I just had the worst jalea ever over fried, lack of seafood mixture served on old lettuce and Yuca isn’t fully cooked. Over priced. someone was to busy watching peru lose to Colombia. I can’t believe I waited over 1 hour for this crap and the nerve of this place they forget the green sauce. You guys lucky pio pio doesn’t serve a full menu ether way you just lost a customer.

The food was beyond tasteful, fresh and delicious! The waiter was friendly and made you feel right at home! Everything was cooked and made just perfectly, especially the green sauce! The prices are very reasonable as well. I am so happy to have this amazing restaurant in my neighborhood, I will definitely be a regular there!

I write this with a very heavy heart… I went to MACA this past week by myself. Everything came out perfect as requested and the food was actually very good, which is why I’m so saddened to write this review… When it was time to clear the table, the waiter cleared the empty dishes and placed them in the trolley under the window where the food comes out. This is where things get DISGUSTING… The ramekin of the green sauce that is automatically placed on the table with the corn(they place this upon seating) was placed on the COUNTERTOBEREUSEDFORANOTHERTABLE!!! Now, originally this may not appear to be a BIGDEAL, however because I was dining alone, i used the spoon that comes with the sauce and placed it in my MOUTH! I called the waiter over and TOLD him that I had that spoon in my mouth. He told me ‘oh don’t worry, we throw that away…’ When he proceeded to discard all the sauces on the counter, the other gentleman behind the counter said something to him in Spanish, where the waiter responded and THEYBOTHLOOKEDATME. I don’t wish to get anyone fired or in trouble. I didn’t cause a scene. I paid my bill and left, however this has been bothering me all weekend… and I simply CANNOT let this be ignored. We are living in a world of diseases… Infectious mononucleosis aka MONO, HEPATITIS B, INFLUENZA, VIRALMENINGITIS are amongst a few that are spread by SALIVA… Let me continue to say… the last one, VIRALMENINGITIS –YOUCANACTUALLYDIEFROM!!! I know this because a friend DIED from this several years ago… THISISTHATSERIOUS!!! What i witnessed is beyond SHOCKING… It’s DISTURBING… It is simply NOTOKAY to reuse ANYTHING that has been served to a table! Under ANYCIRCUMSTANCES… I understand they are a small restaurant and they are attempting to conserve on costs, however this cannot be done at the expense of people trust. As a person that frequents restaurants weekly, I do this with the comfort that they are practicing appropriate hygiene for their guests. I don’t wish for MACA to close, however, I hope this review gives them the WAKEUPCALL… to NEVER, EVER do this again.

Came here on a Sunday night with my family for my bday dinner. Loved the food! I had a beef empanada with a chipotle mayo was really good! Their papa la huncahina was really good. I had their Jalea for one and it was still too much and shared it. Their fried yuca was good also! Sangria was also really good. Amazing food! Much better than the pio pio down the same street.

Boiiiiiii. This shit here, this shit right here !!! Bangin!!! The chicken with their green sauce is outstanding Rice and beans are litttttt Fried yuca is delicious with their house made garlic sauce Seriously great food, the cook came around to ask about the meals, which for me is a huge plus Pio pio is a staple in the area(a few doors down) and it was empty. I am wondering if maca is stealing its customers since it was empty ! I’m for sure returning here

Despite the expected wait on Mother’s Day, the staff was so unbelievably pleasant and friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were a great size. We even got free Pisco shots at the end of our meal! Highly recommend!

Last night a friend and I decided to try something different. I am a Brooklynite so needless to say I frequent mostly Brooklyn restaurants. It was my friends night to choose and he chose MACA. This was my first time eating Peruvian and was not disappointed at all with the beef Lomo Saltado. The beef was seasoned to perfection. The pitcher of Sangria was very tasty as well. I also can not forget to mention the outstanding, genuine customer service. I will definitely be returning– thanks MACA!

I came here with my family. The service very friendly we didn’t have a reservation for our party of 11, but it was a Monday night and not busy at all. We all got a variety of dishes, I had the seafood soup which was very good(I asked for spicy and it was perfect). The tostones were wonderful as well and we had a bunch of different sauces for dipping. Only reason for 4 stars was due to the slight confusion with service. It may have been because we were the only people in there, but when ordering drinks people would get missed. Overall it was a very good time, I would definitely recommend!

