Beckham Grill. This place is quite special for me because it was my first taste and experience of I guess what you would call«fine» dining when I was just in high school. Eating prime rib was considered a very luxurious meal for us kids and we were all excited to try it. I still remember that we all dressed up in our best formal attire for the meal. Now, we are all grown up and we wanted to relive our childhood memories by going back to the restaurant that started it all. Unfortunately, my friends and I came up with this brilliant idea too late because the place is now closing down due to construction in the area. Luckily we were able to get one last meal in and it happened to be the last day it was open! Beckham Grill is a restaurant that offers a very traditional classy atmosphere. You will find the restaurant very dimly lit and decorated with multiple antiques and artwork. In addition you may noticed a lot of older generation love to eat here. My friends and I are only in our 20’s so we did feel a bit out of place. None the less, we didn’t care too much about that. We came for one thing and that was to eat good food! We had a reservation at 7:30 p.m. but arrived at the restaurant at 8:00 p.m. and they were still able to seat our party. Our server was very nice and attentive. We received are drinks fairly quickly after seating and during the course of our meal she kept checking on us. On to the food. The food here is awesome and the price is very reasonable. After a below average experience at Lawry’s prime rib, I needed to find a place to get my prime rib fix. The meal started with some garlic bread. The bread for me was a bit too oily but… it was kicking with some awesome garlic flavor. For starters, my friends got the french onion soup and the soup of the day which was crab bisque. Out of the two, the crab bisque was much better. But over all both soups were very tasty. I got the Beckham’s cut and it was huge! I don’t even want to know what is the crowns cut. The prime rib was sooo tender and flavorful. One thing I noticed was the prime rib didn’t have au jus and it was still very moist and juicy. That’s how you know the prime rib is good. I ate mine with the provided horse radish sauce and it gave it a nice spicy kick. I also got to try the end cut from my friends plate and it was very good as well as it had a nice seasoned crust on the outside. If you want a steak/prime rib type of meal, get the end cut. The sides were also very good. With the prime rib you get creamed spinach, cream corn, and Yorkshire pudding. Out of the three, my favorite was the cream spinach; it was very tasty. The Yorkshire pudding. was just weird and didn’t feel like it went well with the meal at all. It tasted and looked like a soggy cream puff. Overall. the meal was awesome and it was leagues above my meal at Lawry’s. This place brought back so many memories from my high school days. I can’t believe this place is closing down because I would love to introduce more people to it. I really hope they plan on opening up another restaurant at another location! None the less, thank you for the awesome meal and memories Beckham Grill!

A little bummed that my first time at Beckham Grill will also be my last. I was fortunate enough to be able to dine in on their last day of operation. A few weeks ago we had a meal at Lawry’s and were fairly disappointed. My friends had remembered Beckham Grill in high school and enjoying it. After going through some reviews and their website we had discovered that they would be closing their doors for good so we quickly made reservations for their last day. I started out with the soup of the day which was the crab bisque. It was pretty good and had real chunks of crab meat. For my entrée I had the medium rare Beckham Cut prime rib. The sides that came with it were nothing special, but the prime rib itself was melt-in-your-mouth good. Both food and service was excellent. I wish I could be saying that I would be coming back, however I can’t :(

They’re closing tonight for good. The prime rib was delicious as was the Yorkshire pudding and a phenomenal Vanilla Crème Brulee. Just wish I could get an after-dinner drink without losing my precious table in the corner with the unicorn.

Nice place locally for prime rib lovers. Very saddened that Beckham’s Grill is going the same way as its sister restaurant in the Marina, Gulliver’s. Beckham’s will be missed.

Old school restaurant open since 1978. I love the décor inside this restaurant it definitely brings back memories of Europe. The food was very good but so sad to see it close on its final day 08AUG15.

Sad to see them go. Will visit this week with friends. I especially like the traditional prime rib end-cut. They call it Robert Browning. it comes with yorkshire lo udding, sweet corn crème, and creamed spinach. My friends are going to miss the triffle, too!

Served by the greatest Ryan McNeely at the great Beckham. The service was superb and the French Onion Soup is the best in LA! Ask for Ryan and you are sure to be happy with the service!

English pub style restaurant that compares to Tam O’Shanter in Los Feliz and closely resembles that of Smokehouse Restaurant in Burbank. This dimly lit restaurant serving notable dishes like Beef Prime Rib, New York Steak, Chopped Salad and Fish & Chips. Décor is era appropriate with dark wooden tables in red leather accents. Great ambience and old world charm makes this place particularly attractive to seniors who mishmash with millennial folks and location is ideally situated just off Colorado Blvd away from the vibrant crowds of Old Town Pasadena. Staff is attentive and prices are moderate matching the quality of the dishes. Big fan.

