Well let me just say WOW! This restaurant is incredible. The food is so good and taste like true Italian food and the price is right compared to Georgie’s across the street. The staff are perfect and very nice. I have tried the chicken piccata and it was amazing the bread and salad that comes with your meals are just amazing the bread is true home made bread like my grandmother cooked it. This establishment is being moved to a high priority of places I go for lunch. You should try it.

This palace really reminded my to husband and I of little mom’s and pap’s restaurants in Italy. I’m a bit surprised with all the bad reviews… Yes service wasn’t the quickest but we had a great time enjoying the place, garlic bread, and their house salad(which was wonderful and had just right balance of dressing and fresh herbs to my taste) while waiting for the dishes. They were making everything fresh! All five entrees, which our party had ordered, were fantastic. Portions were VERY generous. Not chain american restaurant kind of huge but very generous nevertheless. Our server was just wonderful!

The waiter was very sweet, but the food was absolutely atrocious, over priced & embarrassingly small! My mother & I ordered veal parm & it was literally so small, I was embarrassed for the restaurant. The pasta & sauce had so much oregano, I literally choked! We also had fish with angel hair & spinach. The sauce tasted like lemon water & the spinach was bitter & barely cooked! The only delicious thing was the garlic bread, BUT the waiter asked us as we sat immediately if we would like some, which um yeah… Of course we did… Only to get the check & see we were charged $ 3 for it! We will pay a great deal of money for good food but how rude!!! You should tell your guest they are going to be up charged for an item that you offered them! Don’t go to this restaurant!

This was our first time here, we were craving Italian and we were going to go across the st, but they were closed for a private event so we found Casa Sorrento. When we walked in we found it to be a small place and pretty empty for a week night. We were their 2nd table for dinner. Service was good our waiter was very attentive. We had the lasagna and their fish plate. Both were excellent dishes the garlic bread was home made, the salad was ok. Would we go back, sure but it’s not top of our list. The atmosphere was missing something.

The food tasted ok but not extraordinary. The décor needs some updating. The prices were outrageous — $ 9 for the lunch portion of 4 raviolis. I «upgraded» my regular house salad to a Cesar salad and was charged the full $ 7 for my side Cesar salad which was a $ 3 salad at best.

White Fish Fillet(signature dish) delectible … my wife finished the whole dish — quite a complement! My Veal Saltibucco was wonderful — pepper and tomatoes added very well. Tiramisu(homemade) was the BEST in years … Highly recommend this local restaurant with personal attention … could use a better wine list selection and improved breads.

My husband and I went here on 7÷7÷12 to use our Living Social deal for a dinner for 2 and a bottle of wine. Our deal came with an appetizer, a meal each, and dessert as well as a white or red bottle of wine. Upon arrival, we walked in to a very small area with tables cramped together. It wasn’t cramped in a bad way, but please note that it may be hard to move around if you are in a wheelchair or on crutches. The décor is not strictly Italian(I noted a painting of London and a painting of France on the wall) but seems to fit together nicely anyways. This place had a few tables with customers, and some said reserved, but it was not full for a Saturday night at what I consider to be prime dinner time(7PM). I also noted that one of the front windows said«Gargi’s» which is now across the street and the menu holders still said«Wilfredo’s». I just thought that was odd… We were brought to the other side of the entry partition and asked which table we would like. We choose to sit next to the window, but after about 15 minutes we moved away from the window due to excessive heat. The place was not well cooled and we spent most of the meal a tad over-warm. The man who sat us and served us was very nice, if a bit forgetful. I believe he was in charge of the whole place for the evening. He asked us which appetizer and wine we wanted and brought the wine back to us in a fairly quick manner. I do not claim to «know» my wines, but I prefer red. I know it should be at «room temperature» and that means«cellar room temperature», between 60 – 70 degrees. This was NOT room temperature, or even«Florida» room temperature. It was extremely hot, making our seating choice next to the window worse and factoring in our decision to move tables. The waiter even knew it and he brought a glass of ice with the bottle, anticipating our need to cool it down. Until I cooled the wine down, it was undrinkable. We asked for ice water, but he didn’t bring it to us until the end of our meal, after asking for a 4th time. He brought us salads and bread, which was a pleasant surprise as I didn’t think it came with the meal. It was simple — iceburg lettuce, shredded carrot bits, a slice of tomato, and a heavy hand with the balsamic dressing. The bread tasted good. Basic white loaf with butter. I have come to expect an herb type bread and/or dipping olive oil with herbs from Italian places, but this was OK too. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and my husband had the Veal Picatta. I did not sample my husbands dish but he said he liked it. My dish was just OK. It wasn’t bad by any means, but didn’t seem to be top quality either(do I detect a bit of Campbell’s mushroom soup in the sauce?). Again, it truly wasn’t bad but tasted more like something I could make myself at home and not something I would want to pay $ 18 to get. For the most part, we were left alone throughout the meal, which was nice. For dessert, we ordered the cannoli. I have never had a cannoli before, and to be honest I could take it or leave it. Overall we probably wouldn’t return as there are tons of places around we want to try. This seems to be a solid little place, but I’m not sure how long it will last especially with the Italian restaurant Gargi’s and their lakeside seating across the street.

