They never, NEVER open on time and for some reason I always want a hotdog at 11am. If your not going to open on time than dont put an opening time on yout website! Bullshit!
Now that I got that out of my system.. .
Very good dogs and a great addition to my favorite boardwalk. Maybe with a little staffing Improvment they could get four stars.

I found this place on Unilocal,I have been yearning for a hot dog. We decided to walk over to the dog shack and grab a hot dog. I got a chilli dog and my mom got a naked dog. The hot dog was pretty good to be because I’m not picky when it comes to hot dogs but the chilli and the hot dog was a bit cold. I was hoping for a nice hot hot dog but it was kind of cold. My mom didn’t like her dog, the bread was over powering she says. If the hot dog was a couple dollars cheaper it would have matched the experience.

It’s all in the bun. I don’t know who supplies there hotdogs buns but WOW are they delicious. The all beef dog that slides inside has a nice bite and holds up nicely to the bun. I love the variety of dogs from avocado to chili to bacon and cheese. Order a dog based on your mood and know that your getting a taste of a true American classic.

Grilled hot dog, but taste and feel like it was boiled. I am very particular about my dog to bread ratio and the bread is too much for the size dog. I ended up eating half of the bun with my dog and throwing the other half away.
They have a lot of great toppings in order to make your perfect dog. However, the kicker for me is they charged me $ 0.25 for ketchup and mustard. I understand bacon, cheese, chili, which sounds like a great hot dog, even charge me for sauerkraut. But, ketchup and mustard are tools of the trade and are free everywhere else on the boardwalk.
I will not recommended.

Excellent place. I had the California burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had. The manager and worker were very friendly. We asked to try one of their homemade chips and they gave us a whole plate of them for free! Go here if you want a burger or dog in OC.

Had a hot dog with cole slaw and sweet onion. It was the best hot dog I ever ate. I’ve never had anything quite like that before and look forward to going back again!
My wife said the pork roll was made perfect. She loves pork roll but is picky about how it’s made. The Dog Shack made it just the way she likes it.

This was our first time trying The Dog Shack, we ended up going back of couple of times. Everything is cooked to order. While they are known for their dogs, their burgers are awesome. We fell in love with the Jersey Burger, which has corn salad and bacon on top. Absolutely delicious with the cold crispy corn salad and the hot burger with bacon. Also, their mac and cheese bites were delicious as was the onion rings.
The only down side is that there is no real seating (4 bar stools and a counter on the side) and not a lot of room to maneuver, so if it’s busy, it’s a little cramped waiting for your order. Additionally, you have the fun of the dive bombing seagulls trying to get your food — so try to get everything wrapped up so you can save your food.

Love the grilled cheese and the chips are awesome! Fried Mac-n-cheese bites are a great beach treat! The service is always friendly! A must visit when on the beach or boardwalk!

If you are looking for a good dog at the shore, The Dog Shack is the place to get it. Fresh buns from Liscio’s bakery in Philly go perfect with the good size dogs served here. There are p, entry of options to try here. I had the Dare Devil Dog and it was fantastic! Jalapeño slices, long hots, chili powder, and Siracha make for a spicy but flavorful dog. I also had the Texas Dog with all meat chili and onions which was also terrific.
The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review was price. However, when you are in the boardwalk, prices are always on the high side, no matter where you are getting your food.
I highly recommend The Dog Shack!

The shack has a wide variety of hot dogs based on the flavors of American Cities and States. Th California dog was incredible. It had bacon, avocado, and chipotle mayo. I love the Dog Shack!

Ok, so for some reason burgers don’t come to mind right away when you think of the shore. But, that’s what I was looking for tonight… a REALLY GOOD bacon cheeseburger. I didn’t think I was going to get my wish, but I got more than that at the Dog Shack!!!
I had a bacon cheese burger… every part of that burger was FRESH!!! Instead of fries they serve homemade chips… I had mine with sea salt and black pepper and a side of whiz. DELICIOUS!!!
He told me about his falafel burger and I plan on going back to pick one up for my husband. He told me they make it fresh as well.
Ok, now besides all of that, I believe it was the proprietor who served me. He clearly is in it to win it with this business. He was friendly, talkative, and I sincerely hope that his business takes off.

This place is a fantastic addition to OCNJ. If you’re looking for fresh ingredients, phenomenal flavors, and mouth watering delights, look no further! This place has it all. The frozen daquaris are guaranteed to help beat the heat and quench your thirst. My favorite is the piña colada but the watermelon is equally fantastic. All entrees looked amazing but I went with the California dog. Piled high with bacon, avocado, and chipotle mayo for an eating experience like no other. To top it off, the service was fast, friendly, and helpful. Definitely a new favorite boardwalk stop!!!

Awesome owners and amazing dogs. The toppings are piled on picture perfect and the ingredients very fresh. Nice and clean place and food, even for someone always wary of hot dogs. They let us sample the watermelon ice daiquiri and we were hooked; just the right amount of everything made for a very refreshing beverage. Would love to come back and try it again!
