Enjoyed our omelet breakfast and benedicts. Taste was delicious and definitely enjoyed the food. Fortunately the wait was only 15 mins.

We went here because our friends said that it’s a neighborhood institution and one of the better places for lunch in Rochester. It’s pretty busy on a Sunday, with a 30 minute wait. Luckily, it was a really warm day at the end of February this year so we were able to wait outside. Once we got inside, the five of us(4 adults and a kid) were seated in a fairly tiny booth. None of us are particularly lardy people, but it was a tight squeeze, and I spent most of the time trying not to knock elbows with Lee. Service was prompt and friendly, with plenty of refills on coffee, which is something that always makes me happy. The food was pretty okay, but with a few issues. I ordered Eggs Benedict(because of course, that’s what I do.) It was served with just the benedict only, no sides of home fries, not even a fruit garnish or anything like that. That was a bit surprising to me, and made me a little bit bummed, as one of my favorite things to do with home fries and a benedict is to use them to soak up all the leftover yummy sauces and egg yolk. Lee was feeling more like lunch than breakfast, so he decided to go for a reuben. The taste was good, but the beef was really a bit on the chewy and leathery side, and it was drowned in dressing. Our friends seemed to be happy with their choices — a wild mushroom omelet and the hummus platter. I think overall this was a decent place, but I suspect given this town, there’s probably a few places I’d like to give a try to before I went back here.

We love Jines. The menu is extensive, and all the items we have ordered have been excellent. Bacon not exactly to your liking? They will fix. While we absolutely love their breakfast selections, we have eaten there for lunch and dinner… breakfast is best for sure. Parking is what it is, for being on Park Ave, and there is outdoor seating in good weather. Peter and the rest of the team work hard to provide a high level of service… never had a clunker server yet. Like most places that serve good food at reasonable prices, there can frequently be a wait to get a table. So for those who don’t find Jines to their liking, please consider going somewhere else, so the wait will be shorter for the rest of us! Jk. sort of.

Jines is the place to go for breakfast. I usually avoid it on the weekends because it’s crazy busy but during the week it’s not as bad. The Banana Bread french toast is amazing. The first time I had it I thought«Why has no one ever done this before?» I’ve only been there for lunch once and that was good but breakfast is where it’s at. The service is always beyond good. Definitely recommend

Ok here’s the deal you will wait, it is what it is. Is it worth it yes… We all came for breakfast/brunch on Sunday. I got the Lox Omelet with herbs with a side of home fries and toast. It was tasty I just wished the omelette was hotter… Oh well, my friends got a version of Eggs Benedict, Banana French Toast, Pancakes and a egg white omelette. We shared a good deal of all of this. We had coffee, water no «brunch cocktails» alas we did not have any not sure they do one? Service was good, not rushed considering how many people were in the restaurant. Everything was tasty, no complaints, our server was good. But know this SUNDAY is crazy around The ROC everyone seems to go out so. I’ll provide a few photos and I’ll be back for sure.

I’ve been to Jine’s several times over the past year. The location is fantastic and if you’re lucky enough to be there during good weather, outdoor seating is always a good option. I’ve always had fast and friendly service, so no complaints! Unfortunately, I just haven’t had any above average meals there. I usually just have breakfast there and between French Toast, Pancakes and a simple Eggs and Toast meal, nothing has stood out. The last time I had Eggs and Toast, my raisin toast was stale. This place seems to be a staple for Park Ave lovers, but I just haven’t had a great meal yet here. I won’t give up though and hopefully I’ll find some other menu items that taste great!

Went for breakfast on advice of my daughter who lives in Rochester. Very busy pre-holiday crowd . Staff friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good. I had poached eggs which were perfect. My 10 year old companion had a ham and cheese omelet which he pronounced delicious. Lots of choices. Wait was a little long hence the four stars. Nice area of the city, free on street parking but you may have to drive around a little to find a space. Would have no problem returning.

This is your average Saturday or Sunday go to hangover breakfast. I went with some girlfriends after a long night out on Park Ave… Anyway I had a western omelette with a side of Greek potatoes which isn’t my usual order but it was massive and helped with the hangover. The omelette was so so and very typical diner eggs, but the potatoes were my favorite part! Next time I’m there, I’ll go for lunch– their salads looked great coming out along with the clubs and BLT. It’s a must to at least try when you’re on park, and you’re always guaranteed fast service!

The best part about Jines is that in warm weather they have alot of outdoor tables on the busiest corner of Park Ave which makes for great people watching. Which is nice. Their«diner» menu is extensive so if you come with a group everyone should be able to find something they like. Over the years I have eaten dozens of entrees but none really jump out. The food itself is decent but nothing special. The prices are reasonable. They do serve beer and wine. Service is usually friendly and efficient.