We went to that place because I bought a living social coupon for a dinner for two with a bottle of wine. Service was nice and attentive. Waters were refilled often and also the wine got poured when needed. The restaurant is pretty small, cozy and the décor is a matter of taste. Looks quite cluttered and a bit to opulent and plushy for my taste, but we came for the food and wine and the regular menu prices had us looking forward to a nice dining experience. Not so much though. Bottle of wine was okay, we picked red. As an appetizer we shared the calamari, they are sauteed and grilled(??) and come with some crumbly stuff around them and some tomato chunks in balsamic on the side(bruschetta). The bread that came with it was introduced as «plain bread» and man was that plain bread. Like a chunk of Cuban bread lightly burnt on the top. One good mannered guest might call it rustic… and single serve butter plastic cups with it. Looking back, I have to say that the bread was the best thing we had. The calamari are pretty small portion and we were actually glad. The two salads that were also part of the deal wee okay. Iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots a slice of roma tomato and balsamic. But hey, we were hungry. Our main course was the vegetarian tour of Italy with eggplant Parmesan, ziti marinara, and some sauteed spinach. The sauteed spinach was good. The marinara sauce way to sweet for my taste, but there was hardly any sauce on there so it didn’t really matter. Eggplant Parmesan had enough cheese, but all together we rather not finished it. The other main course, the white fish«special». The first bite of the angel hair with the Picatta sauce tasted like ramen noodles. I do not care much for capers, but since it’s part of the dish I thought I eat them, and I was so hoping to get some caper flavor to mask that glibbery sauce, but no luck. The portion of the white fish was good, but the fish wasn’t. The fish was lightly breaded and sauteed and was cooked correctly, but the quality was not the best. Still kinda translucent when cooked and a complete lack of flavor in that sauce had me put down my fork after two bites. I am not going to mention the tiramisu dessert, since i only had a bite and was done with that place. Since we didn’t try the veal or chicken, my hope for this place is that they are so outstanding, that it makes up for the ones we had, but I will not be the one giving it another try. Thank god for cheap red wine.

Worst experience EVER. So I got a gift certificate from and with the limited places offered around DT Orlando, we decided on Casa Sorrento in Ivanhoe Village(which is a pretty area). Ok here it goes… The ambiance was dead and eerie. The service was decent and quick, but only because the food was either reheated or store bought. Oh, our waiter was super creepy too! The house salad was drenched in balsamic, it was so overwhelming that I gaged from the acidity. The Garlic Italian bread(and water) was our favorite part, regular toasted bread with butter and garlic. Now, the entrée’s… The Lasagna was still cold on bottom and not fresh! Hot plate, cold food. What an oxymoron. Pasta cabornara was sub-par, definitely not worth $ 15. And to top it off. I don’t even know why we bothered to order dessert but we ordered the cannoli because they were featured in a magazine that pictured two BIGDELICIOUS looking canoli’s. We got 1 tiny 3 inch canoli for $ 6. I asked the waiter why the canoli was so different from the picture on the wall, he said«oh, that was for a showcase we did.» =X You can only imagine the horror in our faces when we got the check, they charged us for the freaking GARLICBREAD and already included the 18% gratuity. I would not refer this place on my worst enemy. Nuff’ said.

