Had the half order of carne Asada fries with everything on it & filled me up. It’s inside she’ll gas station so u would assume the food isn’t good but this place is.

I just do not like the service is horrible think it’s the most horrible thing happened to me as a customer, I placed an order over the phone and was told on 10 minutes when I go for my order. and Avia Avian last 15 minutes and just 4 employees would start making my order and when the cook does not look washed his hands and began to prepare my food, just cancel it because I did not separate toilet and very poor service. …,

I stop by occasionally for breakfast. Most of the time, I choose the breakfast burrito. It’s loaded! Both with flavor and quantity. It’s very affordable as well. Service has been pleasant. For a breakfast burrito I recommend trying it.

Love love love their food! Never disappointed. Even when they mess up my order, still enjoy it. It reminds me of food from back home in San Diego and some foods taste like my moms. But, the reason I gave them two stars is… Well the customer service. There is a young girl who is amazing and very bubbly but the rest are meh. They also talk so much shit in Spanish. My fiancé is white, so maybe they think I don’t speak Spanish? I don’t know, but I look Mexican and can speak the language and there for understand what they are saying. Every time I eat in, my taste buds leave satisfied but I leave heated! I prefer to go through the drive thru because I can’t hear what their saying. BUT they take so long! It’s so much faster to park and ask for it to go. Lastly, prices are just wow! Not very good. A carne asada burrito is so much cheaper than a HAM, EGG, and CHEESE burrito! I payed around $ 9 for my breakfast burrito when I pay around $ 6 for a carne asada burrito, which is made with more expensive products. To me that’s just beyond ridiculous! Definitely will be cutting down my visits, I am over hearing them talk shit and paying so much money for something I can get else where and would taste the same(breakfast burrito).

The location is rather unusual but it does not affect the fact that they serve good food. The salsa is one of the best Mexican salsa I have had. Their fries with carnitas — even the half order is huge and it is very tasty. Highly recommended! Don’t let the location turn you away. It’s actually quite convenient because you can get beer, soda, chip, lottery ticket, GAS! all in one stop and there’s a lot of parking.

The carne asada fries here are my favorite! But… Its hit or miss! Sometimes the fries are hard and stale like they been sitting there for hours and thrown in the fryer to be refried. Or put in a microwave. So i recommend you tell them you want FRESHFRIES!!! Its so disappointing when your mouth is fixed for fries but the fries are hard as sticks!

Their carne asada fries are off the hook! I would give a more detailed review of their other items if I could just get myself to order something other than their Carne asada fries… which I cant. For now. this will have to do.

I’ve been here a few times because of the great average reviews on Unilocal but find myself disappointed every time. they literally don’t add any special flavor to their ingredients. today i had the egg and bacon breakfast burrito. the way they cooked up the eggs and the quality of bacon is actually good. but that is it. they literally just cooked up those two, wrap it up in a tortilla and hand it to you. no spices or salt or any kind of extra flavor to the eggs or bacon. anybody can make it at home and pay less for the same thing. so it is as if the extra $$ is for the salsa, not worth at all. same thing for their carne asada fries. the main ingredient, carne asada meat, is very boring. which is insane because of how easy it is to learn to make some decent carne asada. anybody can just watch some youtube videos and learn to make it flavorful. it is funny how the rest of the ingredients cover that up which probably resulted to all these good reviews. will update the review if they improve.

Went here after I saw decent reviews. I ordered the nachos with chicken and took 15 minutes. Hardly any chicken, mostly chips and were stale. It was not worth the price. I asked for a refund and rudely put the money on the counter. Terrible service and food. One time is enough for me.

The food is good, but the customer service is horrible! Will never go back! I work near by and called ahead to have my food ready for lunch which is only 30mins. Long story short when I walk in to get my food the two guys working are eating I haven’t even started cooking my food. They had 20mins.

Yummy! This place really surprised me! Initially, I was a little put off, due to the restaurant being inside the gas station. However, I’m glad my friend encouraged me to try it! The Carne asada fries were delicious and put together in a very artist yet organized fashion. Each fry had all the ingredients on it! Not skippy at all! It was noticeable that the cook took time and effort to hand craft each order. The cashier & cook were super friendly! I will definitely try this place again and recommend it to others!

So tucked away in the Shell station is pure awesomeness. Like #drolling. Haha. I have had quite a few things from here always amazing. The super chicken burrito is delicious has so much shredded chicken, and all the fixens seriously can’t go wrong here. Prose: Delicious Quick Fresh Cheap Free salsa bar Big portions Shell station sells drinks and goodies Cons: Sometimes the parking is crowed. But who cares the food is great.

After moving to Sacramento from Fresno, one of the things I missed most was Caren asada fries… Although I’ve tried a few places none were as good as Fresno… Until I tried Rafas!

Let me start by saying I am ½ Mexican. This place has awesome food and is a bargain compared to several other Natomas taquerias I have tried out. Nevermind that its in a gas station, some of the best authentic food is from a hole in the wall, so I figured we’d give it a shot. So glad we did! Take out for a family of 3 for less than 25 bucks & we were stuffed! My husband had the asada super burrito, it was gigantic. I had two crispy shredded chicken tacos & our kid had a huge chicken quesadilla. Everything was really good. The search for our neighborhood taqueria is over!

Ohhhh yes. I love me some Rafas for their breakfast burritos. But the steak fries? Even better if it’s not breakfast. This little gem at the Shell station is fantastic, don’t miss out.

The fact that Rafa’s is located in a Shell gas station only adds to the ambiance. If it was located anywhere else in its own brick and mortar there would be a line out the door. Their carne asada is second to none in Sacramento. Chandos is good, but compared to Rafa’s, Chandos plays second fiddle. I’d like to try Rafa’s other meats besides the carnitas and asada but every time I go I can’t logically come up with a good reason why. Their asada and carnitas both taste amazing and reminds me of the meat at El Farolitos in SF. The magic sauce they marinade their meat is spot on. Don’t be scared about it being in a gas station, the fumes just add to the flavor.

Mexican food at a Shell Station… what? You would think pretty suspect, huh? I had to give it a try… besides, would fellow Unilocalers let me down? Hidden gem… sure, it felt weird to be waiting in the Shell Gas station convenience store for my food, but I have to admit that when I got it and sat down(I had to take it to go, it felt too weird to sit a table in a convenience store), the food was legit! Good Mexican food served up in a TJ setting… what more could you ask for? I had a monster chicken burrito the size of my head, and it was frickin’ delicious. I will definitely be back… whether I need gas or not, Rafa’s is the spot to hit up when you have true Mexican food craving.

I can only review for the breakfast burritos– they are awesome! First of all, they’re massive. I’m not sure if I could eat that much for breakfast if I tried. They also load it up with meat, so you definitely get your fill. I had the bacon and egg burrito, which I would recommend. The breakfast burritos are around $ 4 – 5. It’s in kind of a «divey» location, but the service and quality seemed fine. Definitely make the stop for the breakfast burritos!
