What a hidden gem! Don’t let the location fool you… this place is delicious! Everything seems homemade and authentic. My knowledge of Indian food is minimal, but I can say that everything I’ve had there tastes great, has great portions, and doesn’t make my stomach hurt. The spicy potato salad is a delicious side. I appreciate all the vegetarian options. The people who work there are so sweet. Take out is a great, fast, easy option as well.

This is by far the best Indian food I have had in US! Authentic Indian food! Shame that it is not so popular. We ordered a paneer wrap, paneer tikka masala and garlic naan. The wrap was soo soothing. Curry was exactly like we have back in India and I had been searching for that taste for 3 years now! The Garlic naan was the STAR of the order. absolutely loved itttt… later on we saw a punjabi uncle making naan in the kitchen. I am going to refer this place to all of my friends and next time I come here, I will get a to-go parcel for next day too!

Keep in mind this place is NOT affiliated with the store in the Berkeley. This is why they changed the Café to Kafe I assume. When they opened I asked if they were associated with them, they said they were and the original chaat café has halal chicken which they said was halal. However they changed to Kafe and I asked the question again after dining there, I asked the lady if they were still associated with the Chaat Café in Berkeley, she said they were and then I asked if the chicken was halal, she said it wasn’t basically she lied about them being associated with the original store. Food is decent, it imitated Chaat Café well. If you don’t care about a halal food, then sure go here. If you do, don’t since you won’t get a straight answer from the staff.

Tried a few dishes, it was good, but the Samosa Chaat is delicious all the way! It had all the chatak matak desi’s are looking for :) Did not like the fish pakora. Definitely, try their samosa chaat, it will not disappoint.

YUM! So I decided to get some take out. I ordered the Fish Pakora and Boti Wrap(lamb). The wrap was so delicious! It had big chunks of lamb and diced onions. It’s the best lamb wrap I have had! The Fish pakora is small pieces of fish deep fried in a batter that is spicy and has a hint of lime. It was also very good! It comes with dipping sauces as well. Can’t believe I have never tried this place before. I am eager to come back to try their other items. Place looked clean and inviting. This place is a must try! Their samosa and chicken tikka masala is bomb!!!

Order at counter and get food delivered to your table or take out. When you place your order they don’t give you a number to place on your table so if more than 1 table is waiting for food they have to ask each table if they reached the correct table. Temperature quite cold. Maybe the kitchen is hot and so they need it to be that way. Nice people work there. Very clean kitchen and restaurant. Food a bit spicier than most other Indian restaurant. They offer free range(delicious) lamb. We’ll be back.

Been wanting to try this place out for a while. It was good. I ordered the Aloo Matar(potatoes and green peas cooked in tomato sauce) with naan. I wasn’t disappointed. I almost thought it wouldn’t have been enough because the bowl/dish they served it in looked tiny. After thoroughly cleaning my plate, I left satisfied without being overly stuffed. Their naan was pretty good: flavorful, moist, not too greasy/garlicky, or light/heavy. The décor and ambiance wasn’t anything special. I’m not sure what it is about places in Natomas, but I get a consistently similar vibe that feels generic and unappealing. I was very disappointed with their mango lassi. Mango lassis are usually a highlight for me but theirs was liquidy with tiny chunks of ice, giving me the impression that it was just a cheap blend. I’d easily come back if I were in the area.

I usually hit up the Quickly next door before the Kings games. When I go to Quickly I always see people of Indian decent coming out of Chaat Kafe with To-Go bags. This is usually a sign of above par Indian Food. With that being said, I was down to give it a go. I came in on Easter Sunday around 1:00pm right before the Sacramento Kings matinée. The place was packed which I suspected. My mom and I were in line behind a Caucasian family of 5 that had a difficult time choosing their food. The lady behind the register was pleasant and gladly guided them thru the menu. With so much time to look at the menu, when my Mom and I were up to order, we already knew what to get. We ordered the aloo tiki, veggie wrap, pani puri, and the veggie pakora. The food came out in segments which wasn’t the best thing. It would have been ideal to receive the whole order at once but it came in three parts. It all came within 25 minutes. Overall my experience was a positive one. The kitchen was fully stocked with two tandori ovens and had authentic cooks back there. The food was seasoned well and was definitely made for the people of India. They didn’t hold back on the spice. Even though the Kings will be playing in Down Town next season, I’ll be sure to be back to try the rest of the menu.

