This was the first and last time I will order from Wondee V. The Royal Vegetables dish was picked from the garbage. The plastic was opened and the liquid was leaking. The chicken and beef were dry and tasteless, and the supposed garlic sauce was some liquid that was meant to be thrown out. A few of the vegetables were ok.

I was starving and it was 10:30AM on a Sunday. Knowing that I wake up extremely early and no Thai place is open that early on a Sunday is disappointing. Luckily, Wondee was there for me. It was a little before opening time, but they let my sad, hungry self in anyway, quite happily. Order and food came immediately. I ordered their lunch special. Their curry puffs and spring rolls are small, but amazing! And it’s absolutely so worth it. I had their pad thai(of course) and it was also great! Looks like a small portion but will have you so full. They also had sweet sticky rice with mango. The mango was a bit raw, but the rice was so coconuty, I loved it. If you like coconut flakes, but softer in the texture of rice, you’ll definitely love this dessert. It’s seasonal, so hopefully you visit in season! The thai iced tea is sweet and just bomb! And of course, my sad, hungry self left happy and full.

It is really Thai!!! I ordered mango salad, the mango was exactly the kind I tried in Thailand. The steaky rice was also very good. The best Thai food I had in New York till now.

Liked it but didn’t love it. Pad Thai was pretty average. The dunkin noodles were good however. Fresh spring rolls were nothing creative. I got a Pom Hurricane and it tasked like a vodka cran in a rocks glass. But…the silver lining… it is NOT expensive so maybe I should throttle back my expectations. If I went to Columbia Univ, I’d probably go here a lot. It’s decent Thai food and my guess is most college students would give it another star because it doesn’t break the bank.

Honestly, this place is better than Thai market. The price is very reasonable for $ 5 you get 6 wings and the chef dishes are all around $ 11~12. Food tasted good, too. The service is warm and friendly(also better than Thai Market). The one star off is for the weird smell inside the restaurant, for whatever reason.

There’s a reason Thai Market, across the Avenue, is usually full at dinnertime, while you’ll never have to wait to get a table at Wondee Siam V. The food here is just sub-par. It’s hard to say anything good about a Thai restaurant that can’t even get Pad Thai right, making it way too sweet and tangy to be palatable. The red curry, meanwhile, tastes like nothing. It lacks heat or any discernable flavour. Thai iced tea was a disappointment too. I’d give it one star but I can imagine ways it could be worse, so I’ll be charitable.

The Thai competition on this block is ridiculous. We used to get our Thai delivery from here exclusively until a competitor opened right next to them, and then we tried there for awhile.(They’re a franchise, so their food is standard, but they charge a $ 2 delivery fee for no good reason.) To make matters worse, there’s also Thai Market across the street. I’m always perplexed by how most people in the area tend to go to TM to dine-in, but to be honest, the food itself is seriously overrated(more on that in another review; the noodles are just kinda soggy and not chewy like they’re supposed to, which is just pure laziness). The food at Wondee is pretty excellent I have to say for delivery, even though the dine-in experience might not be the best. The prices for lunch are unbeatable, and their classic menus — pad thai, the curries etc — are pretty solid. I’m definitely going back to Wondee now for my Thai cravings.

This is your classic and consistent Thai delivery. Pad Thai is what it’s supposed to be, drunken noodles are chewy & spicy the way I like them. Spring rolls are just okay but think I might just be getting tired from ordering them too often. Curry dishes are all stellar and can’t go wrong. Again, solid Thai delivery and tough to mess up the order.

Yummy Pad Thai and curry puffs! Stopped in a few weeks ago for an early dinner. We enjoyed the Thai beer specials a lot! They have a great lunch special deal but unfortunately we were there too late. The front windows open all the way to create a nice indoor outdoor space which was lovely. Of Thai in the neighborhood my boyfriend and I enjoyed this spot much better than Thai market across the street and equal to Tum and Yum. We’ll have to go back to both for further evaluation!

Avoid the pork menus! I have been a fan of Wondee Siam V and have ordered a variety of dishes. However, lately the pork menus taste funny, and the meat smells sour after a few days of putting the food in the fridge. This has never been a problem to me, and usually Thai food I ordered generally last easily for up to a week. This has happened in two separate occasions that I ordered from the restaurant. Avoid pork menus!

Amazing fried calamari & mojitos! The service was decent, nothing to rave about. The food was served rather quickly and with accuracy. I also had the fried rice with chicken which was tasteless & not to my liking. The atmosphere was great for a quick lunch and it was super affordable.