The atmosphere is tired, old Italian décor with fake flowers and votive candles on the tables that never got lit. The service was slow — we went on a Friday night and there was only one person in the dining room. He was the waiter, hostess and busboy all by himself. There were no menu specials, no checking back to see how our meal was, no refill of water until we were about to leave. We ordered chicken piccatta and veal marsala, both were fair. There was no style to the meal at all — no garnish, no sprinkling of parsley, plain white plates, and no grated parmesan cheese or ground black pepper was ever offered. The waiter/host/busboy guy wrote up our check by hand and did the math in his head, all which took painfully long! There was nothing about Casa Sorrento that makes me want to go back again.

Another Groupon mistake. Sorry, there are just a lot better options in Orlando than Casa Sorrento. My white fish over angle hair pasta and wilted spinach was good. Oscar the waiter was ok. Nothing else got a passing grade. The dining area is small(not cozy) cluttered and cramped. The furnishings are old(not eclectic) and the trace smell in the dining area was ever present(not pleasant). They were out of Caprese salad and out of Peroni beer. How can you be an Italian restaurant and be out of Caprese salad? Out of Peroni«…how about a bud light?» is not what you want to hear. The escargot appetizer was uninspired. Total for two w/2 drinks + tip approached $ 90. There were just too many distractions and disappointments to warrant anything better than 2 stars.

I have to post again about Casa Sorrento after my dinner there last Wednesday evening… This is the best Italian restaurant I have had the pleasure of eating at in Orlando. David, the chef, infuses unique flavors into all his dishes and is more than happy to customize each dish to your specific taste. The Fra Diavolo is the best I’ve ever had. The location is quaint and very cozy. Oscar, the Maitre d’, is very welcoming and will take care of you whether it is a business lunch with minimal interruptions or being attentive to all your requirements. What some might dislike is exactly what I like about Casa Sorrento — the creaks, the colors and the atmosphere — not to dissimilar to my favorite reataurants and cafes I experienced during my three years in Europe. If you want a great dish personalized to your specific tastes with the feeling of a quaint Italian café/restaurant, Casa Sorreto is the place in Central Florida.

I discovered Casa Sorrento because I bought a couple of Groupons for it. I had driven by it down Orange Avenue by Lake Avenue dozens of times without really ever taking a second glance. While the exterior is modest and not in anyway particularly noteworthy, once you get inside it’s a different story. The ambience here is really great! You feel like you have ducked into a corner restaurant in some hidden far away corner of Tuscany. You won’t only think that based on the interior. The ingredients seem shipped straight over from Italy as well! I’ve been on 3 separate occasions now and each time I’ve had something different and not been disappointed. Whether it’s traditional dishes like Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan or unique variations on white fish and manicotti, Casa Sorrento is sure to please your palette! Sidenote: Make sure to try the Tiramisu for dessert, the best in the city! The service from the minimal staff is anything but! Danielle and the Chef are both fantastic! I took a lady friend here for dinner before a play and she really loved it! Casa Sorrento: Perfect for taking lady friends– or anyone else.

This place was great– from the excellent service to the delicious food. We started off with the escargot with white wine and garlic sauce and the calamari. This calamari is the not the typical fried calamari with marinara sauce, it is lightly grilled topped off with some type of bruschetta sauce. The main entrée was their special dish of white fish in a savory lemon francese sauce, accompanied with a side of pasta. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parmigiana which was equally tasty. It was just the right amount of food, great portions. The owner was very nice to offer each of us a complimentary tiramisu dessert since we were celebrating my birthday!!! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a traditional italian meal, with a great atmosphere and wonderful service. I will definitely be coming back for more!!!

The service and food at this place both are great. The food you can tell is prepared fresh because it does not taste like your typical chain restaurants’ food. It is quite unique and I was pleasantly surprised by this. The cook introduced himself to us as well and the server was very acomodating and on top of things. The only complaint I have is the same as another reviewer I was reading with the garlic bread situation. They do ask if you want garlic bread, and the way it is offered you expect that it is free like most italian restaurants. We were asked if we wanted more so we said sure thinking it was of no additional charge. To our surprise it was on the bill for an additional $ 6. After bringing this to their attention that we did not feel that we should be billed for it, they took it off. Overall though, it was a very nice dining experience with a small, enjoyable, seclusive environment. I would recommend trying this place, just refuse the garlic bread when asked. lol

