The food is always great, nice portions and generously priced; the staff are very attentive. Furthermore, the ambiance of this place is beautiful. =)

The cinnamon soup with beef and bok choy is AMAZING. I tried it at other UWS Thai places, and this one does it the best.

This skinny restaurant is easy to walk past, but look closely and you’ll find a fabulous Thai experience. Food, presentation and service were top drawer. And to top it off, the price was great with my Groupon. Highly recommend!

I will admit that I come here too often. Often enough that I seriously question how this place stays in business because it is so empty every time I come. Do people mostly order take out here?! Anyways. Despite being a ghost town every time I come, the food is GREAT! Lunch specials are so awesome and their homemade ice cream is so awesome and their portion sizes so awesome and the plethora of appetizer options with the lunch specials is so awesome and everything is so awesome. I hope you all check it out and love it too.

I will give 0 stars if I could. Last time I ordered some curry dish for takeout, which tasted good actually. This time I sat down for lunch. Food was terrible, terrible, terrible. Ginger chicken was worse than the quality of food truck. Rice was stale. Thai ice tea was sweet like hell. the only edible food was fried tofu. Worse than the food? service. The waitress(or perhaps the owner, good for her in that case) was so rude and unfriendly. She had absolutely no smile at all. Thai ice tea on menu was $ 3 but charged me $ 4. Didn’t bother to check on me the entire lunch when the restaurant was not busy at all. No wonder no one came here even during lunch peak time. Oh btw, minimum $ 10 for credit card. Shame.

Didn’t discriminate like some places do when they find out you have a groupon. The food is consistent with most Thai restaurants but the price but the service is great! They are super friendly! Love the décor, very authentic, clean, and great atmosphere. Will come back.

This is a delivery review. Even though Sookk is on the pricier side(for Thai food), I’ve actually always preferred Sookk to other Thai restaurants that are closer to me because Sookk’s dishes didn’t seem as hastily prepared. But as of today, Sookk lost me as a loyal customer! The first time I ever placed an order(back in October 2015), the person who picked up didn’t bother to tell me that a $ 5 delivery fee would be added until 20 minutes after the order had been placed and processed(because I live north of a certain street). He was courteous and apologetic about it though, so I let it go. Today, I placed via Seamless a delivery order of the Chicken Pad Thai Brunch Special. The special included a side salad — but the salad was nowhere to be found. I also requested some hot sauce on the side, but that was also absent. The pad thai ended up being so salty that I had no need for hot sauce, so I guess that worked itself out okay. What’s more, 5 minutes before the delivery man showed, I received 2 calls from either someone at the actual restaurant, or from the delivery personnel himself, angrily yelling«HELLO? DELIVERY?! DELIVERY?!» –except given the echo and noise that came from his end of the phone, I couldn’t understand. Needless to say, I was irked. The absent salad and hot sauce didn’t help. Bye Sookk:(

Great décor, nice atmosphere, order came out fast. Ordered the lunch special. I had the spring rolls, red curry shrimp with white rice. I also ordered the Thai ice tea The spring rolls were delicious. The shrimp curry was great with the right amount of spice I had trouble with the Thai tea but it was just my taste bud I would recommend this place for lunch

Great décor and service and good food– had a really nice dinner here with my older sister here. They have a happy hour special featuring BOGO beer and $ 6 cocktails– both of us got the«Sookk Sake»(fruity and strong, exactly what I needed after a hard day at work!) We ordered the Thai Paella in claypot bowl and the spicy Yaowarat noodles with beef. The noodles were thick lo mein-style noodles, stir fried with veggies in a spicy soy sauce. Solid taste with a spicy kick. I think the paella outshined the noodles– filled with squid, shrimp and chunks of fried fish and topped off with fried garlic, I strongly recommend this dish– delicious and it is perfect for sharing.

So expensive for such mediocre, bland, un-creative food. I could have gotten noodles and some sauce from an Asian Specialty Food Store and made the same thing. Actually, we ended up making a stir-fry with our own veggies, seasoning, then mixed in the food from Sook, and THEN the meal was worth eating. We did carry-out, and the service was un-helpful and just rude. It was weird. And the food, literally… Some noodles, some basic sauce, expensive price… Yea. Just go somewhere else, it was ridiculously disappointing.

I’ve been here several times throughout the years. The décor was much more beautiful about ~2−3 years ago when the colors on the threaded walls seemed more vibrant(now looking pretty old? cleaning ftw). About a month ago, I bought a groupon for the place because of the mere convenience of the location to the day’s plans(book culture!) and really crossed my fingers hoping for the best. Their $ 8 lunch special is pretty cheap, but sad that they now forgo the ice cream they used to have back then. Still, the brothy broth of clearness accompanies the meal… ours being Pad Thai & the Penang Curry. Also, we ordered the Tom Yum, Beef Tartare, and the Lychee Sangria. Everything was pretty basic and edible, though edibility shouldn’t have been in discussion. The Beef Tartare was very interesting, tasted good– though had me worrying for my disposal of said items later. The Lychee Sangria was bland and watered down– not much Sangria– maybe just colored Lychee juicy juice. Overall, the place is just A-Ok! I wouldn’t come here again… but I probably will just because the location is key to one of the neighborhoods I used to hang around in. The service was pretty okay, but no one made an remarkable impression.