Loved the idea of the banana bread french toast, however the bread was very dense which does not make for very good french toast. They give you three slices which is a lot. Our server was pretty spacey as well. Kept forgetting things. I will say I prefer just going to a diner, at least they remember to refill my coffee.

Went here for breakfast a few days ago! We love Jines! We are regulars here and have been coming here for about 3 years now! The wait staff are all great! Andrea is wonderful! She remembers everyone! She remembered everything from our engagement to the skim milk my fiancé likes in her coffee! Jines is a wonderful restaurant! We have had everything on there menu for breakfast! Pumpkin pancakes, 4 egg omelettes, oatmeal, fruit, French toast, home fries, bacon, etc. I don’t think we have ever been disappointed! If only the would cater our wedding!

I had heard so much about how good jines was for brunch and breakfast, but I was a little underwhelmed. I had a bacon and avocado omelet that was mostly bacon and not enough avocado. I liked that there were more brunch options, but the regular breakfast options were a little too simple for my taste.

I’ve been here many times for breakfast and dinner since moving down the street from Jines. Most of the time it’s good service and great food, but my last two visits are causing me to step away for a while. My last two visits have been plagued by very long wait times due to twice being passed over by the hostesses. I don’t know why I have been overlooked and people who have come long after I first arrived were seated before me, but I was not amused. The food has always been great. I love the eggs and corned beef hash for breakfast, but when I have to wait 40 minutes just to be seated, the food tastes a little less flavorful. Okay. With my frustration out of the way, I can say that the serving staff has always been good, and the cooks have always been great. The food is one place that I can’t complain about. I would still recommend Jines to friends and family, but I am going to take some time exploring some of the many other great restaurants on Park Ave.

Big menus are normally a bad sign, but Jines is the exception. They have a ton of options, yet everything is unique, fresh, and delicious. The food is great and the atmosphere is great. They have a decent amount of outdoor seating for Park Ave. Will definitely keep going back.

I love Jines, and since we live around the corner it is easier to frequent this place. I have to update my review because my experience today was less than stellar. When it is the time of year with festivals, and graduations, dance recitals, etc. I know that this place is going to be really busy. It’s expected. That’s cool man, I can be a patient young lass, not a park ave princess. But when you say the wait is going to be about 20 minutes, and it is closer to 50, that isn’t cool. There were also some couples and parties of two that were seated before us, when we had been there for a while longer. That is when the hanger started to set in. The seating outside was so tight today that the waitress literally couldn’t even get to our table. It took about 15 minutes for a waitress to even get to us, and a really, really long time for the direly needed coffee to make its way over. The food was great, I normally get the Eggs Michael, and my Michael got the corn beef hash with eggs. Life was good after the hanger was gone, but the waiting/having people seated before us was kind of crappy. I hope that they get their summer groove together a little better soon.

My family, that I’m in town visiting, has frequented this place for years so I was pretty prepared with proper expectations. Another reviewer hit the nail on the head with the ambiance upon entering is quickly changed to a very diner-ish feel once you are seated. The menu was overwhelming for me but if I were a local, I would have loved that aspect, as well as being able to choose seemingly authentic Greek fare from what otherwise would be a typical restaurant menu. We started with the saganaki. Yum. I mean, it is fried cheese, what else do I need to say? Since arriving in NY, I had been craving a fish fry, so that’s what I ordered. It was fine. I’ve definitely had better but there was ample fish at least. I’m faulting myself for not relying on Greek fare and being more patient with the fish fry needs. My lunch mate had the chicken gyro. The chicken could have and should have been cooked a touch longer(there was still some pink, eh, but not enough for us to send it back) but it was plentiful and had good seasoning, as did the tzatziki, which I often find bland but overused.

