Hi, I ate here a few times when the previous owners were running it and the sandwiches were great. The attention to quality was incredible. So much so that I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great lunch at a reasonable price. I heard the previous owners opened a new restaurant in San Jose. Where is your new place? I’m sure the food is fantastic and I look forward to trying it.

Sonoma Sub Bagels and Donuts is the same as Ed’s Sub Center, but there isn’t any signage for this shop, so you have to look for the address(unless you’ve been to Ed’s in the past, before they apparently changed ownership). I placed my order online by going through the Ed’s Sub Center website, and it was really easy to use since you could select any toppings you wanted(there is a large variety to choose from). I ordered: –Red October Sub(Roast Beef, Pastrami, Cheddar, Jalapenos, Onion, House Special Garlic Sauce, Special Dressing, $ 7.25, ): The Dutch Crunch they used was good, but they were skimpy on the meat. I usually don’t need a lot of meat in my sandwiches, but even I was wondering what happened to the roast beef and pastrami. They also needed to add more sauce to the sandwich, since it was a little dry. The bf enjoyed this sandwich, but I liked the hot link one more. –Hot Link Sandwich(w/Pepper Jack, Jalapenos, Onion, House Special Garlic Sauce, Special Dressing, on Dutch Crunch, $ 5.50, ): I thought this was a solid sandwich, but not amazing. Again, the Dutch Crunch was good, and I wish they used more sauce. However, the sausage was flavorful and cooked well. I would probably order this sandwich again. Overall, I thought the sandwiches from here were ok, but I think there are better delis on the peninsula to eat at. I did like the online ordering system, which made ordering ahead simple. Downtown Redwood City is usually pretty busy, and it can be difficult to find parking even though there are a good number of metered spots available.

SonomaSub used to be Ed’s Sub Center… seems like the name change came with new owners, but everything else is pretty much EXACTLY the same as Ed’s Sub Center used to be… but now with bagels and donuts added! While I can’t speak to their new breakfast options, the sandwiches are still plenty good(it’s the exact same menu), and the new owner(or, at least, the guy that is always working there) tries really hard to make sure you get taken care of OK. Daily special: with the purchase of a sandwich and drink, you get a bag of chips for free!
