Ain’t no shame in my game.
I am not embarrassed to declare my love for Popeye’s!
Every now and then, I have a craving for their spicy, moist chicken strips with sweet mustard sauce, a warm biscuit with honey and butter, and their sweet tea… especially that «dirty rice» now known as Cajun rice.
With a choice between KFC, Church’s, or Popeye’s, Popeye’s is so many levels better than the other fast food fried chicken spots.
One of the very few chain fast food restaurants that I actually crave every now and then.
I think people are ashamed of declaring their love for this fried chicken joint because of the current Unilocal star rating. It’s definitely not In-​N-​Out with their consistently high Unilocal ratings.
Convenient, comforting fast food at one of its very best.
It’s most likely not the best quality ingredients. Not a great choice if you’re trying to be healthy (duh!). Their food is so finger lickin’, lip smacking delicious. Who goes to a fried chicken restaurant to be healthy? You know what you’re getting yourself into. Every now and then doesn’t hurt, right?
Hits the spot every time I eat it.

Experienced poor customer service and made two attempts to discuss with management.
No response from either attempt. Too many other choices to choose from.

I am a fan of Popeyes in general. However, this particular location is exceptional. The staff are always friendly and attentive. I usually don’t have to wait any longer than is expected. The food is always perfectly cooked! I go out of my way to come to this location because I never have to question it.

No STAR! The worst Popeyes experience ever! Stop by today I actually paused on my way to the trash to write this review. TERRIBLE. If u want chicken breast jerky and Mac and cheese paste? this is the place. My food was absolutely disgusting. I’d never come here again.

LOVE Popeyes spicy chicken tenders and biscuits!!! At this location specifically, my food is always hot and fresh. I usually wait quite a bit but since the food is piping hot I don’t mind that much.
I docked a star because at this location, they NEVER have the unsweetened tea out which is my favorite. The one time they did have the canister out, it was filled with sweet tea so it was misleading.
The only thing I hate about Popeyes is their sides. The fries are the best. Other sides are very inconsistent; watery Mac & cheese, rice tastes like dirt etc. I hope someday I can Order a side salad with my chicken so I don’t feel completely guilty hah

The only reason why I am not giving this place 5 stars is because ITS SO BAD FOR YOU.
HOWEVER, everything else aside, how can you not LOVE popeyes!?! the SKIN, its so crispy, the GRAVY with some … i don’t know what chunks are those. SO GOOD. I know most people eat this chicken with ketchup or something but i think everyone should try it with the gravy that comes with the mashed potatoes. Its just the way i got used to eating fried chicken and its really good.
The biscuits are really something else as well. I really LOVE the way its so salty and buttery. Some people might find the overkill of flavor not favorable to the place. But it totally aligns with my craving so … YES I LOVE IT.
Seriously, Popeyes is a GEM.

Their employees are always polite despite a lot of what they have to deal with. They remodeled so the place looks pretty nice

They need to organize their workflow better. My order was not done on time because they misplaced my order. I noticed that most people got their orders for carry out pretty quickly and i was even ahead of them. When i checked with the cashier, she said «oh,» which for me it meant «oopps, we forgot about you.» The cook has to look for my ticket order. I had to wait again for at least 10 mins before my order was ready. The cashier didnt even apologize for their mistake. Need to improve on their workflow and customer service.

Customer service here is extra amazing. All three employee’s were great. They have to deal with extra special people. What I mean is crazy people. Lol. They do a great job.

Friendly and attentive female staffs. Delicious and fast. Definitely a regular here.

My love for Popeye’s Chicken can not be put into words. All I can say is that any place that has good chicken and Hawaiian punch deserves to take my money.

Everyone else is great here except for Janneth. She always have this attitude and its even worse on the old people who come here.

It’s a clean. Stuffs are not irritated when you can’t make up your mind from their confusing menu. The chickens are tasty & they doesn’t taste like frozen. The oil they use, probably not over used (like KFC) so the food tastes fresh. And they actually make on order, so it’s always fresh. I don’t expect super high quality from here & what I get is good enough.

I love Popeye’s chicken and the choices of side dishes. For that reason I give this place 3 stars instead of 2, which this location deserves. I came here yesterday with my boyfriend to satisfy my craving. We each ordered combos and waited about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. It was really busy at the time we were there so I didn’t mind the wait. After our number was called, we took the bag and went home. Once we got home and looked in the bag, my side dish was missing. Normally I wouldn’t go back for something like that, but when a combo costs $ 9, it would be nice if everything was there. It sucks to pay for something you don’t get. So we wasted gas and went back to the restaurant to say we didn’t get it. When we went back, the employees knew exactly what we were missing before I even said anything. If they knew something was missing, why did they let us leave in the first place? They gave us the side dish after a couple minutes of waiting and that was it. No free item to apologize or coupon for next time.
Other than that, the food always tastes good and fresh.

It’s true their lobby is rarely clean and Stephanie left my food on the kitchen counter after passing in front of it three times, she was helping a customer, last time I came in, the service is always great the people are nice and smile. I come in maybe once every other month and yet they still remember me. I like this place and their Tuesday special can’t be beat!

Great! first time! Stephanie was great too. I did not know about the special (3 tenders with drink and 2 sides for $ 6) and she let me know about it when i was ordering the same meal but with one side for $ 7.49. Good deal! Did not like the mac and cheese though… tasted kinda too starchy.
I would come back to try more. :)

Delicious shrimp. I only come to popeyes for shrim and their cajun mashed potatoes and gravy. This popeyes never dissapoints. The food quality is perfect not greasy yet crunchy and well cooked. The place is very clean and the employees are freindly.

Longest wait ever dealing with these incompetent workers… the main one is Janeth!!! If I wasn’t trying to get home to watch RHOA Id take the time to go completely off on them but then again they probably wouldn’t even understand what I’m saying!
Just go somewhere else!

You can’t go wrong with the Tuesday special 2pc & biscuit! This place is my sinful addiction. Extra hot sauce please! I L.O.V.E the red beans & rice. Yeah it’s not authentic Cajun necessarily, but it’s fried chicken! Yummy spicy friiiiied chicken.

It should be a Unilocal axiom that all stars are not created equal. In fact, it’s downright Orwellian, because some stars are more equal than others.
There are stars for objective quality. Then there are stars for quality for the price. Then there are stars for how well the place does what it tries to do. Stars, stars, stars.
I’d normally not go anywhere near Popeyes. And the increase in price of the 99 cent special to 1.29 is hefty on a percentage basis. But a thigh and a leg at that price on Tuesdays? With pretty swift service and ample parking? Man, if I’m anywhere near the corner of Reseda Boulevard and Van Owen on a Tuesday, I’m coming in.
Skip everything else. Get the special. Stop in at the nearby Big Lots to buy a couple of inexpensive quarts of oil for your car. Feel virtuous. And don’t worry about the calories. You won’t be back for a month. Just enjoy.
