Great place and customer service was great too. The outside looked a little rough but inside was great as was the price.

Wow, we were traveling from LA to Kansas, caught heavy fog so searched for a last minute place to stay & nearly couldn’t have been happier. Clean, nice amenities, very low rate, incredibly generous, thoughtful staff that even offered a military discount. One minor issue was the comforter looked to have some kind of unattractive color to it. Not quite sure. We would definitely go back if we’re that way again.

Sleeping in your car/a wet tent gets real old real fast. My boyfriend and I were exhausted, tired of forking out $ 30+ for camping and in insanely desperate need of a shower(admittedly, we stank). We had planned to stay with a friend the next day, but didn’t have the energy to make the drive that night(nor the audacity to show up smelling like we did). Trusty Unilocal!to the rescue! After hiking out to Rifle Falls, we headed back to Parachute(on our way to Ridgway) where we spotted this hotel. I looked it up on Unilocal and was amazed to find such great reviews, as the outside of it is definitely nothing to write home about. It backs up to what looks like it could be a sketchy area of housing(though all those I saw were very polite and said Good morning the next day). The price was GREAT and so we went for it. Not even knowing that they had a) free in-room WiFi(unheard of in some hotels… including the W. You know, the overpriced luxury chain); b) free DELICIOUSWAFFLES, coffee and breakfast; c) free parking; d) Soup at practically any hour of the day we wanted(also free, also delicious). Definitely do not judge the Parachute Inn by its cover. The room itself was clean, comfortable. Hot water in the shower(that didn’t look like something out of a crack house or Psycho), mini fridge, microwave, cable on a flat screen TV, REALLY comfortable bed(again, I’ve had far worse at far more expensive hotels). I almost didn’t want to leave. Walking distance to a gas station(and a liquor store). Staff was fantastic and courteous. I wish all the hotels we stayed at had been like this one. For the price, you could not do better in the state(I know, I’ve checked). Very easy to find and easy access to the freeway. Would stay here again and again… Hey other budget hotels, take a lesson from the Parachute Inn! They’re doin’ it right!

The place looks kind of run down from the outside, but I wound up staying there due to a road closure, and the staff was very accommodating and helpful, and went out of their way to make us happy. I was unexpectedly pleased. My daughter and I stayed in one of their newly renovated suites. I would give it 5 stars if it weren’t for the run-down exterior.

The nicest staff I have ever met at a hotel. Inexpensive, clean, and the rooms are huge! We came in at midnight and the man who checked us in was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. We even got a midnight meal of soup and crackers for free. The room itself was great. Highly highly recommended! My boyfriend even said that this was the best hotel he’s ever stayed at for such a low price and this was his third time across the country(from NY to CA). I’ve been spoiled by this place and probably won’t find another like it anywhere!

For what it is — a clean, cheap stay — this place is OVERTHETOP! Super Friendly Staff!!! Free breakfast, including sausage sandwiches, waffles, oatmeal etc Free dinner24 hour/day, so nice to come in off the road and have some warm soup and some brownies(store bought, sure, and still nice). See pics for more info. Add a pet to your stay for $ 15 non-refundable. Not fancy, and feels good. A good place if you just want to crash. Free in-room wi-fi. Room was under $ 50.

Not bad if you just want an inexpensive place to sleep and move on early as we did. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast area is tiny but well stocked and ok to grab something and get on the road.

After checking out, I felt a little guilty about judging this place by the outside, and vowed I would write a review about our positive experience at the Parachute Inn(I will try not to judge a book by it’s cover again.) My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay on our trip from Denver to Telluride, since we got a late start. We wanted to save money, and since we would be arriving late and leaving early, we pretty much just needed a bed to crash on. I have to admit, when we arrived in the evening, the place looked a little creepy. We figured that getting murdered the first night of our trip would be kind of a shame, and contemplated not staying here. We drove around the place several times, not able to commit to booking a room. It’s kind of dark/dimly lit, and it looks like something you might see in a horror movie… BUT don’t let that persuade you to stay elsewhere. The inside was clean, bed was comfy, and it had a big flat screen TV, which I was surprised by. AND our room was $ 45! You really can’t beat that. If you’re looking for a CHEAP place to stay(the motel chains around the area were double the price) — stay here. There is nothing fancy about the Inn, but we got a great night’s rest in a clean room, and checked out in the morning… alive.
