The service here is lacking at most. Service is slow, there were several angry customers waiting for their food. The girl working at the cashier line seem to want to chat with the cool more than making food. The owners needs to do something. Faster service, especially for lunch when people are limited to a set amount of time. I don’t have a set lunch time but you can see other customers pretty angry about their wait time.

Worst experience ever! I ordered the #2 katsu combo and went home to find out that they lefted out the actual katsu chicken! They only had the lettuce and Mac salad. I’m demanding a refund on that. Was not gonna drive 30mins to just get my chicken. Waste of my time. Never coming back!

Haven’t been here in a long time. This will be the last. The prices have gone up. It’s a rip off. Don’t bother eating here. The food tasted old as well. Go some place else. For what you pay and the quality you can get a better deal buying a can of dog food and eating it. This place has gone downhill fast. Never again.

Every time I come here I order Spam Masubi. The place looks a little funky and you have to order $ 5 or more to be able to use your debit card but that’s fine because I get to order spam Masubi and a Hawaiian drink :)

This used to be the best Hawaii BBQ place in Orange County. The new girl they have behind the counter(Purima is her name) is so rude and awful. Sure it’s not a glamorous job, but a little pride in your work will go a long way. Change your attitude. l, and don’t wipe your runny nose with your hand and touch utensils. HEALTHHAZARD. Sorry to call you out on here but I do not see a corporate number, and, judging by other reviews on Unilocal, the new management doesn’t care to step in and save their dying business. I’ll never go here again. Be warned, future patrons.

The food is delicious BUT the little girl at the front desk is rude i can feel she knows me everytime i go because she dosent talk shes like always fed up or something always bothering her. I think shes irritated of kids coming in idk what to think. I always eat here regardless of her attitude but im always tense thinking shes staring at us or looking and listening to everything we do. I brought my sister in law ine day and first thing she mentioned was the little girls(cashier) attitude i was like yes thank you im glad im not the only one. Now a days i call in my order so she dosent know who i am because i fear her with my food. I eat at home. Anyways the food is amazing but i still dont appreciate her rude way of talking.

The food was OK and didn’t seem too authentic. I have had better Hawaaian BBQ elsewhere.

I came here at 8:45 and all the chairs were already on the table and they told me they couldn’t make any of the fried foods which is literally half of their menu. I left without having enough time to go to any other Hawaiian places in the area because they all also close at 9 pm. Way to waste my time. Open means you can actually make the food if you’re a food place at least turn off your open sign.

Yum, that’s all I can say! Their bbq chicken lunch special has always held a special place in my heart! Plus, I don’t know what they put in it, but that macaroni salad is amazing!(and I honestly don’t even like macaroni salad in general) I also really enjoy the spam musubi, and their potstickers. This is what you see made in a lot of restaurants in Hawaii, so it’s a nice take back to Hawaii during your lunch!

This place had horrible service! I ordered teriyaki chicken and when I got my receipt it said bbq chicken. I go up to the girl who goes by the name(Cora) and kindly tell her this isn’t what I ordered. And her response was yes you did(«you said bbq chicken») I then tell no that’s not what I ordered and can you please make teriyaki she then proceeds to argue with me about it. And telling me there the same thing. I would never go there again the service was rude and I lost my appetite at the end:(

My go to Hawaiian food at work! They give big portions to feed one and a half a person.

Cant believe people eat here. The environment is dark and cold with fruity wall colors from the 90’s. We dont have a good Hawaiian spot near by so came here to eat but decided to take it to go. Food is average, and whatevers. You know its ran by the employees without a manager because the cook just hangs out outside until there is an owner. And there is this big bush in the middle of the room which was probably a salad bar, but I have no idea why its still here. The server reminds me of a dmv employee, boring and hating work.

This is a review solely for service, Unilocal has this location for closing at 9pm on Sunday. I pulled up at 7:21pm and all the chairs were set up on table and floor was mopped clean. I walked in and ask if there still open, the girl turns to me and says yes TOGO orders only. I look at the menu and she’s standing at the register first tapping her fingers, then after a few seconds of me still looking at the menu she starts slapping her hand on the register waiting for me to order so she can get the hell out of there. No thanks, I walked out and said I don’t need to be rushed trying to order. I only gave this place a try because all other local Hawaiian are closed on Sundays. Next time drive the extra 5 miles to Santa Ana or Fullerton.

Lunch special for BBQ chicken or chicken katsu for only $ 5.25!!! It’s made fresh and their teriyaki sauce with siracha makes the food so good. Comes with rice and macaroni

We were starving and Hawaiian food sounded so good. Ordered kalua pork & cabbage and Hawaiian fried rice. Kalua pork & cabbage($ 9.25): the pork was a tad dry. Hawaiian fried rice($ 9.45): the first two bites were okay because I was hungry. Hawaiian drink($ 1.55): canned drink. 2.5 stars! Waikiki Hawaiian Grill is not yummylicious!

Our favorite plates here are the BBQ mix and the Hawaiian fried rice and of course a side of macaroni salad. These plates come with a good amount of food and we normally share. The fried rice has chicken, beef and couple pieces of shrimp. You will also get grilled pieces of pineapple, which I just set aside. The BBQ mix has chicken, beef and a rib with sticky white rice and salad. These dishes I would rate a 3.5 star rating. We’ve tried the chicken katsu and I wasn’t a fan. The chicken had fat and was more breading than meat. The macaroni salad is creamy and tasty but I’ve had a bit better. The spam musubi was ok. I dip it in the teriyaki sauce for the right bite. They do catering here and I’ve never tried it because it is pricy. Definitely call in your order if taking it to go to avoid the wait. The food is okay and since it is close to home gives another option for a meal.

Had the Hawaiian bbq chicken and shrimp fried rice. Food tasted flavorful and fresh. The rice was soft, veggies were tasty. The macaroni was excellent. It was my favorite. It’s so soft. The shrimp fried rice was about average. They could have more shrimp in it. Good portion sizes. Discount if you come during lunch time. Would return to try their other dishes.

First — Counter service was uncaring and unhelpful. Having never been here, asking for a suggestion should yield at least«this is our most popular seller.» Second — To the food, I got the Kahlua Pork and Cabbage plate. It was probably one of the saltiest things I have ever eaten. Not sure if they just screwed it up that day, or I’m becoming a senile old man. It was like eating a massive mound of shredded salt. While the meat was tender, probably due to the salt, it was inedible. Did I say salt? It was salty. I had to force most of it down out of hunger, and just ended up throwing it away. In addition, I went during lunch because of lunch specials and thought it would be a good way to try the place out, as specials were mentioned in other reviews, but nothing was posted anywhere on the menu as far as I could tell. To top off the bad food experience, the place was filled with high school football players throwing quarters around and shouting at each other, which likely isn’t every day, but just made the experience more unpleasant. Probably won’t return, but hopefully this place improves. I really wanted to enjoy my meal.
