I wish I could give this place more love. The location is great, and it’s seemingly a nice neighborhood spot. Sadly, I was let down in almost every aspect. The ambiance was marginal. Décor was average and some tables seemed like they belonged in the trash(bar area). We ordered the cheese plate which was a complete joke. Our main course consisted of an ahi tuna stack and fish and chips. Both were just awful. Fish was definitely straight out of a freezer pack and the tuna had a color hue to it that just screamed old or packaged. Definitely not fresh. I mean, come on. We’re in San Diego for god sake. Fresh fish is pretty standard. Wait staff was fair, nothing special. Dinnerware was also dirty and needed to be cleaned again. And to top it all off, they are literally stealing when it comes to the prices. 8 dollars for a sculpin. No one charges that much. I went with high hopes, and completely deflated and wanting my money back. I would not go.

I had the ½ order fish & chips and they were better than the fish & chips I was eating in London 3 weeks ago! The only issue I have with The Company, we are always cold inside the restaurant. We have eaten here about 5 times & the food is always good.

Discovered this little gem on the way home from a hike up Iron Mountain. The service is very friendly and they have a wide variety of menu items from which to choose. We started with ceviche, which was very fresh. The Shepherds Pie and Ahi Ciabatta sandwich were well prepared.

Stopped in after hiking Mt. Woodson(aka Potato Chip Rock). Dining room was crowded and while the patio looked inviting, I was a little too damp from the hike to be comfortable on such and over cast day(I did notice they had heat lamps though!). We ponied up to bar to enjoy a couple of refreshing draft Strongbow ciders. The ceviche app was refreshing and the grilled shrimp garnish perfectly charred yet not over cooked. Loved the tomato bisque which tasted like roasted tomatoes and basil. It was thick and hearty with barely any cream added. Prosciutto flatbread and ahi tuna sandwich were also good choices. Good food, friendly service and fun atmosphere = I’ll be back for more.

Very pleased with the service, food, and ambiance. Server Laura was great! Stand outs were the mussels appetizer and fish and chips. Paired great with their selection of local beer. We will be back!

Things I liked: English Snakebite is a wonderful concoction, the décor was good, the staff was nice/helpful, the pork nachos were amazing and the menu is a nice variety. Things I did not like: I was served a small rack of ribs that was so overdone that, I kid you not, I couldn’t even slice through with a steak knife… There is really no excuse for something like that making it out of the kitchen. I was brought out a new plate which was cooked much better so the kitchen team did correct their mistake. However, the ribs being edible didn’t make up for their lack of flavor… Not the kitchen’s fault just whoever created the recipe. The side slaw was not appetizing either. The shades for the outdoor patio were also pretty ragged… I wanted to ask someone to lower them in my area but upon further inspection realized one was not installed where I was sitting(??). I’m not the type to demand compensation for a mistake. I do expect staff to be proactive and take the initiative to ensure that customers don’t leave feeling ignored. Even a small gesture goes a long way.

What a horrible waste of money! I’m saw that this place had 4 stars and the food pics looks pretty good! We checked in and got a free app so we chose the pork nachos since the table next to us recommended it. They were probably the best thing we ate. For dinner I ordered the farmers pie. The menu said«try it» so I did… big mistake! After pulling the inch thick layer of cheese off the top I found a good 2 inches of mashed potatoes and a thin layer of over cooked veggies, two to my shreds of pulled pork and a gravy so overpowered with rosemary! I took just a few bites and had decided that was enough! My girlfriend ordered the ¼ rack of ribs with pub chips. She tried several times to cut through them or even bite into them. Unfortunately it appeared as though someone forgot them in the microwave when reheating either last weeks ribs or frozen store bought ribs. So she told the server who took away the entire plate. Then she had to sit and watch us pick at our food for a while. The next one she brought out was at least edible, still not great but it was good. The bill came… $ 105 for 3 people, 2 drinks each, horrible food! I noticed that the appetizer was still on the check so we had to wait for the server. She said she’d correct and when she brought it back sh had only taken off $.10! At that point we had had enough! My friend encouraged me to speak to the manager which I hate to do but I knew it was time. I got up and walked in the front door. I asked a different server if I could speak to a manager and it was almost like I said«hello, I’m here to rob the place» everyone at the bar turned and looked at me, all the servers stopped and stood in front of me and someone yelled for the manager to come over. Please keep in mind that I said this very quietly and more than polite! It was then that I realized I was in a regulars type of place! New people not very welcome and complaints not acceptable! So I quietly explained to the manager what happened and and how the food was terrible and he gave me free appetizer cards and took off this appetizer. I asked for something to be done about the ribs and he said he couldn’t do anything. So I gave the cards to the next table and we left never to return again!!!

