Love the food! Flavor and service are five stars. Everything is excellent, particularly their tacos, carnitas, carne asada, and their sauces. It’s become a weekly tradition in my group of friends. I always bring out of towners here when visiting Sacramento.

My son and I ate here while in town for a youth ice hockey tournament. We chose Chuy’s based on Unilocal reviews and that is was on the way to the airport. I was able to get gas for the rental car and fill up our bellies with the same stop. I was a little concerned at first with how new the shopping center is. In the LA area, most good taquerias have a more hole in the wall look. This center reminded me of newly developed parts of South Orange County. There is not a good taco to be found there. This place, however is the real deal. They have table service. The waitresses were very nice. Service was prompt. I like the chips and salsa served while you wait. They serve both green and red(chipotle and tomatillo I think) salsa. Both were good, but the red had better flavor. My only complaint is they were both very mild. I would at least like the option of something made on site with some heat. Having that option would have pushed my rating up to five stars. I had asada and pastor tacos. My son had pastor and carnitas. We both liked the pastor best. The meat was tender and tasted like the marinade had pineapple in it. You add your own salsa to the tacos. You need to get the key to use the bathroom. It is on a giant medallion of a keychain. The bathroom was very clean. My son and I had some time to kill before our flight. The staff let us know it was OK to just hang out after we finished eating. I appreciated that since it was raining outside. Chuy’s is a place I would go back to the next time I am in town.

I love this place so much, and I really have high expectations for Mexican food(being from the bay area and all). I pretty much live right around here and it’s a great place to order and eat or take out and comfortably eat in your own home while watching a game. All the staff is super nice and they have your food ready fast!

I’m so upset I ordered 2 sides of rice and a guacamole and it’s hilarious what they gave me for $ 7 and I actually tipped. Disappointed!! I guess I won’t be excited anymore About living close to this place total rip off!

Came for a quick dine-in on Thursday night. Unilocal ratings looked good, and it was the closest taqueria(shortest drive). One TV had the soccer game on in Spanish, and the other had the Packers-Lions game where Rodgers later threw that Hail Mary. Nice décor, they even had an inflatable Olaf snowman Christmas decoration. When it comes to Mexican food, my mood varies from enchiladas or tamales to shrimp burritos and carne asada fries. For whatever reason that day I was super hungry, and therefore opted for the Super Burrito with grilled chicken(default beans choice is refried, you can ask for black or pinto when ordering, and can also make it a «wet» burrito for 50 cents extra I believe). The complimentary chips and salsa were ok, I did prefer the green salsa to the red. Man, that Super Burrito was massive. The old me would be able to kill that, nowadays it was a little more challenging. Overall, a tasty burrito which didn’t skimp on meat filling. I will be back to try the carne asada fries and that bottomless horchata!

Let me preface this review by saying that Mexican is my favorite type of food to eat. I judge a restaurant based on their carnitas and chile Colorado. If they aren’t up to par in my book than I won’t go back. Just got home from taking out four carnitas soft tacos. They also give you chips and salsa with your order. I tried the chips and salsa first and the chips tasted stale and the salsa was like eating jarred salsa. It lacked any flavor and had very little spice to it; both green and red salsas. The carnitas tacos were wrapped in two corn tortillas each and were topped with cilantro and onion. The meat was tender but didn’t have the crispy exterior good carnitas should have. Each taco cost $ 1.75 which isn’t all that cheap for the quality you get. Perusing the menu almost all of the items they had were over $ 10. This place must think it’s a sit-down restaurant but they cook like a fast food joint. Also, while i was waiting for my food I was watching the waitress bring out someone’s dish and it was incorrectly done. So to say the least I won’t be back. If you want quality food head down the street to Don Quixote’s!

I come here a lot for their carnitas crispy tacos and their torta(Mexico sandwiches). Everything is very tasty, seasoned well, and everything is fresh! The meals usually come with a side of chips and if you dine in, there’s a salsa bar with a good selection of hot sauces, salsas, pickled jalapeños, etc. Their horchata and melon drink is very refreshing! This place is a must try!

