Just… no. To reiterate Gabriel’s review which we both agreed to at the time of its conception: «Bottomless? More like „Bottom-letsforgetaboutourpatrons“. I went here yesterday with my girlfriend, and to be honest the food was above par. The steak and eggs were really good, so were the eggs benedict over crabcakes. As for the service: terrible. I know sometimes these places that offer bottomless drinks are told to just wait for the customer to ask for a refill, but here is where it gets ridiculous. I finished my drink, went to the bathroom and came back, finished my entire meal then asked for a refill TWICE(to a waiter that wasn’t even ours) and then finally 15 minutes after all of that(an 8oz steak and home fries/eggs still in my throat cause I couldn’t wash it down with water since we didn’t get any) I finally get my refill. I understand if you’re told to lag a little on the bottomless, but that much wait time for a single refill + snarky attitude by some waiters just watching the NFC Championship? Not worth it. The only reason this gets 2 stars is because of the food and the hostess who seems to be the only person doing their job above the standard.»

Oh stecchino! You let me down!!! What happened? I loved this place. I bought all of the livingsocial, groupon, kgb deals I could find for their brunch. They had always kept the drinks flowing and the food was so good… but then… So I went back with one final brunch deal. I was excited about the food because I knew it to be so yummy from before. What a let down! BF got steak and eggs. wow NO flavor on the steak ATALL. I mean, seriously, it was just a slab of meat. I was debating between the chicken parm and a burger, but I ended up getting the burger. It was just OK. the best part of the meal were the fries. ALSO, the servers totally tried to cut us out of our unlimited drink deal, hurrying us along and telling us we had run out of time! I pointed out that they say its 1 ½ hours unlimited and he said«yes, you’ve been here for an hour and a half» I kindly reminded him we had NOT. we hadn’t even been there an hour. After a bit of debate, the server finally agreed that we had come in less than an hour ago, but then we got dirty looks from who I am guessing is the manager. *sigh* Once upon a time you were a good place, stecchino… now. I doubt I’ll return.

Great brunch spot for a younger crowd: tasty food, strong drinks, variety of choices of entrees. NOT A ROMANTICSPOT for brunch! Rather loud and crowded. Service is just ok, nothing spectacular or noticeable. Good location if you have plans later on in the city. Street parking: BEWARE! The area is very congested and practically no street parking/metered parking available except on Sundays.

Let me start off by saying the waitress was just rude. We had reservations for 1:30pm today. $ 20 bottomless brunch + you have purchase a meal. Which isn’t bad. We waited 10 mins to be serviced. Granted it was busy, but the woman had an attitude. I got the steak(medium) with sunny side eggs, and home fries. My dish was good. My friend ordered the same thing as well but scrambled. However hers was still«mooing». Pink!!! Nasty. I felt bad. We didn’t say anything because it was one side of the steak. Didn’t want to be a pain. Moving on, it took so long to get our«bottomless» drinks. I felt like she didn’t want to be bothered or she was just slow. She finally came around with a pitcher and left it at the table. Didn’t really help me much because I was the only one who had a Bloody Mary. I had to hunt her down for my drink! It says on the menu 90 min brunch. The waitress comes up to us and goes sorry guys, your time is up. Wait, what? We waited 10 mins for her to take our order & another 13 mins for the drinks to come. Your kidding right? We still had about another 20 mins left. I told her the time we sat down & the time our drinks came–(someone texted me right when we sat down) I knew the exact time. She’s like, oh the machine must be wrong. No lady, your wrong. Time is finally up. So now it’s time to pay the bill, my friend had something for $ 50 off. We used it of course. The manager comes over and says there’s a problem with the machine. He needed to see the email. Whatever, fine. So it finally went through & we were expecting change back. He doesn’t bring it back. Still waiting, nothing. Why would you assume we are leaving a $ 40 tip. That waitress was lucky we left her $ 33. Tips shouldn’t be mandatory. I don’t even know why we left her that much. I guess I felt bad for her because she was running around. Her attitude sucked though. I saw how she acted with other people. It was totally different. Maybe she wasn’t in the mood. 5 customers, 5 drinks she had to keep serving. I wouldn’t come back. There are plenty other places in nyc.

