(4.5) I love the Greek salad here and the falafels. Sinbad offers a variety of food for people with different diets. As a vegetarian it was easy for me to eat here which I always appreciate. It also has tasty desserts and the prices are very reasonable.

I didn’t know what to expect when my friends and I visited here, but the menu looked delicious. It was so hard to make a choice! I had the gyro pita that was a perfect size that you could pick up and bite into with great Persian taste. Not to mention, you cannot beat the price. I would recommend to anyone who is willing to try new things or has tastebuds for Persian/Mediterranean cuisine, and will surely try the rest of the menu next time!

A solid 4-star restaurant. I always order stuffed grape leaves as it’s my favorite appetizer. The salads and dressings are flavorful. Last time I was here I ordered the marinated Cornish hen and it was delicious. The owner was very friendly and asked if we were enjoying everything.

I have not been to Sinbad’s in a while, but I was in the area and looking for a tasty place to take a friend. It was crowded, but it was on a Saturday night, prime dinner time. The food was the same as I recalled, fresh, full of flavor at a great price. Our waitress was able to assist me ordering and they were able to accomdate me being gluten and dairy free. I had grilled chicken of a bed of salad, it was so tasty I could not get the food into my mouth fast enough. The menu is pretty vast and there is something for everyone. Yes, it was loud in there, but it’s small, and was to be expected. The service was also a bit slow, so if you’re in a hurry this may not be a good thing for you. But to me, I don’t mind having having some good conversation over a glass of wine waiting for my food to arrive. Doesn’t anyone talk anymore? and who likes to feel rushed between courses? Great food selection, great wine selection, and great after dinner treats. My friend ordered a cappuccino and it smelled amazing and looked fantastic as well. I’m happy I went back, great service, awesome food, and friendly service. Too bad it was chilly outside, or I would have loved to eat my dinner sidewalk side.

Defiantly one of my favorites, maybe my favorite, in Rochester. Their hummus is delicious and smooth(order the hummus), and the pizzas keep well if you can’t finish it all in one go(the portions are very generous). I’d recommend the Pharaoh Pizza, which has a nice mix of flavors. In my experience, the staff are all very friendly and attentive as well, even when the restaurant is busy.

The food was good, service not so much. My friends and I went and it took a server a good amount of time just to bring us water. It wasn’t too busy as well. Once we got our food she never asked if we needed anything or filled our waters. We had to stop her a couple times because she never checked our table. The food made up for it but I wouldn’t go again unless it’s take out

Food was good, staff was friendly BUT they charged me $ 2 for a side of hotsauce. I know $ 2 is only $ 2 and I wasn’t going to complain about it then but after thinking about it I was questioning why they had to charge that. It’s like charging for a side of ranch or ketchup, not cool. I don’t think I have even been charged for a side of hotsauce/salsa etc at any restaurant, ever.

One of the few places in Rochester to get really good falafel. The portions are plentiful. Menu items that I have tried & enjoyed are the lentil soup, hummus, pitas, and falafel(of course). They have a patio which is a great place to hang out & eat when the weather is nice.

Love, love, love it here. While great service is never a guarantee, the food is so good I’ll always come back. One of the best restaurants the Park Ave area has to offer.

I have been eating at Sinbad’s for over 15 years. I have enjoyed almost everything on the menu during one visit or another and have never had a bad meal there. I find the food authentic, the quality very good, the staff friendly, efficient and knowledgable, and the atmosphere casual and pleasant. My favorite dishes are the gazpacho(when in season), fatayer, malfouf, hendbeh salad, funghi pasta, and Ali Baba pita ‘pitza’. I also love that they prepare their baba like moutabal(you can taste the roasted eggplant!), and that they have a big variety of desserts to choose from. And that the menu has unique items you can’t find at any other Mediterranean eateries in the city. Portions are also pretty big — most of the appetizers are enough for a meal, and pitzas and salads are big enough to be shared. But you can’t go wrong with anything you try — even if you think things like green beans and artichokes or beets sound ‘weird.‘ My only criticisms are these: they never give you enough bread when you order a dip like hummus or baba; you can’t get a side order or ‘extra’ of their amazing garlic sauce(which is used as a base for some of the pitzas); and they don’t offer any gluten-free options. Gluten free would not be traditional in Lebanese culture, and as I mentioned this food to me is very authentic. But those with dietary restrictions should take note. If you are driving here from outside the city, there is limited parking behind the building accessed by a driveway between Sinbad’s and Dragonfly bar. There’s also street parking. Give yourself time to find a spot and go early in case there’s a wait since they don’t take reservations.

Decent Lebanese food overall but they use to many herbs/spices on some of their dishes. What would have made all the difference is the service. The service is pretty bad here… It took so long to come to the table from ordering to getting our food to getting the check. Also, the whole staff has a miserable look on their face, which really brings down the mood.

I had the pasta, wasn’t anything great. May give it another try due to my poor choice of picking the pasta to eat. What really didnt help was the poor service me and my friends received. Lady we had didnt even check up on us. Took our order and gave us our food, thats it.

