«Do I laugh now or wait till it gets funny?» — Double Indemnity(1944) Being from the city which is known for hot chicken, I wanted to give Yum! Brands’ KFC the benefit of the doubt and try their«Authentic Nashville Hot Chicken». On the Scoville scale, I will place it in the 2,000−2,500 range, if that! The piece of chicken I had was not hot. I was burning my mouth on hot chicken decades ago, before I knew that Capsaicin is not water soluble. I ordered a breast meal, which comes with pickles, coleslaw and a biscuit. I agree that their use of Cayenne pepper and smoked paprika adds some spiciness to the chicken, but in no way competes with restaurants which serve«hot chicken» in Nashville. Thanks Yum! Brands for the publicity that Nashville is known for hot chicken. But to those on Gardiner Lane in Louisville, this is not it. However, this is just my review for this location. The execution of this idea may be better or worse at other locations. Thus, if you want authentic hot chicken, visit Nashville! Otherwise, I will visit KFC on occasion and have not had any negative experiences — 3 stars. This location was remodeled and serves a lunch and dinner buffet.

The lunch buffet is actually $ 7.99 now without a drink. Not too bad at all. The restroom wasn’t that great, and the food choices for meat was only fried chicken(original or crispy), and some BBQ chicken. I was hoping for some grilled chicken though. The food was well stocked and temperature was great. Good side choices to include mashed potatoes, rice and slaw. No mac n cheese???

This KFC is unlike most locations and has an all-you-can-eat buffet. Its $ 5.99 not including drink, which is a steal if you can eat more than a couple pieces of chicken. They do a good job of keeping it stocked, so its always been reasonably fresh when I”ve come to eat. I think KFC’s cole slaw is really manna from heaven and often attempt to eat a gallon or more of it, much to the distress of my gastrointestinal system.
