The person on the phone and at check-in was lovely; the motel, not so much. Not new or in good shape, not clean, not comfortable; and I didn’t feel safe and couldn’t sleep because of the noise of the other guests outside(many of whom gathered for much of the night in the parking lot), the people in adjoining rooms, and especially the heater, which cycled on and off and sounded like a train going through every time. There were a lot of amenities in the room(fridge, microwave, coffee maker, internet, big TV), but really, this is more like shelter for(temporarily?) homeless people, than a comfortable traveler’s motel.

NOWCALLEDTHEPARACHUTEINN: same #. For what it is — a clean, cheap stay — this place is OVERTHETOP! Super Friendly Staff!!! Free breakfast, including sausage sandwiches, waffles, oatmeal etc Free dinner24 hour/day, so nice to come in off the road and have some warm soup and some brownies(store bought, sure, and still nice). See pics for more info. Add a pet to your stay for $ 15 non-refundable. Not fancy, and feels good. A good place if you just want to crash. Free in-room wi-fi

This hotel has changed ownership and changed its name to the Parachute Inn. Based on the previous review, that’s not all that changed. I was very happy with this hotel. The room was cheaper than the Motel 6, was very large inside, clean, had a comfortable bed, and the location is great. Just a short drive away from Vail. The free breakfast is normally from 6−10am. However, when we checked in we told the clerk we would be leaving around 5am. She assured me someone would be at the desk by 4:30am so we could have breakfast. In the morning we went to the office and the man behind the counter was extremely cheery and made us hot waffles! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would absolutely recommend it to others!

Be aware, This Motel *8 was by & far the worst. The rooms had trash under the bed to include uneaten food which smelled bad enough to cause my dog & myself to look for and find it. There is a sign outside that says that pets are not allowed on the lawns. I took that to mean that animals are allowed like at «Motel 6’s», just not on the grass. I saw no other sign indicating otherwise. The next day I was informed rudely that pets were not allowed and that there was a sign saying so. I was charged against my credit card $ 100.00. The sign was not permanently affixed like the«No Pets on Lawn» sign or the«pets allowed» sign which I’d seen at every«Motel 6». It was in fact a printed piece of paper taped to the window, partially blocked by an artificial plant, which I suspect was placed there after the fact to further their ability to «con» guests into paying this ridicules fee. The tape holding the sign looked fresh with no sun or air aging effect. I believe this was a con — game they practice regularly for added income. The night I checked in the clerk & I had a 25 minute discussion about my job teaching animal education & that my dog & I were driving around the country for this very reason. I’d described a few of our adventures as well. She’d asked me many animal questions concerning the laws regarding the fact that her dog had bitten a child and she was being sued. The police there were very sympathetic but there was nothing they could do. They did thank me for telling them. Motel 6’s charge $ 35 — $ 40 per night and the rooms are superior to this Motel 8. This Motel 8 charged $ 90.00 a night which was not posted as well. You only are informed of the room price after you check in unless you ask. Other guests checking also commented about the unusually high fee. When you are tired and have already gone through the complicated check in process you are hesitant to want to leave & find another room down the road. «They know this.» This was a country hustle and I’d strongly advise any traveler to be wary of this place and drive just a few more miles for decent /honest accommodations.