Sad to see this place go. Not too many big old dark restaurants where you can hide in a booth and get lost in your prime rib. Only bummer is the valet parking, but I guess it added to its charm. You will be missed and should not be replaced with the ubiquitous mixed use condo/retail that is sure to follow.

I’m going to keep this simple. 1. Order the Beef Prime Rib. 2. Maker’s Mark on the rocks. 3. You’re welcome.

Cool ass décor and sweet theme for a restaurant. The bar area and dining area are classic. Initially came a couple years ago for the prime rib during some sort of occasion but it was slammed with people so we didn’t get to enjoy it much. Came back last week for dinner and was super glad we did. happy hour well drinks $ 5 and mixed drinks including old fashions and Moscow mules $ 6. They’re stiff as #eggplantthursdays and so tasty I got wasted before dinner. Plus they have chips and salsa and these little sandwich things to snack on next to the dart board. Right when I thought it couldn’t get better we headed to the sick dining area for dinner. Our server was amazing and very accommodating /super nice. We got a cool little booth and our cab we brought was served. How the Fuck can you beat a $ 3 corkage fee?! Oh! I know… discount all the dishes including all the PRIMERIBONMONDAY/TURSDAY. The garlic bread = amazing. So much so we got an order to go like true Asian cheap ass couples. To sweeten the already diabetic deal, they give you one free starter soup or salad. We opted for their famous French onion soup and the curry salad. Both were perfect. Wifey got the end cut I went with the English cut. Both medium rare. Both perfectly seasoned. They hooked it up with free rum cake in which I ate all of because fat and wasted. Spent $ 60 for all that. Idk how much better it can get. I’ll try in 2 days and edit this hahaba Enough talk. Look pictures. Go. Be gluttonous.

I cannot even count the number of times that we have eaten at this fabulous restaurant. We had our first date here, our wedding reception here and we bring our special friends and family whenever we can. It’s our favorite date night place. The ambiance is that of an old school restaurant, the menu is very trendy California food with a mixture of awesome British here & there and the bar is run by Jose — a stellar mixologist! John usually goes for the fresh wild caught seafood they offer if he is not having their top notch steak or prime rib that night. its hard for me to decide between a dinner of appetizers and salad or a full dinner entrée. Oh, and we have our annual office Christmas party here every year. One year we came with most of our family and brought our 3 year old granddaughter who enjoyed it greatly. Head. On. Over.

place is decent. prices are amazing for the amount of food you get but i don’t know if the amount of food you get is even necessary. i tried the onion rings. they use the batter they use on the fish & chips. they’re good. highlight is the ranch sauce. the garlic toast they give you for free is good. i had the plain cheeseburger which was good. comes with fries & cole slaw or brussel sprouts. i opted for cole slaw. didn’t touch it because by the time i had the burger i was tapped out. service is pretty attentive except it does take you a while to get your orders in and your check but whatever. whoever it was that was refilling our drinks refilled my drink every time it was like ¼ down. so bless you even though my bladder right now doesn’t agree. valet parking only here in the lot. there’s parking on the street but valet is only $ 2.50

Old Fart Pasadena restaurant! But before you enter, you got to pay the entrance fee: valet $ 6($ 4.5+tip), which I don’t think make any sense in Pasadena especially they got a huge lot, this is the secondary income for the restaurant which should be Free in the beginning! Besides this, the prime ribs here are great, this is the same kind of old Scottish prime ribs restaurant like lawry’s and tam oshanter, except the price is a little lower. Prime ribs dinner comes with sweet corns and creamed spinach for free, english cut is the best! Every Monday and Tuesday they knock off $ 5 for every entrée and includes a free salad which normally cost around $ 7.5. So you know when to come! Get rid of the entrance fee, I will give this joint 5 star!

I usually come here with my grandma for a holiday lunch/early dinner. My most recent visit was this Thanksgiving. When you go in it is styled like an English pub and the bathrooms say«loo» on it haha. The majority of the people here are senior citizens out for a good ol’ fashioned meal. This is why I am always here with my grandma. Whenever I come for Thanksgiving I am always tempted to get turkey and then slap myself and go with the prime rib instead: D Full on carnivore here. Prime rib is good but not the best. Lawry’s is still my number one for prime rib. I like that they have some options for the appetizer. I usually get the Crown salad with the beets and balsamic vinaigrette. They serve both creamed corn and spinach, great for the indecisive. Desserts were underwhelming. My pumpkin pie was bleh and I would recommend the ice cream or raspberry sorbet. You can get half/half of the two in one bowl. Valet parking is a must. My other relatives parked a few blocks away to avoid the valet and their car got broken in to. Not worth the risk after hearing that story.