Every time I eat here it’s like the management and staff changes hands. The food always tastes different. It actually works out sometimes. One time my visit was miserable. My entrée was a flavorless, overcooked chicken breast served next to sad, frumpy-looking potatoes. The cocktails could be kindly described as «academic» or harshly described as «disgusting.» Then the next visit was wonderful, with flavorful pasta and a branzino dish that was perfectly tender and delicious cocktails and wine. If you want to spin the wheel of fortune at this place, go right on ahead. I do it all the time anyway.

Stopped in last night for dinner with a Travelzoo voucher. The deal was for 4 cocktails(or a $ 50 credit for a bottle of wine), a shared appetizer, and two entres. I made a reservation for 7:15– which it turns out was pretty uneccessary, as there were plenty of tables free when we walked in. Stecchino appears to be sort of an upscale tavern– but the TV’s by the bar make it a bit more casual. They had great music playing all night(lots of Damien Rice), and overall great ambience– very relaxed. The service was just okay from start to finish. Our server was very nice, but he never checked in for drink refills and it was kind of hard to get his attention. To drink, I had a basil gimlet– it was way too sweet for my taste and I definitely wouldn’t pay $ 11 for it. They have some good beer on tap though, which you can’t really beat at $ 5. We split the fried artichoke hearts for an app. They were very salty, but soft in the middle and lightly fried. The app also came out very quickly and was super hot– thumbs up, there. For entrées, we got the trout and the gnocchi– both of which came I’m generous proportions. The trout was crispy and served with a raspberry sauce that was very good. It also came with a tricolor polenta cake that looked really cool, but tasted a little strange to me(though, admittedly, I don’t like polenta). The gnocchi was very soft and served with a big ball of soft cheese in the center– very good, but the pine nuts threw me off a bit. Altogether, the food was good, but its a tad expensive if you’re going without a voucher.

I’ve been to Stecchino several times for brunch. has a brunch deal for $ 29 unlimited cocktails and 2 entrees. When I first brunched here the deal seemed unbelievable because we were able to get quality alcohol and a large menu. I went last weekend and the menu was narrowed down and the only thing worth eating was the steak and eggs option or the burger. The burger was delicious and cooked to perfection but the steak I ordered was not great. Very fatty and it was not medium well as I ordered. The mimosas were tasty but the gin and tonics were watered down. The service is great here. Sunday’s can be a bit loud and a bit crowded. I recommend brunching here on a Saturday if possible.

Stecchino is located on a stretch of 9th Ave with a lot of restaurants and bars. It’s also walking distance from my apartment, so I’ve been there several times for dinner and brunch. I don’t think I’d go across town for Stecchino, but it’s a good choice if you’re in the neighborhood. The food is tasty but forgettable. I literally can’t remember anything I’ve eaten there, but it’s always tasted good. The unlimited mimosas at brunch were very strong and they refill them quickly. Portion sizes are pretty small for the price, but I’ll be back anyway.

Good quality burgers and excellent drink specials. Do not get the salmon burger though, it’s dry and boring. Get the steak and eggs and enjoy!

I went last night for a date and I was not impressed. I would have given them two stars, but I spent all of today sick to my stomach. First, the service was terrible. Our server(Alaine) took 15 minutes to bring us our first drinks. He didn’t put in our appetizer. He also didn’t fix that he didn’t put in our appetizer — the manager put it in for us. He didn’t check on us after the food was brought out. And, we had to flag him down for a second round of drinks, which didn’t come until all of our food was gone and we were ready for the check. We timed it. He took more than 15 minutes from when we ordered them. Second, those $ 11 cocktails? The first round was great. The second round was abysmal. I ordered Fruit of the Loom — Sauvignon Blanc, pear vodka, muddled grapes. I received a glass of wine with a cherry in it. Third, the food was ok. Until it made me sick. It’s been 24 hours and I’m still not feeling well. DONOT go here. I’ve heard that it was once a solid spot. Clearly that is over.

If you are looking for a boozy brunch in mid-town, Stecchino in Hells Kitchen will keep the drinks flowing. Their Saturday and Sunday brunch is raucous, inebriating and the food is decent. I recommend the Smoked Salmon Benedict with 2 poached eggs on top of English muffins with smoked salmon and hollandaise topped with salmon caviar. I also like the turkey burger that comes with a mixed salad and no bun. The Italian-inspired pub grub is consistently good. However, most of the patrons come for the bottomless beverages: mimosa, bloody mary, sparkling wine… The interior is rustic with dark wood and old-world charm but the ambiance is lively, young and tipsy.