We checked out this place and had high hopes. It has pretty good reviews and even more important… they’re dog friendly! So we dropped by and had a seat on the patio. First off, the service there was awesome! All the staff we met were super friendly and very helpful. They were also dog lovers and took time to stop and say hi to our dogs which was very cool. We sat on the patio so we didn’t get to see the inside, but we liked the feel of the décor outside. The all wood tables & chairs, the planters with vines climbing up the pallets all provided a rustic charm that was very cozy. They also had a pretty decent beer and wine selection. Unfortunately, where they lose stars is the food. And really, that’s the most important part. We got the Quack Mac n Cheese, the Black and Blue Burger, and the Shepherds Pie. For the Quack Mac n Cheese they had run out of duck sausage so we opted for chorizo instead. It wasn’t bad. I mean… flavor was ok, but it wasn’t mac n cheese as I normally think of it. It was more like macaroni noodles with melted cheese and crumbled sausage on top. When we got past the top layer of cheese it was just plain macaroni underneath. The Shepherds Pie and Black and Blue Burger were more of the same. Just ok/mediocre food. My wife said the Shepherds Pie was bland. And I found the Black and Blue to be pretty unspectacular as well. Another thing that struck us was the size of the portions. The mac n cheese was $ 10 and was a pretty small portion. If it was bursting with flavor I would probably overlook the portion size. Same could be said for the Shepherds Pie. I have been to other restaurants where $ 14 gets you a huge plate of something. Not so much here. Again, if the flavor was off the hook, then price wouldn’t be so much of an issue. The burger and fries were fine in this regard, though. We may come back again to have a few drinks on the patio with the dogs. But unfortunately, it won’t be at the top of the list.

My friends and I came in at around 7:00 on a Friday night. Yes, the place was busy. The bar side was loud and super crowded but the restaurant side was just more than half full. They didn’t really have a waiting list. Just a couple(maybe the managers or owners?) asking where we wanted to sit. The man offered us a table in the bar but we chose to wait for the restaurant. A few minutes later, the lady asked us if we wanted to sit outside. Not sure why outside, because there were tables inside. Anyways, we asked if they had heaters and were told they had one, So, we went outside and that is where the fun began. First of all, the patio is pet friendly and there were a couple of dogs in that patio. I like dogs but what ever happened to the days where a dog could stay home alone? Pretty sure CPS won’t be called if you leave a dog home alone while you go eat dinner. So, if you’re not a fan of eating with dogs around eat inside if they’ll let you. Let me get back to why we came here. To eat and have a drink. The drink order came out fairly fast but then it was all over. Our waitress did not come back to take our order for about 12 – 15 minutes. 2 out of 3 of us ordered Fish and Chips. Our waitress said we had a choice between steak fries and beer battered fries. We both chose steak fries. After about 40 – 45 minutes, a manager/owner? came by to ask if we needed anything. We asked him to check on our food. The food came out right after we asked. The fish and chips were served with the beer battered fries. I told our waitress that we were served the wrong fries and then she said something about overhearing the kitchen say that they were out of the steak fries. She then said, are the beer battered ones ok or should I ask? I said, can you please ask? And then she left. That is when we discovered that our fish and chips were cold. Apparently, they had sat too long. My friend went inside to track down our waitress. She also let the manager know and he acted like it was no big deal. Our waitress came out and said she would have them make a new order… if we wanted. Yes, please. So… Finally we were served hot fish and the beer battered fries. Never found out if they were truly out of the steak/pub fries. We did see the manager peering through the window and door at us a couple of times but never came out to apologize. Guess he doesn’t need our business. The waitress offered us dessert but we just wanted to leave. Needless to say, none of us will be back. Side note… This was probably my 3rd visit here and I’ve ordered the fish and chips before. The quality of the fish wasn’t what I remembered. It was better before. My friend and I order fish and chips everywhere we go and this one wasn’t good cold or hot.

I wish I could leave a better review for this restaurant/pub unfortunately we didn’t have such a good experience. I’m not going to go into much detail besides three items that we had requested on the menu were unavailable which was very disappointing and my coworkers pulled pork was completely dry. When she expressed how she felt about the food the manager tried to justify why it tasted the way it did instead of trying to make the situation better. In my opinion he wasn’t very professional and unfortunately I doubt I would ever go back for the actions of the staff. On the other hand I had Shepard’s pie which was pretty mediocre was very oily but not bad and a chocolate martini that was pretty good. Maybe this place is high rated mainly for drinks food not so great.

Disappointed. This place had ok reviews, and we didn’t want to go far so we tried it. Friday night, with our two kids and our toy poodle. Although the food was good, service was slow. like 15 minutes for our drink alone. The heaters outside were out of propane so we got cold. Everyone was done with dinner and I hadn’t even gotten my food. We wanted a 2nd drink while we waited and it took her 10 mins to bring back the drink menu. No thanks. I asked for the bill, while my kids waited in the car. And I still waited 15 minutes to get my food to go. I guess the place is not good for families on a Friday night!