We were staying just down the road from Sookk and not wanting to venture far, decided to try here for dinner. We went a little early, but when we walked in we were the only people there(more came in as dinner progressed). The gentlemen who worked there were nice enough. We tried the shiitake spring rolls as an appetizer. They came out piping hot and I really don’t have many complaints on them — they may have been lacking just a tad in flavor, but the dipping sauce they brought for them(pineapple carrot sauce) was really good and made up for it. For my main dish, I had the spicy yaowarat noodles. They were pretty good. The sauce had a nice sweet tone with some spice under it — my nose was definitely running by the time I finished the dish. My only complaint with this dish would be that there seemed to be more onions than noodles in there. I had it with chicken and I found it to be cooked nicely, with a good portion in there. My friend had the shrimp roadside noodles — she said they were pretty good but her shrimp were overcooked a little. Prices and portions were really nice, especially for NYC. Getting our check was a little bit of a hassle because they servers kept walking by us, despite being finished, and never brought us our checks, so we had to ask a while later. But we didn’t mind too much since we had a long day and were exhausted. Overall, I say this place is worth a visit!

Been to this restaurant three times over the past two years. The quality of food has been inconsistent. Since I could cook rice dishes on my own, I always order noodle dishes. The street noodle thing(cannot remember the exact name) comes in HUGE portion. I have had it with crispy pork belly once and vegetarian duck once. The crispy pork belly is a bit too oily, but the crunchy taste makes me happy so I can forgive the oiliness. Vegetarian duck is simply bland compared to those I’ve had in Chinese restaurants. I did try my friends’ curry dishes(seafood I believe). Mediocre at its best. Spring rolls are definitely frozen ones! Do not order. Summer rolls are fine. Again, the portion is generous. I can imagine the summer rolls alone being an entrée for some people. They’ve got happy hour, which is why I would go there again. Red wine with oily-but-still-tasty crispy pork noodle. Hmmmmm Service is pretty good. Staff are quite friendly and attentive, but they do smile less later in the evening, which is understandable.

Ordered $ 70 worth of delivery on a Friday night for few a friends – at about 7:15. We live in the neighborhood. The seamless delivery estimate was about 8:15… And the food arrived at 10:00pm. Even more frustrating was our inability to get in touch with the restaurant to understand what was going on. Call log attached shows the number of calls we have to make, only getting in touch with them twice. So for an overall dreadful experience, we are leaving 3 stars because the pad thai, pad see ew and other dishes ordered were pretty good. To their credit they said the food($ 70) would be free. Which is very kind. Still. we likely won’t give them a second chance and ever order from them again.

Came here for the first time with a Groupon. The place was half full on a Saturday night — not complaining. Décor: The table settings were cute, an electronic candle put inside little weave baskets. One wall has multi-colored cushions, while the other has a yellow/gold wallpaper with dark spots on it; It was reminiscent of a dirty kitchen wall. There were also three poles connected to electrical sockets, but their function was a mystery to us. Food: Thai(seafood: calamari and shrimp) paella in clay pot [$ 16]. What? Paellas are one of my favorite Spanish dishes. Could they really pull it off? No. There was a slight curry taste, but pretty bland. I honestly think it was just fried rice transferred to and served in a clay pot. Curry puffs [$ 6], pretty oily. Definitely not the worst I’ve had though(and I’ve tried dozens from different restaurants). What bothers me most is the garnish, especially since I usually eat them. Don’t serve me old cilantro! Green papaya salad [$ 6.50], another dish I’ve tried at many different restaurants. We asked for medium spicy, but it came out as mild. The serving bowl made it difficult to serve without dropping food around. It did not taste fresh. There was no crispness — I could chew on it and the pieces would just rearrange itself in my mouth instead of snapping apart. Lychee Sangria(½ liter) [$ 12] for 2 glasses. I’ve had this kind of sangria at about 3 other places now. I’ve had bad sangria that was mostly juice, but this one was just pretty sour. It came in a cute little«weave booty» though so points on presentation(though the waiter dropped one of ours, and didn’t bother to replace it). Service: The service was polite for the most part. Things were done pretty quickly. They’re all wearing interesting colorful pants, which I later found out they were selling for $ 20. Multiple waiters waited on us, asking the same things. Other than that, it was alright.

This place is great. The food was good. The service was great. The ambience is nice. We got the lunch special for $ 8 per person. With it, you get an appetizer, an entrée, and an ice cream. We got the chicken satay and the fried chicken dumpling. Both were good. I love the friend dumpling though. It was filled with meat and a nice crispness. As for the entrée, we also got the pad Thai and the spicy basil fried rice. The pad Thai was really good. It was the right amount of sauce flavoring. The basil fried rice was ok. You can definitely taste the basil which was good but basic fried rice. The service was really good. The server was so nice and so patient with us. She was very understanding to other people’s needs especially when some lady was all about her laundry list of allergies. Definitely recommend this place.

So pros: beef pad thai delicious, basil chicken decent. If you want spicy go for the pad thai. Cons: service sucks no other way to say it. Waited 20 mins before anyone even spoke to us. If you dine in expect to wait for a while before anyone looks your way.