Got take from Sinbad’s today. The food was good BUT the owner of my wonderful company had to throw his out. There was a long hair entwined in his artichoke salad. I ordered a Greek salad with added falafel. One falafel. Yes folks one small falafel. That was a bummer. Will I go back? Probably but not anytime soon.

went here over the summer so we got to sit outside which is what i wanted to do. i had this place bookmarked for the longest time and will probably head back over the summer. I’ve heard great things about it, even though i’m not a huge fan of greek food i wanted to try it out. i can’t really speak to the inside cause i haven’t seen it. we got seated right away outside and it was quite busy for it being lunch on a weekday i remember. the only thing i didn’t like was that the tables are way too close together, but i guess they must accommodate the crowd for when everyone wants to sit outside. They have a a pretty extensive menu of a lot of greek food so if you’re in the mood for that, this is the place. next time id like to try their hummus, surprised i didn’t do so!

The food at Sinbad’s is totally delicious. I’ve never disliked something I’ve ordered off their menu. They are remarkably consistent, too. All the food is consistently tasty and fresh. Love their gyros, salads, pizzas, pasta, and pretty much everything they offer. The outdoor seating is great in the summer, but I also totally appreciate the fact that they do take out. I enjoy ordering takeout and bringing it home to eat on the porch with wine during the summer.

We only dine at Sinbad’s when we can eat outside — their indoor space is very cramped but the outdoor patio is ideal for Park Ave people watching. Our food on this recent version was very good. Two ordered the entrée with Mahi(I don’t recall what it was called) and they declared it a success. Another ordered the gyro platter and gave it a thumbs up(side note — their regular gyro«sandwich» tends to be very dry and I have stopped ordering it). Instead I ordered the pizza with their spicy red sauce, shrimp, artichoke hearts and roasted red peppers and it was quite good — I think this is the first time I had pizza here. The crust was very thin and crispy. Tasty. Our waitress was friendly and efficient.

Always delicious. The meat is always perfectly cooked, never dried out. I’ve dried many different pitas, appetizers, and a few entrees, and have never been disappointed. They’re more on the Lebanese side of Mediterranean food, but they do a great job of incorporating many different styles including Greek. They have a lot in the back and plenty of outdoor seating.

Sinning can be really good, but the best kind of sinning, is when you Sinbad. I’ve seen good days and I’ve Sinbads. Wasn’t Sinbad the name of the Lion King? Okay, enough. I brought a date here on a 1 hour road trip from Buffalo. So far, so good. We had some very white(sorry) Middle Eastern food which tasted more like college kid health food than it did Middle Eastern food. We enjoyed it, especially the salads and the hummus. I thought the Kebabs/Gyros/Souvlakis weren’t flavourful or seasoned or spiced enough to be considered MIddle Eastern food. I also thought the prices were a little high. We loved the décor and the setting and how healthy the food was, and it was a romantic evening out in the leafy posh part of Rochester. I went back more recently and got a to-go order of hummus, and the hummus still tastes great. I do think the place is overpriced though, and much more about health food and veggie food than about actual authentic Middle Eastern food. That doesn’t mean it’s not good though — it is. And it’s a wonderful place to bring a date.

Gotta give them some more love. I’ve been back several times and ordered a different thing each time. A step above some of the other spots in town and the perks of outdoor seating for people watching along Park Ave. — Their gyro meat is my jam. Among my top picks for a gyro pita in ROC — pita is toasted(like a panini press) so the whole thing is warm and toasty. — Pitzas, yum! The Sultan is one of my favorites with feta, onions, gyro meat, tomatoes and banana peppers. I also like a thin pizza and this comes atop a large pita so it’s crispy and crunchy. Order a few different ones if you’re eating with a bunch of people. They’re great to share. Others I like include the Phoenician and the Pharoah. — Salads are very large and come with lots of toppings. — Hummus order is plentiful and you can request extra pitas for no charge. Lemon-y goodness. I would love a fluffier pita as Sinbad’s are a touch thin and dry. — Chicken wings(Djej appetizer) are a must! I would never have ordered these without the suggestion, so thanks to Naz for that one. Well seasoned(not saucy), crispy grilled skin, and tender meat. — Their falafel isn’t my favorite, but I always get it as an appetizer when with a few friends. The tahini balances out the dryness. Same deal with the pita, which is a huge portion size — could be 3 meals for me! Overall, it’s a good stop for outdoor dining and takeout for some Mediterranean cuisine. P. S. there’s also a small lot behind the restaurant for parking, which I always forget about, but a good thing to keep in mind when dealing with Park Ave traffic.

After living and working in the park ave area for four years, I just recently learned about sinbad’s… Yeah I know… I had always walked by and wondered what it was but never cared too much to see what they had to offer, plus my new found love for Mediterranean is fairly new :) I ordered the chicken pita to go and got an extra side of tahini yogurt. Love that they offer carry out! The pita was long and a little crispy. Filled with grilled chicken, feta cheese, tomatoes and onion. it was yummy! I will def be back and very interested in tasting the hummus!
