5 guys is always crowded… Which in this case is both positive and negative. Think chipotle. The lines are long because the food is great. The lunch lines are always packed and expect a wait. The burgers are huge and very juicy and the toppings are always just right. The reason for the 4 stars are only because of the lack of customer service. I feel as though I’m being rushed. While this 5 guys location isn’t being advertised as a fast food place, but a sit down and enjoy your meal, I feel as though if I sit down I’d annoy the staff here. Great place. Come and enjoy

Not gonna lie, this is probably the best burger spot on base. Definitely come hungry on this one. Just come here with plenty of time or pre order on grub hub app. There’s always a line here. The downfall of this place is that they don’t offer the full menu. Trust me there’s a difference and there’s no complementary peanuts served here. But if your on base and are really hungry, swing by.

The food itself, I am five months pregnant and felt I needed some greasy goodness in my belly so that is why I chose this place. Honestly, I am NOT one to go to a place like this because I don’t like to spend an arm and a leg to get something that could possibly cause me to loose said arm and leg because of how unhealthy it is. Now don’t get me wrong, it was oh so good, but after I ate it-i felt sick. All that grease and crap I lodged into my belly was more than enough to let me survive the winter. Don’t even get me started on the prices for this place.. .yes they serve good amounts of food, but it is at the cost to your wallet and health. All of my food was cooked fast, considering I met my husband there for the lunch rush. Our food was hot, delicious(while consuming it), and all correct.

I’m not impressed with Five Guys. I have eaten at this location many times and I still wonder why I go there. Probably because of the lack of options for me on Norfolk Naval Station. Here are my observations on Five Guys: Frist of all, they are over priced. I usually order the little cheeseburger and a drink and my bill is over seven dollars. I skip the fries, because I can’t justify spending 12 bucks on a mediocre meal. Second, the burgers are a sloppy mess. Yes, I know that sometimes a sloppy burger can be really good, but this is not one of those times. My burgers I get are always soggy. I hate to say this, but you’re better off going to McDonald’s…just saying. Oh, but I really love the music the cooks play there and sometimes you just might catch one of them singing along :)

Here is where I let my personal views get into the way of a review. If I am on the search for a large hamburger and fry combo, this is a good place to go. However, at the end of the meal, my wallet is much lighter and I feel horrible that I just ate all that meat and grease. First is that the service here is fine. The food is greasy goodness and I really think that it is tough to screw that up. The portions are large, but what really bothers me is the price. I dont think you can leave a 5 Guys without spending over $ 10 for a full meal. I would rather spend about $ 5 for a sub or a cold cut sandwich, than to continually shell out those sort of duckets. So this is where I place 5 Guys into the hierarchy of fast food. If you want a burger, fry, and cola at any cost, and money and your health is no issue, by all means, roll up on 5 Guys and have at it. In my mind, they are nothing special and over-priced.
