostly for the toasted pine nuts – the salad itself was nothing special and the honey was too sweet for me. It was also kind of small. My friend got the same thing as me(salad and a glass of wine) and we shared a basket of the focaccia. We split the bill and I ended up paying almost $ 50, which I think is overpriced for what it was. That being said, I’ve heard the pizza and pasta is pretty good, so maybe I should have got something different. I’ve been to this location in the summer and their outside seating is nice and makes for good people watching.

The food here was absolutely delicious! I had the bruschetta and burrata & prosciutto as a starter. The goat cheese & spinach salad with shrimp as a main meal and ordered a prosciutto focaccia for the table. The flavor combinations were unique and amazing. Dessert was equally as delicious. Hot chocolate cake filled with Nutella and vanilla gelato on the side. The food here will not disappoint you! The décor here is very trendy. They funky artwork and mosaics on the wall are chic. The music they played in the background was lounge style euro dance with an up beat. Great vibes. Staff was super friendly. Service was quick. Place is clean. Bön appetit!

The first time I visited this restaurant, I had a great meal. That was two years ago. Clearly, things change. It was a lowkey night Beef carpaccio — severely under seasoned and under salted. The«special sauce» was not impressive and the plain boiled potatoes brought nothing to the party either. Already over it… I had the truffle pizza next which was meh. I knew better than to visit any restaurant within the tourist trap of midtown, but I have had excellent experiences at Serafina UES. So I’ll just stay loyal to that location. Veronica, our server, was great. But I knew that because we used to be coworkers, I just happened to run into her here — great surprise. She really is someone who takes pride in her work. She gets all the stars!

I’ve dined at this Serafina many times and am always satisfied. The pizzas are very good and the dessert selections are also really good. The pasta dishes are about average but the atmosphere is why most people choose to eat there. The reasonable prices make this a decent choice for a fun italianish meal in NYC surrounded by pretty people.

Not a bad option if you want a decent place to go by Times Square. The food is good, but falls short of great. I thought the overall dining experience was good, especially eating outside with all of the people watching. I dined here with my son when we were visiting NYC and on our way to Times Square. This place came highly recommended to me by my wife and her friend(a native New Yorker). I left less excited than what the hype had built up beforehand, but it’s all relative. I really enjoyed the overall experience even though I thought the food was only okay. FOOD Margherita Pizza — Blander than expected. Not a lot of flavor. Goat Cheese Pizza — Similarly, this did not have a lot of flavor. Tasted a little doughy. SERVICE I loved out Italian man serving us. He definitely added an element of authenticity and Metropolitan to the dining experience. Everything was brought out in a timely fashion. No mistakes. AMBIANCE The location and environment sitting outside would make me want to return here. I really enjoyed sitting outside and looking at all of the people. It was colder outside, but they had heating lamp AND blankets. Very nice touch.

Normally I can deal with bad service if the food is good, but this was just absolutely horrid! For starters, we waited a good 20 minutes before the server even came to our table to get us some drinks. After that, we ordered 10 minutes later and waited close to 20 minutes for our food, to find that he got my pasta dish wrong. I expected this too because he stood so far from me that he could barely hear me or see which dish i was pointing to. He angrily took it away, no apology or anything, and 20 minutes later, I got my food. We ate, never had our drinks refilled or asked how our meal was, nothing. It took so long to get the check, my friend had to leave cause lunch had already taken too long. Finally got the check after trying to wave him down for 10 minutes, no thank you, no nothing as he handed me the check, took my money and gave me back the bill for a signature. Horrid service, it seriously can’t get worst than this. I’d probably still be waiting for my water to be refilled as we were basically non-existent to him.

Was a great time all around. This was meant to be as a business and friendly meeting. My best friend and I were getting together w a friend from out of town who comes in for business 2 – 3 times a year and she loves good food and she loves our city. I suggested Serafinas as it is a place that I never tried myself and my wife has been to mutiple times w her friends for brunch. By the time we ended up meeting up with our friend due to midtown and outbound traffic was late lunch time and it certainly did not disappoiint. My buddy had a mixed seafood pasta dish that he said hit the spot, I ate the filet burger that was perfect and our friend had the seafood ravialoi everyone was happy and the bill was less than 150 for all 3 with an amazing tip. We will all be back and hopefully multiple times.

I came here for a quick lunch with a few friends. I was about an hour late so my friends had already finished eating by the time I got there. I certainly surprised the waiter for asking about the menu instead of the check! I was a bit disappointed in the service because the many waiters were standing a few feet away from the register for a while and when I tried to call them over, they completely ignored me! They were just standing and talking! It was baffling! I ordered the Tartare Di Sofia which tuna and salmon are marinated in a sauce with bread on the side. The tuna/salmon mix tasted fresh and delicious. Note: The salmon and tuna in this dish are raw. I would give a 4 for the food and ambiance but the service here was a bit dissatisfactory and thus the three stars.