I am in here at least twice a week(if not more). Very friendly staff. Actually I am such a regular customer that when I sit down they bring me double salsa, limes, and pico de gallo. Everything I have ordered here is excellent. I usually get either the carne asada soft tacos, combo plate with enchilada and soft taco with rice and beans, taco salad, or the taco fundidos. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good Mexican food in the Natomas area.

The food is good, don’t get me wrong. But… they can’t get a order right. I keep going back… I order a combo with rice and beans. I ask for the beans not to have cheese. I get my order and I get rice and more rice. No beans, just extra rice. This has happened now 4X Not 1X Not 2X Not 3X 4X now Tonight I made such a issue about my past 3 experiences and was told for sure that they will get it right. I get home and I have rice and more rice. No beans. Rice and more rice. I should have checked my orders, but I ordered 3 combos and the bag was overflowing. The top container was taped shut so it wouldn’t leak. I like that. But get my order right! Maybe they will let me make my order myself. #FacePalm #pleasegetmyorderright

Not a Fan of this place. I chose this place based on Unilocal reviews. Boy those people do not know good food if it hit them in the head. I am from the east coast here for a couple weeks on business. I thought California should be place for good Mexican food, not Chuys. The chips taste stale. I ordered 2 enchilada plate one ground beef(ok) and one grilled chicken(bad). The chicken was small tidbits of hard crunchy chicken. I kept looking at it as if they gave me something else. For $ 11 I left hungry and unimpressed. Several days earlier I went to Chevy’s(I know a chain but wasn’t my call to go there) but Chevy’s ultimate fajitas plate for $ 19 was delicious and plentiful I was full and had leftovers. I would return to Chevy’s but never to Chuy’s. The only positive was the staff was friendly. I did let them know what I thought of food when they asked me.

I have to say I was very impressed! Very clean inside, the service was outstanding and the food was very flavorful! We got the crispy tacos(BOMB!) and the enchiladas. Surprised at how good the beans and rice were in addition to what I assume were fresh made tortillas chips! Will for sure be goi g there again!

If you’re looking for authentic, homemade Mexican food and happen to be in or around the North Natomas area, then I would strongly suggest giving«Chuy’s Taqueria» a try. We all know that Sacramento offers an overwhelmingly vast array of Mexican eateries to choose from. And that’s a blessing considering I love eating Mexican any chance I get. If it weren’t for the high fat, sodium, and carb content, I would literally eat it almost every day of the week. Located in a busy strip mall that also includes Safeway, Panera Bread, Rite Aid,(and many others), «Chuy’s Taqueria» is actually on the quieter east part of this bustling shopping center. I had actually came here on a whim with my fiancée on a Friday evening around 7:00pm. The inside offered a very cheerful, spacious, and authentic theme to it. Included was a soda dispensary as well as a full salsa bar to customize your Mexican food cravings, We decide on dining in and as hungry as I was, I went all out and ordered their«Carne Asada» plate(for $ 11.99) complete with Spanish rice, refried beans, sliced avocados, and warm flour tortillas. My fiancée opts for three of their«Carne Asada Tacos»(priced at around $ 2.50 each). We both decide on a popular and authentic Mexican rice milk drink, their«Horchata» Our horchata drinks come out right away and I gotta tell you, these were spot-on perfect! It had the right consistency of cinnamon while still offering a delicious creaminess in each and every sip. They were so good, we actually finished our glasses before our entrees arrived! And when our food did actually arrive, the portions were mind boggling huge! Usually most restaurants give you a ton of rice and beans with very little meat. Well at «Chuy’s Taqueria» was exactly the opposite. I’m not exaggerating here but there was gigantic sliced cuts of carne asada meat that was absolutely heavenly in every way possible. The seasoning and juiciness tasted absolutely homemade. And for good measure, their rice and beans were also delicious. I think having quality food with larger than life portions scores an easy five stars in my book. I left this place feeling absolutely full to the point where I wasn’t even thinking about eating anything for days. Not to mention the service was also spot on perfect. One of the guys that greeted us was full of energy and a positive vibe. I’m pretty sure the woman who helped us was a new employee that he was training. Either way, she took care of us in a professional and timely manner. Overall, this little hidden gem of a taqueria was truly a great find in the North Natomas neighborhood of Sacramento. And for those of you that live in Midtown but want to avoid the traffic, finding a parking spot, and long lines waiting, then I would definitely recommend giving«Chuy’s Taqueria» a shot. Believe me, your tummy will be full after eating here! I will definitely be back!

