My son has been taking classes at the Philly Art Center since he was 4 months. He started with the music class and then to the«mommy and me» art class. It was natural for me to take the next step and sign him up for the drop off class. Unfortunately, my son didn’t think it was«natural» at all and hysterically cried his eyes out. The teachers and staff have been amazing to help him through this new transition. Today was only his second class and he stayed the whole time! The staff never once seemed annoyed and have been reassuring and encouraging that we’ll get him through this. The director also took the time to talk with me and calm my fears and stop my tears. :) Love this place!

Recently took an adult class with Kathleen. She was incredible! She adapted to everyone’s learning style and worked with the way that best suited each student individually. I highly recommend taking a class with her — she’s one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. I added the final painting project I created because I’m obsessed and so proud of it.

Fabulous programs for children! Our older daughter attended camp(in Fairmount) and it was amazing! The theme was«street» art, and I was wishing I could attend! They took trips throughout the city, they learned, they did lotsa art, and the had so much fun! We also took our 18 month old daughter to a class in Queen Village and — wow! It was done very well and was enjoyable for her and for us! This is a great place!

This is another super cool spot to take your kids for different enrichment activities, or if you just want to brush up on your painting, sculpting, or crafting. The teachers are all super nice and very helpful. The center is… well as you would expect an art center to be… messy neat is what I like to call it. But my kiddo loves it here and I do too. I hope you will as well. PROS– — knowledgable and compassionate teachers — great classes for children as young as 2 all the way up to adult classes — play groups for infants and toddlers — not just art, but also different language classes and music classes — classes are reasonably priced — they have their own art supplies for sale CONS– — not too much available parking TIPS– — there are great art programs here for the kids, especially their summer camps

Great art studio! Well run and good online presence for registration. The owner and teachers are extremely cheerful and welcoming to the children. Both my kids went there for a vacation camp and had a great time. Highly recommend.

I took one painting class at QV art center and am taking another one next month, so that’s one vote of confidence. For adult education, it’s a very practical sort of class — don’t expect very detailed instruction, it’ll be mostly«okay, do this» rather than any theory(I’m more of a theory person myself). Combine that with the fact that the majority of the students in my intro(INTRO, PEOPLE) to painting class were either repeat students or longtime hobbyists. and you have an environment that’s hard for beginners. I got over it with a healthy nihilist attitude(aka«screw it, it’s just painting; I don’t have to win») and also that once we went from drawing to painting, I just fell in love with the medium, even though I took the class more so for the drawing(ah, life). I think I would’ve like the class more had I taken it with a friend, and if I had a #$(* clue about painting beforehand. Can I get a remedial remedial class? Excited to go back, and the prices are very reasonable considering that all the materials are generally provided.