We ate lunch at CP&K yesterday — Laura was our server and she was *wonderful* — attentive, helpful, and had a great sense of humor — and she was very cool about us using a Passport dining card. While ordering, my husband just happened to mention that we were sharing a sandwich and salad. We were VERY surprised when the salad was brought on two plates, and, a little later, the sandwich was, also. Nice! So, the food — the ABC salad was delicious! I see many other Unilocalers have already described it. The white balsamic vinaigrette was amazing(made in house)… brought our leftover dressing home and have used it twice. Yum! The ahi sandwich was good, but not great. Too much bread for the amount of fixin’s, in our opinion. So we just took off half the bread and it was better! We would ask to have it toasted next time. The sweet potato fries were delish! Nice selection of beers on tap — though a bit pricey — $ 8 for a New English brown ale and $ 7 for a Green Flash Soul Style IPA. Parking is plentiful and the bathrooms are nice and clean. We’ll be back.

Pub with a kitchen. I found the food at Company Pub & Kitchen to be satisfactory for a bar with table service. Keeping in mind that when they bill themselves as a Gastropub there are basics expectations that should be met, especially at this price point. Perhaps they fell short of those expectations, but there were some good aspects too. The kitchen menu consisted of standard fare including burgers, pastas, and with a few traditional pub dishes like fish and chips and Shepherd’s Pie. We took advantage of the Unilocal Check-In deal which turned out to be two delicious fish tacos. The kids seemed pretty happy with their menu options with the Fish and Chips being highlighted as excellent. Plus at $ 7(posted at $ 5 on their website) it had a healthy amount of both fish and battered fries. Notes — The $ 10 free appetizer Unilocal deal. Realistically, there are only three options you can choose from that are priced at $ 10 or under for the deal. The Two Tacos — Old School were pretty solid. Definitely appreciative of this offer as it led it us here in the first place. — There were a few minor service issues that I might expect from a regular pub such as not enough nap-utensils set on our table, some basic menu items were not available on our visit like pasta and Sheppard’s pies and pine-nuts were missing from the salad. Not a big deal I guess. — Patio is dog owned. The Unilocal pictures of dogs at at the table or standing on the table are about right. — It’s a good fit for Poway seeing O’Harley’s left years ago. Look, if you’re coming here at night for adult beverages and entertainment this seems like a fun place. I’m not sure I’d recommend coming here just for a lunch with iced teas.

The bar atmosphere is cool. They have a Beatles Cover Band that played tonight and they were great fun! We ordered Fish and Chips: the fish was slightly burned and tasted like old fish that has been fryer in old oil! Farmers Burger: Meat and toppings were great! Didn’t care for the«cold» Chibata bread The Sliders: Cold buns and the garlic sauce was WAYTOO garlicky. The meat was very tasty but couldn’t eat them all because of the strong garlic taste, even after scraping the sauce off. ABC Salad: this was fantastic! Best thing we ordered Nachos: they were good, more cheese and they would have been PERFECT The biggest disappointment was the service. We kept asking for water and refills and she kept forgetting! I finally had to get up and go to the bar myself! The drinks were great! Not sure I need to ever return.