I was craving Mexican food on Monday night, and my favorite local taqueria had weak A/C…not good on a day that saw triple digits. So we headed down the street to try this place for the first time. As I walked in, they immediately pasted the A/C test. It was blasting. The place was super clean. They had cloth napkins rolled up on the tables, but if you want to use paper napkins, they had those to. I wish I took pictures of the table centerpieces, each table had a small 3 inch tall oblong glass vase with a faux white iris. The nice décor threw me because I thought… ohh, the menu may be pricey. But no, the pricing was affordable – soft street taco~$ 2. The gal at the counter was so sweet, she had an awesome attitude, and great smile. As I told her that this was our first time here, she nicely explained where the salsas and foundation drinks were located, that we order at the counter and she brings us the food, and she’ll bring complimentary chips to our table. Awesome customer service skills. I ordered a couple of soft street size tacos – the meat was so tender and flavorful. Hubs ordered beans, rice, chicken enchilada, and shredded beef crispy taco. He loves his deep fried crispy shell tacos. I have to admit, hubs didn’t rave about his food but he didn’t dislike it either. Along with the typical fountain drinks, they carry Mexican Fanta bottled soda, home made Horchata and honey dew melon drink. I had the Horchata… delicious, it was so tasty that I’m still thinking about it. The food came out quickly and hot. Bonus: They serve menudo and pozole(spelling?) all week long. Most of the other local taquerias serve it only on the weekend. Overall, this place is affordably priced good food served by nice folks. I’ll be back.

Great food and service. I don’t often crave for mexican food but this place had me wanting to come back for more. People here are always happy to help explain the menu. We always go for the Torta and let me just say. it never fails! I’ve also tried their Pazole and Menudo which were very rich in flavor and they come in good portion. Price is reasonable. PLUS they have refillable Horchata! Can’t beat that.

This place was clean, that’s really important! I’m super particular when it comes to mexican food. Especially my meat, I got the Carne Asada super burito it was not the best I’ve ever eaten but definitely would eat there again. There was tons of meat in the burito places will usually try to shove it full of rice n beans. The meat was clean and hardly any fat… that was nice. My husband got some shrimp plate and said it was pretty good too. Nice atmosphere nice people and good food.

Yum. I wanted mexican food so I decided to check out this place. I was craving enchiladas and wanted tacos so I ordered both! I like the tacos, I love it when it’s a crunchy freshly deep fried taco sheet. I asked for the pork meat, and I found it a little bit more burnt than I like. As for the enchilada, I like the sauces and the meat. We also had complimentary chips. I tried the different salsas, and I found one to my liking. I like the chips too. The staff here is definitely very nice and courteous. Some of the daily deals look tasty. I want to try the taco one. You can pay extra to get the deal of a specific day on a different day.

So i’m a huge taco truck fan… not the new fancy kind, I’m talking old school ones. That said, I am establishing my credibility for enjoying and knowing good ol’ Mexican food. I came here for lunch today and loved their friendly service. Orderded the Carne Asada and asked for spicy(see pic) and was not disappointed. Generous portion and really yummy crispy fries topped with all the fixin’s of nachos. I’ll be back to try some of the other foods! It’s a bit too convenient since it’s located near my work.

Wife and I ordered chile verde which we have had here before and it was good, not great but good. But his time, the pork tasted old and almost rotten. Seriously it was like they used pork that was really, really, close to being bad, but figure hey WTF the heavy heat and spice of tomatillos and pepper will cover it up. Not so much. Next time dumasses throw it out before serving it. I’ve had chile verde in numerous restaurants and make my own as well but I know not to use rotten meat. Due to this, won’t be back. Too bad, people are nice there but don’t serve rotten meat to save a dollar.

So delicious! I don’t understand the reviews that discuss the food being bland?! Add some of that awesome salsa from the chip bar! The food is outstanding! I have had the chimichanga several times, with chicken, shrimp, next I’ll try carne asada! The food is fresh and tasty, that’s worth a wait in my book! The portions of food are large and worth every cent. I only wish the chips were warm, but that is the tiniest bit of an issue with this awesome Mexican restaurant in Natomas!
