Not bad for a small town. The building is out of date but gets the job done. Smaller venue so you get a great seat no matter where you sit. Definitely gets the job done and the announcer is GREAT! Went for an Ice Flyers game and had some fun. Not many options for wine unless you go to the bar inside the rink(not concessions on the outside) but the concessions on the outside have great fries! Not walkable to bars, but is walkable to free parking(not in the lot)

Functional arena. Good seating. Depending on the event, there could be more parking. PensaCon, Pensacola’s glorious attempt at Comic-Con is held here, which is awesome. The local ice hockey team plays here(yes there is ice hockey in Florida). My only gripe is that Pensacola never seems to book decent shows or events. The continuously booked Monster Truck shows or the 8000th show of Disney on Ice is not high on my list of things I want to see. That’s why this is my first time reviewing this place after 5 years on Unilocal. They finally had an event I wanted to see. ooh let me rephrase that, they finally had a event I was willing to pay to see. The Comedy Get Down tour was hilarious. Hopefully this place will attract more headlining artists.

I managed to get thrown out of this place by one of the Center’s crack morbidly obese security fellows. In the course of working the event we were there for, I had to leave the arena via the lower-level exits several times and return. The rent-a-guard informed me quite clearly that I could not do so; I informed him quite clearly that I needed to as part of my job. But you can’t argue with a moron who is excited about the sense of power he gets from a uniform, so I figured I’d find an alternative for the rest of the evening and stayed away from that area. Then a friend of mine blew her knee out in a freak injury. I coordinated with the local hospital, handled her transport, and went outside to flag down the ambulance. I ignored the guard blustering about how he already told me I couldn’t leave again and reenter, got my friend into the ambulance, briefed the EMTs, and went back inside. The guard confronted me and told me that since I wouldn’t listen to him, he was trespassing me from the building and I needed to leave immediately or he’d call the police. I told him I wouldn’t leave without at least having the opportunity to collect my things, and I needed to speak to the president of the company that rented the Center so that he’d understand why one of his senior subordinates was getting kicked out at a critical time. He agreed(I guess he thought I was bluffing?), and we headed up to get my stuff and talk to my boss. As soon as my boss started questioning the guard on why he thought I should be trespassed since I was working this event, etc., the guard immediately backed down and said everything was fine, and it was just a misunderstanding. Once we were out of earshot, he then chewed me out again. I ignored him and went on about my business. You know how they say that sometimes a single bad employee can overshadow all the other things a venue is doing right? Yeah.

Well it is fairly small conventions center. Not very modern. Alittle run down. But not it not bad for Pensacola. Parking was slim so if your not there early you have to park across the street and they charge $ 5 parking for a uncontroled /public parking area. All in all it was an ok experience.