The service here is really poor! Came in yesterday at around 5 pm with my girlfriend. 1. The lady at the cashier seems to want to be unbothered she’s very rude. 2. The paneer tikka Masala was very very bland, I expected a good amount of spice, but their food lacks that. 3. The samosa chaat came out very very cold, as if the samosa wasn’t quite fresh. Bottom line, I will not be returning here and will just keep giving business to chaat of India on Stockton Blvd.

I“ve been looking around to find a place that made one of my favorite dishes and I stumbled on this place after checking Unilocal. It’s in a plaza not too hard to find. Hubs and I usually come here for lunch every now and then. When you walk in its simple décor wood tables and chairs, menu up front on top. You walk up to the front and order your food there and they bring it out to you. Your eating utensils are on the left with jugs of water and the soda machine. Chaat pat puri was the real reason why we came here but other favorite dishes were Butter Chicken, Garlic Nann bread, and Paneer Pakora that we ordered. They also have lunch specials every day for $ 5. Mondays: samosa chaat, Tuesdays: chicken wrap, Wednesdays: choley bhutta, Thursdays: chicken plate and Fridays: veggie wrap. Food took about 20 mins to come but it was a good portion of food, flavors were there. The Chaat pat puri was close but I felt it was missing something but still good. Naan was fresh, butter chicken was nice and rich, very delicious and filling for the both of us.

Stopped by on our long drive home and ordered pani puri, Aloo tiki chaat, and the desi chicken wrap. The pani puri was really tasty!!! I wish they’d give more than 6 puris though! Lol. The aloo tiki chaat was absolutely delicious! It was just the right amount of spicy! The desi chicken wrap was okay… the chicken was cooked to perfection but we weren’t too fond of the taste. We got the spicy potato salad on the side with this and that was really good! Overall I would definitely recommend this place! I didn’t give it a 5 star though because of the poor customer service by the girl up front. She looked like she hated everyone including herself. If she fixed her attitude this place would be lovely!

I have such conflicting feelings about this place! First off, after 2 years living in the culture-starved New Hampshire tundra, I am so happy to finally live somewhere with a chaat restaurant again! Also the service was fast and friendly, got lots of smiles from everyone working here. That said, this is nowhere near the best chaat I’ve had in the US, and I’m determined to rate it against others in the area. We ordered the Papri Chaat, Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, and Samosa Chaat(FYI this was too much for two people — I would suggest stopping after the first 3 dishes.) Nothing was completely bad, in fact I would definitely order the Papri Chaat here again. But the rest of the dishes aren’t like how my momma makes them! Or like how I’ve eaten them anywhere else. The Bhel Puri ratio of puffed rice to vegetables was way off — in fact there were hardly any veggies in it at all… I don’t think I got a single potato. The Pani Puri, being one of my favorite dishes ever, was a true disappointment. It was almost as if they were trying to take a shortcut with the filling and use something from another dish. The pani was lacking in flavor. The Samosa Chaat was lacking in texture more than anything else, it felt so heavy and mushy. Going to try out the other chaat restaurants around before I completely write this place off.

I grabbed a bite here in between meetings and I’m happy I did. The portions are very large and the service is very friendly. I ordered the paneer tikka masala meal which came with rice, naan and veggies(garbanzos and lentils). I was surprised at just how much they served me! They also sprinkled cilantro on everything which was fabulous. I felt that the tikka masala sauce was a little on the weak side. The spice was right, but I think my palette is accustomed to a creamier texture. Still, it was a great meal at a great price.