I have been ordering from Wonee for the past year and it has been a delight every time! This review will be on my visit this past week with a friend for lunch. First, the lunch special is an absolute steal and is so affordable! We got an appetizer, a main dish, tea, and it was all still under $ 10 – 12. The food was affordable however the flavor was not compromised, nor was the dish size, it was a full sized meal which was wonderful! I love to order for delivery(however they don’t deliver to my new address, major sad face), because the Pad Thai is off the hook! Definitely recommend and every time I’ve been, the service has been impeccable. Totally recommend!

Delivery took forever. Over an hour and forty five minutes for something said to take no more than an hour. Food was cold and deep fried stuff was soggy for having been in transit so long after cooking. :(don’t go here. :(

This place is ok, service wasn’t slow like others mentioned here. Granted the place wasn’t packed for the lunch rush either. We got 2 lunch specials, pad Thai and ginger beef. I would not recommend the ginger dish or the beef. The beef was pretty nasty looking and the dish was plain. However, pad Thai was very tasty. Soups, both Tom yum and Tom Kai were great and come with lunch special. To save some money, come here for lunch. Service very good

Went there yesterday and have had delivery a couple of times before. Decent Thai food, but by no means extraordinary. What with Thai Market across the street, there’s not much of a reason to come here unless you’re looking for cheaper prices. Their lunch specials are very well prices, so I was really happy with how much I got for what I paid. Like I said though, decent thai food but if you can afford the few extra bucks, cross the street to Thai Market.

Pretty good neighbourhood thai! Came late on a weeknight so service was extremely efficient. We ordered the kra prow, the kao soi and some thai style ribeye. Everything was great except for the ribeye — but then again I love steak so it’s to be expected. The sauce that came with the steak was wonderful though. The chicken in the kao soi was very tender and the soup very flavourful. Kra prow tasted very authentic but could be a bit more spicy — I think they toned it down for non-thai people. I’d definitely come back when I’m in the neighbourhood and feeling for thai.

Most of my friends are all big fans of Thai Market across the street but when I crave pad thai, I always come to Wondee. There’s something sweet about the pad thai that I love which is why I come back every now and then. The menu is pretty extensive so if you don’t like sweet pad thai, I’m sure there is something else you might like. Their mango sticky rice dessert is also one of my favorites. They have lunch specials and happy hours which I have only been to once. It used to be $ 8 for lunch but now is $ 9.50 for lunch. For the price increase, I deducted a star since Vine, Ollies, AND Thai Market have cheaper lunch deals. For summer happy hour, it wass $ 4-$ 5 a drink. Their drinks are pretty decently strong for their price so kudos to that. HOWEVER, recently, every time I’ve sat down and have eaten here, the service has been very slow which deducts another star. It is usually empty at Wondee since most Columbia students eat at Thai Market even though it is more expensive which is why I’m confused as to why it takes so long to order and to get our food. I hate that I have to flag down a waitress multiple times for a water refill or to ask where my food is. I’m not sure what happened in the past three years but I used to be a huge fan of Wondee. If the service were better at Wondee and if their lunch special went back down to $ 8, I would recommend it more. From now, I’ll order at Thai Market.

The food is actually pretty strong for delivery Thai(the various curries especially), but the delivery service is highly unreliable. I’ve ordered items with chicken and gotten shrimp instead. I’ve had missing items. Delivery times are normally 1.5−2x the length of the Seamless window. If they cleaned up their service – essential for a business which I’m guessing is heavily geared toward delivery customers – this would be one of the best options in the area given food quality. Until then, proceed with caution.

get: iced tea. tum yum soup. chicken wings. pad thai. fried rice. mango sticky rice. BEEFNOODLESOUP(meatball and brisket mixed). do not get if you are afraid of spicy: the bamboo shoot chef entrée food comes slow. ice cream tempura comes flared up.

OK so, I order here just about on a daily basis =X. Which proves how much I love this place, but I had to take off one star … why do you ask? Read on to find out … In my first year of living in the area I ordered here at least 4x/week. I loved their fried chicken, pork chops, fried rice, pad thai, pad see ew, papaya salad, and laab gai. More recently I’ve fallen in love with their panang curry and thai salad … that peanut dressing is the best I’ve had so far in the city. The main reason I’d order there so often is because I always knew what I’d be getting, which was amazing Thai food. I do add in some special requests here in there with the papaya salad though; i.e. no string beans. None-the-less, they did not disappoint. After 6 months or so the dishes started to change, i.e. the laab gai chicken would be in strips instead of minced and sometimes it would have mint(which i hate) or other times they forget to make a dish spicy — and more recently they consistently forget to deliver both orders of jasmine rice. These inconsistencies have forced me to take off a star, but will not stop me from ordering/going here. I just have to be VERY exact as to what I don’t want on my dishes since I’m not sure whose making it each time. My Favorites? — pad thai — thai salad — laab gai — panang curry — papaya salad (Oh, and they have great lunch specials if you can catch it!!) Enjoy!