This is always going to be your local Park Ave. neighborhood diner. Families can experience a wide range of emotions going on in their lives, all while having a delicious breakfast at Jines. I enjoy there outdoor seating when the weather is nice out. On the note of outdoor seating, Jines always seems to have a severe bee problem sometimes when your eating your meal. They need to hire an exterminator to douse the patio during peak spring/summer days. Every-time I enter into Jines, I always have a welcoming experience. It is nice to see Peter always routinely making sure everything in the front, and back of house is going smoothly. The host places me in my usual spot, by the nice bar stool area overlooking the kitchen. This is a prime view of seeing how well Peter operates the expo line, with the servers. Speaking of which, every server I had was always attentive to my needs right from the start of my cup of coffee. Now while I recommend Jines for breakfast/brunch, there weak spot falls under there dinner entrée’s. Jines is a staple restaurant that always seems to re-invent itself for the times. However, for dinner entrees, they really pushed the envelope on there prices. People still look at Jines as being a diner, so the community is going to be reluctant to pay $ 15.00−18.00 on plate of food for dinner, that is not THATGREAT of quality. I «heart» Jines, but your not a Michelin 5– Star restaurant, lower your dinner prices!!! Let’s go on to the quality of food. Breakfast: This is the main highlight here at Jines. I never went wrong with ANY of their breakfast entrees’. I usually get the Breakfast Combo, with French Toast, OE eggs, sausage, corn beef hash, and wheat toast. This is such a hearty breakfast with the deliciously fluffy golden brown french toast. You can taste the Italian seasoning in the sausage. The corn beef hash was a little salty for my taste, you can tell it came out of a can. The eggs are always cooked to perfection, with a nice runny yolk in the middle. The Belgium Waffle is also another breakfast highlight at Jines. My waffle was always huge, and golden brown. It even had that nice crispy edge to it, which makes you know it was made to perfection. I usually like my waffles plain, but Jines offers a variety of toppings including apples, and raisins. The cinnamon syrup is a hidden gem in the restaurant. It is a homemade syrup that tastes like your eating a mini cinnamon bun. Also go for ANY of there Eggs Benedict, my personnel favorite is the Eggs Michelle. Two perfectly poached eggs, with an English muffin that was soft to cut through. Topped with mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and a temperature thick hollandaise sauce. Lunch: The wrap’s, sandwiches, burgers, and panini’s are truly a lunch favorite at Jines. All these selections are reasonably priced, which keeps loyal customers retention rate high during the peak lunch time period. The Mediterranean Chicken Wrap gives you the total Greek experience for lunch. Inside is fresh cut grilled chicken breast combined with romaine lettuce, sun dried tomatoes, olives, red onions and fresh feta cheese. It is then perfectly rolled in a sun dried tomato basil flour tortilla. The Greek taziki dressing brings all the flavors of the wrap together. The Sam & George Sandwich is also a fan favorite by many in the Park Ave. community. A perfectly grilled marinated chicken breast topped with ham, melted mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and tomato. The Cajun seasoning on top gives this sandwich the extra kick it needed, giving you a taste of New Orleans Greek style. The sourdough bread HAS to be grilled perfectly or else the entire sandwich will fall apart. Overall: Friendly/Quick Service, Welcoming Owner, Top-Notch Breakfast, Cinnamon Syrup, Eggs Michelle Benedict, Golden Brown Waffles, Mediterranean Wrap, Sam&George Sandwich, Lack-luster dinner/pricing for entrees’, Comfortable Outdoor Patio(when there are no bees), and a great sense of community… I will be back.

To sum this place up in one sentence, I can say«great food and terrible service!!!» A service as bad as the one I would get at IHOP! :( After reading most of the reviews of this place on Unilocal,I figured it was about time to pay this place a visit. There was quite a long line of hungry diners waiting to be called when we got there! After a good half hour wait, we were seated. First stop: The service-worthy of zero stars The place is jam-packed, so i can comprehend that the waiters must be having a hard time attending to every need of the customers, but our waiter never showed up to take our order! And by never I mean not even after 45 minutes; we had to ask someone else to do it for her! Our glasses of water were never refilled, our cups of coffee left to ignorance! The food came and it was not what we had ordered And as the cherry on top, we also got the wrong check! I wanted to dock all the points of the world off this place for the service, yet thanks to the lovely ambience of the place I had a very good time! The food: a decent four stars I got the California Benedict with home fries. The Benedict was bland! The hollandaise sauce on top too runny for my taste! I like a thicker sauce with more pronounced flavors into it. This one just lacked what it takes for a dish to be remembered. The home fries were very good with rich garlic flavor. My partner got a Meditterenian omelette and Belgian waffle. The Omelette was much better, the generous use of feta made it pungent and delectable. Overall, the food was good. Would I go back? The service makes me very hesitant on that question which is very unfortunate…

We sat outside in the sun Wednesday Morning for breakfast(vacation day). Swift service, delish food and fantastic attention from waitress. I ordered the Mediterrian Omelette and I was AMAZED with how delish it was. Wow! It was huge and the filling was so flavorful! My guest got the banana bread french toast and it was so delish. Possibly the most amazing thing Ive tasted in a long time. Food was pipin hot, portions were spot on, and everything about Jines was perfect. I have been there many times, however, this trip thier really took the cake! We sat outside in the sunshine. What an enjoyable breakfast! #soonerorlatereveryonedinesatjines
