I haven’t found that many good Thai options in this area of Manhattan(save for Sookk), but Tum & Yum is definitely a great one. If I still lived in my first Manhattan apartment just a few blocks up the street, I’d probably be going here and /or ordering from here all of the time! The beau and I grabbed a quick dinner here one evening; around 6:30 p.m. on a Wednesday evening, the place was EMPTY, though, by the time we left around 7:30, people began to slowly file in. The menu is quite impressive, with many excellent options besides the usual Pad Thais and fried rice dishes. That being said… we Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Thai Fried Rice, respectively. Haaa.(I wasn’t in the mood for being culinarily adventurous that night. It had been a long day and I yearned for the familiarity of one of my usual Thai restaurant staples.) The Pad Thai had a great flavor with a rich tamarind sauce, though, I found the texture of a few pieces of the chicken to be a little weird and rubbery. I did have a few bites of the fried rice, which I really enjoyed! I almost got Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice, and I think I’d try that next time instead. Kale with Crispy Pork and many of the soups looked delicious! I really look forward to coming back here at another time and being a little more adventurous! The interior is really quirky awesome, with colorful inserts in the windows(including the convicing faux windows on the north wall, with a wall full of(likely faux!) drawers adorning the east wall. It’s really wonderful funky! If doesn’t quite feel like you’re in Manhattan Valley, but rather a hipper Thai spot in Hell’s Kitchen. With a great menu and promising 2 for 1 Happy Hour specials(which I didn’t take advantage of, since I just grabbed a drink up the street at Bob’s Your Uncle!), I look forward to coming back here again in the near future.

Love this place. I used to live across the street so I ate there often. I haven’t found a cheaper Thai place at this level of quality yet. Drunken noodles A++. And the atmosphere is super cozy.

Ordered delivery from here. It took forever, but the chicken pad thai was good. Not the best I’ve had, but tasty for the price. About $ 10 for pad thai. Would order delivery again, but hopefully it won’t take almost an hour and a half like it did tonight.

Avoid avoid avoid. Ordered from here yesterday and they don’t know anything about customer service, not to mention the food is mediocre at best. I ordered 2 Thai iced teas with my order no where near close over the phone. The delivery guy gets here and drops off the food, and the iced teas are missing. I call the delivery guy not a minute after I shut the door to say they’re missing and he tells me that he will come back to give me that later. Later? I call back the place and an extremely rude and unprofessional woman tells me the kitchen closed early and that there was no way I could get my iced tea. She even told me it was not her problem and offered me store credit for next, even though I asked her to refund me the price for the 2 iced teas since I didnt end up getting them and there would be no next time. She ended up calling me back 10 minutes later saying that she’s refunded the money to my account. What a pain. Not to mention I’ve never had pad thai where the egg isn’t mixed into the noodles but instead just put on top in one chunk. Not worth the time or money.

Thinking of ordering delivery? Think twice. After 30 minutes past the scheduled delivery time, I called and they told me my food was ‘on its way’ without even asking for my order. food was over 1 hour late and cold. Thankfully, Seamless refunded my order. Stay Away!

Ordered a take out to pick up, I asked extra duck on my duck drunken noodle, which I paid extra $ 5 for it and I’m totally fine with that. But when I got home I was disappointed, the total portion of the duck was like 8 pieces! Seriously I paid $ 8 for 8 pieces of duck? The drunken noodle is $ 9.95+ duck $ 3 which is $ 12.95, extra duck is $ 5 so that’s $ 17.95 So basically I paid $ 9.95 for the drunken noodle and $ 8 for the duck?! This place is overpriced Not coming back at all!

Cool wooden décor inside and out and also colorful stained glass. The Papaya Pad Thai was very tasty, especially with extra fish sauce and chilies. Staff could have been more friendly and helpful, so that brought down the rating from a 5.

Grubhub Order Review: I docked a couple stars because the green curry was not the best I’ve had. I couldn’t actually see the Thai basil. It’s certainly not the worst I’ve had. I still haven’t been able to find a reallyyy good green curry in NYC. The side I ordered(steamed Thai dumplings) were kind of delicious and showed a lot of promise, though they were too sweet for me. I opted for ‘Very Hot’ for the curry — and it was actually spicy, which can be hard to find. If you know what I mean by that, just go for ‘Very Hot’. Delivery was FAST — on a Friday night at 9:24 pm, I got it by 9:45, half a mile away. Probably reheating stuff. Definitely above average for delivery, but breaks just above average for taste. I would consider visiting their location, considering other reviews it may be much better.

Very pleased. All the food here is very well executed. Has the standard thai dishes the every restaurant has. The see ew was really good here and had a roasted chicken also nice. Appetizers roasted eggplant was very nice and I don’t even like eggplant. If I’m in the area again will definitely be back.