My GF and I have a standing Monday night date at Beckham. Call us old school, but we really dig the dark clubby atmosphere of this place, quiet and relaxing, and the servers are always polished and professional. The consistency of the high food quality and good service keeps us coming back week after week… oh, and did I mention the $ 3.00 corkage? Overall, a killer value. Can’t speak for the prime rib of beef as we are not into it. We usually go for the fresh trout, if offered as a special. It really is amazing. Also fantastic is their prime rib of pork… lean with a great rosemary sauce, a great dish rarely offered elsewhere. Reminds me of the dinner houses my parents used to love. Highly recommended!

The schtick here at Beckham Grill is an attempted 19th-Century-London-townhouse ambiance aiming for a refined yet casual atmosphere, but at times it seems they’re just pulling off more of a stodgy, pretentious vibe. While the décor is tea-table cozy and the staff are professional, I can’t say the food is anything other than standard fare. While some cuts of meat have been fine, a $ 32 ribeye came out looking and tasting like a slab of chuck. For someone who consistently orders ribeye due to it being their favorite cut of beef, it becomes pretty obvious right away if they’ve been served something else. Now, I am against patrons who intentionally create drama or shill for $$ off the bill, and in fact, these are the very things which cause me stress and discomfort. My Catholic guilt works on a daily basis commanding me to eat everything on my plate out of politeness, don’t say anything if you can’t say something nice, etc. etc… So in a situation where I feel I’ve been screwed out of an expensive cut of meat, my anger at being pegged a patsy is doing internal battle with my Catholic guilt conscience. Like any good Irishman, I will rage quietly inside while pronouncing everything to be «fine» to my family and friends. Fortunately, my husband has no such mental detriments and directly pointed the mistake out to our server. She flatly denied that it wasn’t a ribeye, and we silently nodded in defeat as she briskly walked away. The gauntlet had been thrown. I was to eat my grilled slab of chuck in quiet resentment. Despite these cautionary foibles, I do enjoy the bar, which is all fireplace cozy like an old English library with a classy mahogany bar. I’m sure there’s a right good 60⁄40 scene there, for all those interested. I also must say I enjoy the Yorkshire pudding and my drinks have always been strong.

Awful guiness which is why only 3 stars Good onion rings and onion soup Fabulous fire place if you can somehow score the table in front of it. Not to many fireplaces in Pasadena in bars/restaurants. Next time I’ll try the Black and Tan

I had almost forgotten about Beckham Grill until we had our team holiday party here. It is slightly off the beaten path of Old Town, and that’s partialy the charm of this place. Our group got a private room that was very bright & our server did a great job of taking care of us. The bread is awesome — not a boring loaf of cold white bread. This bread is buttered, toasted & served to you warm! My entrée was the grilled chicken with a lemon sauce & it was pretty good. I also liked how my side veggies were not the industrial frozen peas and carrot squares. They were carrots in a light ginger glaze. It’s good to reminded of places like Beckhams, and since they are known for prime rib I’ll have to come back & give it a try.

Old English style prime rib dinner in a rustic setting. Best nights to come are Mondays and Tuesdays. Their prime rib dinner are about $ 5 off AND includes a soup or salad(which they normally don’t include). I highly recommend BECKHAM’S CUT or ENDCUT prime rib. It’s a hearty piece of prime rib. I ordered medium rare, but it came out closer to medium( ). It comes with a side of cream spinach, cream corn(my fave), and English pudding. The End Cut is flavorful but it can get too salty. To remedy that, my bf and I usually share one of each… perfect balance! AND, the best part of the Monday/Tuesday deal is the free soup. The TRADITIONALONIONSOUP( ) is amazing and the best I’ve had! At one point I wondered why it wasn’t called«French Onion Soup», but then I realized I was in an English restaurant…(duh, don’t mess with the Brits). If you are a cheese lover, this is heaven! The soup is covered with a thick crusty layer of cheese. Once you dig pass that, you reach a hearty soup with translucent onions that are so soft and flavorful it melts in your mouth! Both the Beckham’s and end cut were $ 22 each, not bad with the amazing traditional onion soup! Another plus: corkage fee is only $ 5! Wine, onion soup, and prime rib. Yes, yes, yes!
