This place is a no frills kind of supermarket. Has all your basic foods and a bakery. I have always found good prices here which is why I’ll do most of my shopping in town. Lately their produce is really lacking. Sometimes it’s a hit or miss. One time they were were out of bananas and sometimes they have spoiled fruits out. But the staff are so much nicer here which is another reason why I will always come back.

It’s definitely the«lower end» of the three grocery options, but I actually prefer it, either out of nostalgia or because, possibly, the prices may objectively be slightly lower(well, definitely more so than HT, but maybe not much cheaper than Giant). But what I really want to say about it, is this: Last Christmas, we made a dinner based on recipes from the last meal served on the Titanic. The recipe called for odd things: truffle oil, turnips, swiss chard, a couple of odd meats, and a few other things I’ve never used. I was told that«no way!» Food Lion would have it all. But they did. They actually did.

Average grocery store for this area. Not a great selection on most items, but good enough for a quick weekly shop. Main problem here is the lack of brands. Decent produce selection. Friendly checkers, but few of them. I don’t like the self checkout aisles at any grocery store. The cost of an employee doing it is factored into the cost of the items I’m purchasing. I prefer it to Giant down the street, but I’m still awaiting the opening of Harris Teeter.