It appears that there has been a recent change in ownership. Saw some mention of it on Unilocal through more recent reviews and there was also a sign up in the bathroom. I didn’t have the fortune of coming by this place before this change, so it’s based on my recent experience. Seems like the business was under stronger management in the past. Past the smokers with the ashtray situated way too close to the entrance. you’ll enter into the bar area which is the middle of three separate seating areas. From the entrance, the far left(facing into the establishment) is a lounge type area with a stage for musical performances; the center is the bar area; and the far right is the seated restaurant area. The set up is poorly placed since there is no host to greet you at the door. Instead, you sort of stand there until you figure out that you have to hunt down the hostess at the far right side(restaurant side). and even there, it’s unclear for the restaurant who has just entered to be seated and who is just standing there. They do have a pretty nice patio area with a cool waterfall. but you have to enjoy having cigarette smoke blown your direction. After flagging down a couple of disconnected workers, we were led to the far left side(lounge side). There’s different seating areas there. but all bar stool high. Unfortunately, the man who sat us, although nice, failed to recognize that we had a member of our party that’s super pregnant(don’t know how you could miss her belly though). It would seem like common sense not to seat a overly pregnant woman at a high table with high bar stools. but whatevers. we were hungry and willing to just take whatever they gave us in terms of seating. It took another 10 minutes to get a waitress. Although I had major issues with her during the whole night for being so utterly inattentive. I later realized that she’s the one waitress for the whole left side lounge area. I couldn’t determine whether it was the management’s fault for being understaffed… or her individual fault for failure in service. Again, she was nice enough but just fell short of everything you require from your waitress. Throughout the night, we had to flag down other members that seemed to be working there to resolve issues that we encountered because she was not present or attending one of the 8+ tables on that side. It took forever to get our drinks and orders in. Food orders came out about the 30 – 45 minute mark from sitting down. and two of the orders were wrong. one order were missing… and we still didn’t get the beer that we ordered. After flagging down two other people about the incorrect/missing food and beverages, the waitress comes back and decides to inform us that she forgot to mention that the beer we ordered was no longer available. So there goes the beverage of choice; our group didn’t get to enjoy eating together as we should have; and it was just a shit show and a half getting the food coordinated. Even the next table over also complained to us asking if service was slow. The food looked better than it tasted. I opted for the fish and chips. There was a big choice cut of white fish. it was not too bad. but it was not seasoned enough but the tarter sauce(not made in-house) was tasty and necessary to make the dish palatable. The coleslaw was okay but the vinegar dressing was not well balanced and too watery. The«pub fries» were served kind of cold. and not that tasty and kind of on the greasy side. Hubster ordered the Big Freddy since it sounded interesting. Also looked better than it tasted. Buns = two grilled cheese sandwiches with burger fillings in-between. We ordered the burger medium. and the patty came out medium rare. which we didn’t eat once realizing how raw it was(see photo). That’s pretty much ruined the dish for us. The lamb hoggie was nothing special. but palatable. The mac and cheese with sausage. consistent with the other dishes, looked better than it tasted. Completely under seasoned. the mixture was bland. Wasn’t a fan of the sausage but it was ok. The check came out and the bill was incorrect. Had to wait another 10 minutes to find someone to fix the bill since our waitress by this point just decided that she stopped caring about our table. Overall, I’ve definitely had worse. I’d assign 1.5 stars. Although the folks working there are nice, there was little that was noteworthy about our experience. The set up is poor, the food was mediocre at best for what it was, and service completely missed the mark. It is unlikely that I would return or recommend. Probably would be a good place to chill for drinks with friends. but not a great place for dining.

Excellent service by Tracy tonight !! I just wanted to throw that out there ! She exhibited professionalism, attentiveness, fun personality and had great knowledge of the menu. Thanks gal ! Great British American fusion food Location: huge parking lot. It’s right on the corner so you’ll see it. If you see Panda Express as huge as a mansion you are in the right area ! Ambiance: huge !!! There is a dining area with low tables, bar area with high tops and bar and a lounge area which I recommend. Booths, high tops and lows near the stage for live music nights. Yup live music !!! Call to confirm. The feel of he place exhibited an older atmosphere. I liked that it wasn’t super quiet but not super wild and crazy. It would be great for all occasions. Lots of tvs for you sport fanatics! Unilocalers: happy hour from 5−7pm. Because they were discounted, and first time check in Unilocalers receive a free appetizer, they also offered $ 8(price of average app) off bill if we weren’t interested in the appetizer !! Sweet !!! This was a nice gesture. You’ll have to ask if this is possible :) Food: burgers, salads, Mac n cheese, sandwiches, ribs, lamp lollipops, shepherds pie … I got the fish fillet and Mint marinated lamb sandwich. The sandwich came on a fresh soft hoagie cut in two with lamb, garlic aoili, spinach, Roma tomatoes and feta. Overall a 4⁄5. Very tasty and delicious. The lamb was not too gamey which I appreciated. The only thing I would change about it is proportion of meat to bread on one half of the sandwich. Only 1⁄3rd of the sandwich had meat :(. Such a bummer. The beer battered fries were okay. They were plentiful and crispy but reminded me of theme park/fast food fries with an extra flash fry. I look forward to trying their home made thick cut steak fries they call«chips». Fish filet, not eaten by me but by my date for the night was one huge slab ! He liked that it was thinly breaded so lots of meat. The tomato soup sub was really good. Tomato chucks were present and it was perfectly seasoned with a nice cheesy crostini. Overall, great food with a nice ambiance.

Sofie and I came here to beer-up. I wasn’t hungry, but with the Unilocal check-in bonus of a free starter, I managed to eat a couple of pretty nice sliders. They were good, but they could have been kicked up with a little salt & pepper on the meat and a dollop of blue cheese… but they were good. Most of the good beers were bottled but I had a couple draft IPAs which I found quite refreshing… though the shock of so few on tap took a whole beer to heal my wounded sensibilities.(Why come to a bar to drink bottled beer? I do that at home without having to travel more than 25 feet.) This is more of a sports bar — though they have an «outside» area where one can sit in a more reflective and calm place to beer yourself into that sweet spot of being witty and wise.