Some good dishes, good sides, but could be better. *Note* My review is based on take-out only. Food: 3.25 Stars Some of their dishes are leaps and bound better than others here. Crab Cake Sandwich — After coming back from Maryland I had a craving for crab cakes. However they don’t compare to the crab cakes in Maryland or even the majority of crab cakes I’ve had in NY for that matter. The flavors didn’t blend together that well and it was rather bland. It is called a Maryland Crab Cake, but it’s nowhere even close to it. Beef Burger — This burger was delicious. The gorgonzola cheese and especially the radicchio made it an amazing burger, but it was a tad bit too salty. The sauce blended well and the burger was cooked med-rare/medium. I couldn’t ask for more. French Fries — I don’t know what it is, but the fries are excellent. Although they were a bit salty when I had the burger, but that is negligible since they were so good. Service: 3 Stars The service is what you would expect from most restaurants in the city. My one warning is not to go to this restaurant during off-peak periods or during a big sporting event because the servers will pay a bit more attention to the television than they should. Then again, I don’t blame them when some big games of the World Cup were occurring when I went(since it’s a once in every 4 year event). Speed: 3.5 Stars Knowing this is a restaurant that is casual, but has more of a high end feel, I took my time to pick up my food. On one occasion I had to wait approximately 5 minutes for my food after arriving almost 30 minutes after placing my order. The restaurant at the time had very few tables occupied, so I can’t really give much of an excuse for the wait. It was only 5 minutes, but crab cakes shouldn’t take almost 20 – 30 minutes to prepare. Ambiance: 4 Stars I’m sure during peak hours before Broadway shows the restaurant must be a nice atmosphere. The décor is nice and I feel I could enjoy a nice meal with friends and family. Overall: 3.25 I’ve ordered from Stecchino a few times. While I have not been disappointed by the food, I was not anywhere close to being blown away. One part of the dish will be great, but another part will make you say, «What are they thinking with this?» This restaurant is worth a try, but don’t expect the best meal you have ever had. If anything I would say its standard from what you would except in the city.

Stecchino’s is a LOVELY place for brunch. I’m sure I remember that that is the case. I had a very nice breakfast of some sort that I enjoyed, and my friends all enjoyed their meals too. Yes, it was perfectly fine and… um… MIMOSAS!!! Yes, the mimosas! They were outstanding! Served in balloon wineglasses that were as large as my head, they were the PERFECT accompaniment to the lovely breakfast, and the friends, and the conversation, and the day, and the waiter was so lovely and SO unstinting in pouring glass after glass after glass of tasty tasty mimosas! Things are a teensy bit of a blur after that. I hope I remembered to pay…

On a hunt for Italian before the theater. Like: the food immensely, a good portion and fairly good value for the money though I felt it was a couple of dollars overpriced per dish. Dislike: the service. At all. We had some language barriers, a full out deny for a sauce change request for pasta, cheese/pepper coming out halfway between the meal and a request for another drink and never getting it. On our way out someone else was complaining to the manager about their bad service as well. Seems to be a trend.

Not too Impressed by this place. I went for brunch with a friend because we had a groupon. Honestly, if it weren’t for the groupon, I probably wouldn’t have gone to this place. The waitress was kind of rude right off the bat. The brunch deal had 2 pitchers of mimosas or bloody Mary’s. When I ordered a mimosa, I thought I was getting a pitcher. Instead, it was just a drink. I questioned it and she said the deal is not for pitchers anymore… what?! That makes a big difference. Then she said the deal is unlimited drinks for 90 minutes. That’s fine, but she really didn’t seem to know what she was talking about and was rude about it. The food was pretty good– I got the Mexican omelet. I was more disappointed with the rude attitude of the waitress and how condescending she was about the groupon deal. My friend also ordered a Bloody Mary(which weren’t that good anyway) and she never brought it! We just said forget it. What’s also bad is that the tip was included in the bill … I def didn’t want to tip her that much but because I want good karma I did anyway. Def don’t plan on returning really. The deal didn’t end up being that good because of the fixed tip… not worth it for the service. I can get much better brunch at a much better price in astoria!!!
