Been coming here with family for as long as I can remember. It’s a hole in the wall that doesn’t get all that busy(at least from what I’ve seen). The portions are HUGE– I’m talkin, fill a whole to-go box to its brim and barely look like you put a dent in your plate. Great prices too! The have lunch & dinner combos that are very filling, and if you eat in, come with a little serving of soup. The lady at the front is very kind as well. Only con would be cleanliness. Bathroom is kinda dirty, but it’s like dusty type dirty.

Palace… the structure is not!!! but, the food is fit for a King. It’s pretty tasty if you can overlook the ambiance and that it sits on on Stockton Blvd near Kmart. Order it to go and ENJOY!!!

Dude!!! Drive through Chinese that doesn’t suck!!! Yes please! We ordered cheese wontons, veggie chow mein and veggie fried rice, as well as egg rolls. Everything tastes how Chinese food should. Straightforward and delicious. I was wary to try them out and I regret not driving through earlier. It was fast and affordable too.

NEVERDINEHERE… THEHEALTHDEPARTMENTSHOULDLOOKINTOTHEIRCLEANINGPROCESSFOR A CHILDTHATVOMITEDONTHEFLOORWHILEWEWEREEATING. KEEPREADING! I used to love coming to this place before I moved to the bay area. I came back for the first time since I’ve been back on June 1 and ordered some eggrolls and potstickers from the drive-through window. I have been craving them. The same rude lady that always gives me trouble was there taking my order. She never has a greeting, nor smile or anything. For some reason this lady does not like me. I always order extra sides of sauce and it drives her crazy. But the keyword is «order». I never asked for anything free, and everything that I order I agreed to pay for. If she is not able to sell me an additional side of potsticker sauce, then she should just say so. Anyway, it took to long to get my food through the drive-through and it was pretty warm outside. So I parked my car and went in. Ironically my food was already ready and packaged up. I guess she was making me wait just because she doesn’t like me. I also bought a drink at that time and she kind of threw it at me after she verified my fiancé gave her the right amount of money. I told her we would go ahead and sit down since we had dipping sauces. As we are sitting there, the table behind us has a child who starts to vomit and instead of the mother picking him up and taking him to the bathroom she lets him vomit all over the floor. Who does that? I was already irritated with the parent for allowing the child to just stand there and vomit and not taking him to the bathroom, but the vomit sat there for a while until I got up and went to the counter and asked if we can have a towel to cover it up until somebody can come and clean it up. The lady yelled at me saying something and pointing to the bathroom. My response was I am not cleaning it up it’s your job, but I don’t want to see it while I am eating. So then one of the workers comes and sweeps it up with a broom into a dustpan and throws it away. At that point I grabbed my food and we walked out. The health department should make sure that they know how to properly clean up vomit not only in a public area, but one that serves food! I I am sure that they don’t care that their garbage can and broom with dustpan is now contaminated. That is what they use to clean up the lobby area in general I’m sure. I doubt they cleaned any of those items properly with the correct levels of sanitation in the red bucket. Gross!!!

Very disappointed in the place. We used to love their food. It’s a dive looking restaurant in the middle of the south area, but it has always had great food at very good prices. Large portions if you eat in as compared to taking a to go box. But the last time we went there(about two months ago) we got crap. Tasteless food. Smaller portions, higher prices. Not worth going back at all. Their restrooms cannot accommodate a handicapped person with a walker or a wheelchair. Impossible to get into the restroom. Total non compliant with any ADA laws. Filthy restaurant on top of all of the other things I mentioned. something happened to this place over the years. And not for the better.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. It may look a little rough but the food is amazing. And that is what really matters right. Everything I have ever eaten here has been great. Plus they are ridiculously fast. When I place an order it is never more than 10 – 15 min. I highly recommend China Palace to everyone.

There are times when you cannot make something more influential, like the Mona Lisa. There are times when you cannot eat something more inspiring, like French Laundry. When you’ve come to a point where you think you can no longer create or consume anything better than you’ve already experienced, «they» say to look within. And look within is what I’ve been doing lately, re-visiting my childhood eating haunts in the hood’ I tried so hard to separate myself from. China Palace is one of those joints where nostalgia can take over any other emotion and cloud your judgment, forcing me to give them a good review. However, I don’t have to force myself, because they deserve a good review. This is a dive-y, dingy, joint where I lost a tooth, had my communion and confirmation dinner and spent many Saturday afternoons with my mom and nana, after my mom got my school clothes off lay-a-way at the Kmart in the same parking lot as China Palace. I’m just as guilty as others are for liking mediocre Chinese-American food, anytime and any place. Sober and trashed. China Palace’s perfectly crunchy deep fried battered golden nuggets of mystery meat(I think it’s pork and chicken) covered in florescent red sweet and sour goop. Their overly breaded and greasy deep fried shrimp(which is more batter than shrimp) dipped in homemade spicy mustard. Although, their chowmein is total poo. I’ve never liked their chowmein, it’s hardly any noodles, it’s got a weird bland sauce and it’s mostly celery and bean sprouts. No bueno. The one thing that keeps me coming here, wonton soup. It could cure leprosy. Whenever I’m sick with the flu, or homesickness, I always head here for their wonton soup. A rich chicken broth(please add some soy sauce to yours) with lovely bits of BBQ pork, pink shrimp, bok choy, and meat filled wontons. Lots of wontons. It tastes of the earth, salty, sweet and of my childhood. A hefty portion that could be consumed in two sittings and for under $ 6…$ 7 at most. It even has a drive thru! Get it while the gettin’ is good, folks.