Great place to come for Peruvian food. The ambiance is great. The staff is friendly, helpful and great at suggestions. The food is awesome. We ordered: Jalea Personal: It consisted of fried seafood: clams, calamari and others. The flavor is great. Not too greasy and not undercooked. They were all cooked right. All the components were crispy and delish. PS Maca: Didn’t drink it. But my friend said it was great. Chicha Morada: Didn’t drink it. But my friend said it was great. Tallarines Verde/Bisteck: The steak was tender and delish. The green pasta was well made, not too dry and not too wet. It was made right! Lomo Saltado: Didn’t try it. But my friend said it was great. Causa de Camarones: Delish dish even though I couldn’t tell what it was made of. Alfajores: A traditional Peruvian cookie. It was a bit too sweet for me. Mazamorra: A traditional Peruvian dessert. You can get one free from checking in with the Unilocal app. Delish but it was a bit too sweet for me. Anticuchos: The meat was well made and delish. Papa Rellena: Crispy on the outside and the beef on the inside were well made. The onions used as garnish were fresh and crispy. Tamales: well made and delish. The onions used as garnish were fresh and crispy. Definitely worth coming to this place again for dinner!

Great place, serving sizes are big, staffs were amiable and environment was clean and relaxing. My friend and I ordered the Ceviche mixed, a whole rotisserie chicken and a beef friend rice. We had trouble finishing the fried rice rice, but that’s only because it was relatively big. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to try Peruvian cuisine.

I love traditional Peruvian food, this place hits all the right notes. Aji verde(green sauce) had great heat & flavor. The ceviche mixto was huge, fresh and tender. The pasta w/green sauce & steak was the best I’ve had. The finisher was the traditional & hard to find lucuma ice cream. Just sweet enough, great food, great service.

Delicious peruvian food! We walked right in and greeted right away to our seats. I’ve tried plenty of peruvian restaurants in Queens and this one by far is the best. The Anticuchos and the Papa ala Huancaina were the best! Highly recommend you guys coming here

Such mixed feelings about this restaurant… We were actually on our way to Pio Pio, which was only a few doors down, but that Pio Pio was WAY too small. Then, we saw Maca and said why not. The waiter there was extremely sweet and attentive, which is probably the only reason why I gave this place 2 stars. We got 2 combo #3(chicken, sausage and fries, salad, and plantains) for the 6 of us, plus 2 beans on the side. Now first of all, the food is here mediocre; not good but not bad. Here’s the reason why for my low ratings: the time waiting for the damn food. I mean I understand that it takes a while for the food to cook because we ordered a lot, but one thing I don’t understand is that they brought the food out one. by. one. The plantains came out first, then we waited legit 30 more min for the next plate, then another 15 min for the next, and the next, and the next. Total wait time for our food to come out? Oh, about 1 hour and 30 min. Okay, that is a huge huge huge NO. And not only that, the waitress that took our order clearly made a mistake in our order because she cannot really understand or speak English. There was no explanation or apology given to us because of this issue, andddd the owner was literally 3 feet away from us, and he didn’t even bother greeting us, or apologizing to us. Props to that one guy waiter that literally makes this restaurant keep its business.

Some good Peruvian food, don’t waste your time at Wanka. Maca’s food is well seasoned the steak is delicious. Always looking for good Peruvian food an epic quest as a Peruvian. Appetizers: Papa ala Huncaina — solid, not the bright yellow I am used to but great flavor a little spicy but I love spice! Tamale de Puerco — amazing I love tamales peruanos And these are good but I have had better the pork was a bit too fatty for me. Entrees: Tallarines Ala Huncaina– great extremely cheesy almost resembles Mac and cheese again not exactly what I am used to but still a banger. Arroz Chaufa de pollo– Well seasoned and well portioned. Lomo Saltado-perfectly cooked and seasoned this was great ! Side notes: the wait for our food was around 35 – 40 minutes, and even though my mother happily ate the Tallarines ala huancaina she ordered Tallarines verdes. Would still come back though. Service — 4 out of 5 Food– 4.5 out of 5 Not great for parking, but again would come back again.

Came here late one night on a trip to NYC and really stumbled upon this place… really glad we did. At first a little nervous because we were the only customers, but as time went by the place for sure started to fill up… great atmosphere and very charming place. I am really not sure the name for it but my wife and I split the small seafood platter and all I will say it was unbelievable… I was so full but just kept eating because I didn’t want any to go to waste. Partially because we ate the beef rice before hand… suggestion the portions here are huge and more family style so look to share most things. Either way this was excellent food and really worth stopping in for a try.

Considering that this is the second day operating I will give the place 3. Parking is an issue because its on a major boulevard, I like the fact that you can walk in and feel that there is space to enjoy your meal not like in the neighboring Pio Pio which is a shoe box. Ok so a ceviche mixto a half a chicken a small jalea an avocado salad french fries and chorros ala chalaca(mussels topped off with a corn relish). The ceviche was good, the chicken needed salt but it was juicy, the jalea was good because it was not greasy, fries are fries, chorros I’ve had better. Ricoto hot sauce was nicer than your fake peruvian hot sauces that alot of people attempt to claim fame on. Considering they are at grand opening status I’m sure that they will be doing well very soon once they find their rhythm I’ve eaten at a lot of peruvian places many good and bad have faith people…