I ate at the restaurant tonight for the first time after ordering delivery several times. I met my friend around 7 pm and we were seated immediately. The place was busy but not crowded. We split the Curry Puff as an appetizer and each had the Pad Thai, mine with chicken, hers with tofu. Pad Thai is one of my favorite foods so I order it everywhere I go. I really enjoyed my dinner and have enjoyed it delivered to me in the past. Only complaint is inconsistent air conditioning and it was 90 degrees outside. It was hot then cold and difficult to stay comfortable. Prices are good, service is fast and delivery is excellent as well. Delivery comes quickly and the delivery person always walks the food up the stairs to the door.

First, what a cute name for a restaurant! My cousin and I were going to get dinner, so I told her to search for some place on Unilocal and this is where we ended up. Um, wow. Best Thai place I’ve been to in the States. The flavors that they have are all super authentic, and that’s coming from someone who went to Thailand recently for a week and a half and ate my weight in Thai food. Just went to another Thai place in California/Bay area today, and I can safely say that Tum and Yum has set a new bar for me. My cousin and I ordered a pad thai with tofu, no bean sprouts, and also a green curry with chicken. The pad thai was full of flavor, and everything was well cooked; the portion was good for its price. The green curry was so so spicy! But so delicious. I had a pretty good experience with the service, the waitress was really nice. If I’m around this neighborhood next time I go to New York, I’m definitely going to return here!

I really liked this place. It’s very calm. It’s a nice place to hang out with your friends and enjoy good Thai food. I ordered the vegetable tofu soup as an appetizer because I was so hungry. My friend ordered the veggie dumplings. We were both very satisfied with the light appetizers! It was just the perfect amount of food to hold you off until you got your main entrée. I ordered the drunken noodles with tofu and I was pleasantly surprised! The noodles were perfect as was the tofu, veggies and spice level. I have high Thai food standards and this place is on point. My friends were all satisfied with their dishes. Overall, I would go back to this place again. My friend who lives in the area orders lunch take out from them every so often and he’s always happy! They have good lunch deals so check those out!

I love this quaint little restaurant. I am writing this review as I sit dining here for a second time in 7 days. Yes its that good. I read an old article about it and saved it to my list of places to go. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you receive. The servers are helpful and very sweet. The Pad Kra Prow is bursting full of flavor. They have different levels of hot. I hot a level 6 and it was the perfect seasoning. I love the dish but I wish I could have two types of protein. For example chicken and shrimp. The server said they aren’t able to do that. I also ordered Shumai which taste great. It is pretty much a dumplings with ground up shrimp. The décor is very modern and they incorporate alot of wood into it. If you are on the Upper West side definitely make a trip to this spot. They have awesome lunch specials until 3:30pm. And a great drink special from 12−4pm.

I made reservations via opentable for another UWS restaurant on Christmas Day for lunch. Show up and they were closed… So with a quick Unilocal search, we found Tom and Yum. We are so glad that we did! At roughly 3PM we walk in and there was another couple there and all their food seemed to look good. Sit down and the little specials menu says 6 dollar drinks till 4!!! Jackpot. The cocktails were decent, especially their green tea mojito(you must like matcha to order this). Fast forward a bit… They still had their lunch specials!!! score again. Their spicy basil fried rice was awesome, the drunken noodles were some of the best I’ve had and the green curry with duck was the best that I’ve ever had. The green curry isn’t a bowl of «soup» like what many other places serve. They make the meat/veggies the center of the dish and they put some curry/eggplant around it to accent it. We told them that we enjoyed spicy food so they didn’t hold back! Their food will make you sweat! I’m surprised this place doesn’t really pop up when I search for thai restaurants in Manhattan… This place is a gem!

An excellent Thai food stop if you are exploring the northern portion of Central Park with $ 8 lunch special from 12 – 3:30PM. No matter what you order though, you must get the Thai iced tea! As you walk into the restaurant at the intersection of 105 St. and Columbus, you will step into a modern re-imagined, Thai rural-side café. The décor is modern and classy, but is not imposing so you can still feel at ease like you are at home! Many Thai food options are on the menu, but I can tell you only the lunch specials because that’s the only thing I got on my only visit. You can choose one appetizers from choices including spring roll and one entrees from options including pad thai and fried rice. For $ 8, your entrée sub-options include chicken, pork, vegetable, and tofu, but for $ 12, you can choose shrimp or squid. To be honest, I had few Thai food experiences and has never found them extraordinary but Tum & Yum has certainly changed my prospective on Thai food. Pad thai came in a sizable portion and was tasty and flavorful! I would rank this as the best Thai food I had yet. The Thai iced tea was also great too! It was black tea infused with Thai-style milk blended with a herb mixture. The result was a sweet milky tea with a slight spicy tone in the backdrop. I don’t think I can order Thai tea in boba shops anymore! Tum & Yum delivers a solid Thai food experience, so if you are looking for good Thai food or a lunch stop near Central Park, don’t hesitate to swing by!