Do not go to this place if you can help it. I have never had a terrible dining experience in 24 years before I walked into Casa Sorrento. I was actually mortified the entire time and I am neither squeamish nor a picky eater! I bought two Groupons for this place and am still trying to get rid of the second one because I will not be using it! First of all, I went in around 6:30 — 7:00 pm on a Friday night– prime dining time right? The place was EMPTY, and not in a romantic, out of the beaten path way. In a deadly silent, if I say anything too loud the entire staff will hear me kind of way. As we were seated we noticed that everything was very dusty and old looking, and there was actually dust on our plates so we asked to be moved to a different table. This table was by the window and there were dead bugs EVERYWHERE. All over the window sill, table, and sure enough, our plates. There was even one crawling across the table… they looked like giant ants with wings. Also, every plate but one that we used had some kind of dust, dirt, or food on it. I won’t say that this place is unsanitary, but it certainly needs a really deep cleaning and better décor… everything is so old and worn! We both got sodas, a coke and a sprite, and they both had a very weird taste. I don’t know if the soda was old or gone bad(can soda go bad?) but it was very distinct and gross. So on to the menu… I am Italian so I definitely respect a place trying to keep it simple and authentic but this menu was extremely basic and the prices were OUTRAGEOUS for what they were serving. For starters we ordered the caprese salad and it was literally a slice of cheap store bought mozzerella(we found a piece of plastic from the wrapper underneath a tomato) between two giant unripe tomato slices with a bit of balsamic and olive oil and the entire thing sprinkled with dried parsley; a very amateur move! The fresh basil underneath the tomatoes was great, but overall the entire thing was flavorless and extremely rough looking and a whopping $ 10! Next, we had the ravioli in pink sauce and chicken parmesan. There was literally nothing special about either of these dishes but neither was cheap. I was not able to tell much as far as what was fresh and what was not, but overall both were fine– nothing special at all and certainly not when you’re wondering if you’ll find dead bugs under your food. The chicken was slightly burned and too soggy and came with only a small side of pasta which we found weird. The best thing we ate all night was the bread that was brought to us before our appetizer– it was good quality bread and very garlicky– we even ordered a second basket. So imagine our surprise when we realized that it cost about $ 4 for each basket! The waiter did not even ask if we wanted the first one, he just brought it to us– definitely not a situation where it is okay to charge someone. The last things that annoyed me were that the staff went out to smoke cigarettes quite often and brought the smell of smoke in with them when they opened the door, and also the bathrooms were in desperate need of a good cleaning. Maybe one of a couple of these things would have passed with me because I am by no means nitpicky, but all combined made it a terrible place to eat. Any place where I have a simple dinner and get a $ 60 bill better be a damn good restaurant– and this was hands down one of the worst!

We purchased a groupon for here. This was a first for both of us & we loved it. Being greek & italian I rarely eat Italian food out but was pleasantly surprised here. The calamari was tender & they sauted it insread of deep frying it giving it a nice little twist. I had chicken marsala & it was amazing. He had the chicken parm which was good too only the cheese was over cooked. Overall it was very good & I plan to go back again.

Previously known as Wilfredos Italian Restaurant, this is now Casa Sorrento. This was actually a date and I have to say, such a cute little place for a romantic setting. The location is very small and cozy. It is a little offsetting when you first walk in as it is quite quiet, however, we were seated on the other side of the wall from the other 2 couples dining so it was pretty private and intimate. The service was somewhat slow but extremely on par. I assume it was slow because everything was made extremely fresh which is refreshing. Even though it was a bit slower, they were very attentive and kind. We ordered the calamari to start but before that even arrived we receive homemade garlic break(garlic like whoa) and 2 pieces of bruschetta on the house. That was very nice of them. The bruchetta was a little too balsamic drenched for me so one piece was perfect. I have to admit, not a huge fan of calamari, I mean I eat it when others order it and it’s ok but it’s not something I order or crave, but this was hands down the best calamari I have ever had. It was sautéed with some kind of breading and tons of flavor! yum. We also received a salad with our entrée and it was so, so. Too much balsamic again. I had the lasagna and it was very good. It was full of meat, cheese and mushrooms. The mushrooms could have been done a little bit more but overall it was a tasty dish. We also received a canoli on the house and it was ok. I am not a canoli fan(i know hard to believe there is a dessert I am not a fan of) but it was pretty good. Overall, very intimate, homely restaurant with delicious Italian food. Check it out!
