Wow! It has been years since we were in the area to be able to enjoy a Mr. Pickles sandwich. It was so delicious! Got the classic Mr. Pickle on marbled Rye with everything and I tell you… that is a sandwich!

Dutch crunch bread is the best! I always manage to catch this location as they’re closing and they’re pretty cool about throwing a sandwich together for me last minute. Also the cookie with the sandwich is a nice plus.

I want to like this place. I just am annoyed that I place my order, am asked repeatedly what I want on it, then it’s made wrong. Today I ordered a number 13. I asked for no lettuce, it’s crammed full. It states it supposed to come with avocado. I get home, no avocado. The last time I was here was last fall with my friend. Same thing. Asked repeatedly for our orders then they were wrong. I guess that’s my fault for not checking my order today after last time. I’m done going here hoping they’ll get it right. The guy in front of me was having his sandwich remade because they messed up. I’m just confused why this is happening because aren’t they putting the items on right as they are asking you what you want?

Had a #12 kickin’ chicken. And I’m a fan. Wish we had one near the office I would def be here a few times a week for a quick lunch. Great service — everyone’s nice and friendly. Melo spot it didn’t blow me away that’s why it’s not a 5 star but it is def solid & if you want a good quick bit def stop by.

I love Mr. Pickle’s. This location has very friendly staff! I love coming here to eat or to pick up a sandwich. The Dutch crunch bread is my favorite! I’ll order the turkey, cream cheese, and avocado sandwich. Yes, cream cheese. You have to try it!

Stopped by real quick to grab a sandwich on my way to visit someone in the nearby hospital. Was greeted immediately when I walked in by an employee name Christian. He is the one that also made my delicious sandwich. I am a huge Pastrami fan so I ordered the Manhattan and he made it with lots of love. It was so good that I will be back. He also rang me up when my order was completed and was just so polite. Manners go a long way these days!

Really, this review is more like 4 ½ stars; would be perfect 5 stars if they had more vegetables for sandwiches, and a better soda fountain. First, the sandwich makers are really friendly. I expected the usual bored and uninterested food service workers, but instead, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, they were engaged and ready to make me a sandwich. I ordered the chicken salad with swiss and avocado on marble rye. It was amazing! Creamy, flavorful, no unnecessary ingredients. I hoped to add sprouts to my sandwich, but they don’t stock that. The boyfriend got the Wipeout — a messy stack of pastrami with avocado and barbeque sauce. I got a tiny bite. Incredible flavor and texture. The blonde girl got a BLAT, toasted and creamy with avocado slices. Their soda fountain is quite limited, so I opted for a bottled iced tea. Their fridge is well stocked with so much not-run-of-the-mill beverages, making the sofa fountain rather unnecessary. The blond woman behind the counter, also friendly, competent, and engaged, rounded out the trio of employees. I am really looking forward to returning! I’ve got my eye on that Wipeout… And the take home tubs of chicken salad in their fridge.

My first time to Mr. Pickle’s and I was so thoroughly impressed! I was instantly greeted and had three sandwiches to order which can often be cumbersome trying to explain — mayo on this sandwich, no mayo on this sandwich etc. They handled my order with total sophistication and a smile! I even told the manager I was so impressed with the customer service. Great recommendations(I had no idea what to get — everything looked good!), speedy service, everything was correct and I was out the door. Thank you! I will be back!

Best Reuben in Sacramento! SITREP I’m surprised that I had never popped into Mr. Pickle’s before, but after I picked up my mail at Fort Sutter Post Office, and then thought I’d cruise to Trader Joes on Folsom Blvd, I caught site of that Smiling Pickle and decided to stop in. THESETUP This is a smart little sandwich shop right at where Folsom Blvd and N Street merge together, so it’s easy to find. When you see the Mr. Pickle sandwich board out front, and of course the large signage, you know you’ve arrived! PARKINGCAVEAT The downside of this neighborhood is that it is parking restricted — from this stretch of N Street all the way back to Alhambra where the Starbucks is located on that corner. And I’m not even talking about 2 hour zone or even 15 minute zone. The brass tacks are that if you aren’t actually a resident with applicable parking tags, it’s an immediate towing zone offense, one of the most restrictive in the city, so be dam careful of where you park if on N Street, FYI. LEMENU Once inside the shop, it is a friendly airy space with high ceilings, with 2 – 3 staff who quickly take your order. I seem to have a «sandwich-metric» by which I measure all sandwich shops by: no matter what city I go to, when at a shop I’ve never been to before, I’m always game to try either their Pastrami or their Reuben sandwich. REUBEN In this instance, I pulled the trigger on Mr. Pickle’s Reuben sandwich and boy it was served hot, stuff full of the good stuff and it was dam delicious, all for $ 7.95. FREECOOKIE! Mr. Pickle also let’s you leave with a little treat in the form of a FREECOOKIE! *W00T!* I grabbed the Chocolate Chip as soon as I saw it, though I think there are 2 – 3 other varieties as well. THELOWDOWN For cost, convenience and taste, Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop is a great stop to grab a good sandwich.

A co-worker and I stop by here every other week for lunch. Can’t really reconcile the negative reviews with our experience. Staff are always friendly, the sandwiches are always on point and it is never too crowded as long as you arrive before noon.

Locally Owned Business run by a friendly family… I love this place they really care about their customers. When they ask you how you are doing they really mean it. The quality is tops and they take pride in making the best sandwich in town.

Dear Mr. Pickles, Your ingredients look nice, and your staff seems friendly. Your prices aren’t great but they’re not pants-shittingly high. The menu items look interesting, and as a Californian, I appreciate that half the sandwiches come with avocado. However, once bread is hard enough that it can effectively be used to hammer nails into hardwood, it should no longer be used as food. Sorry it didn’t work out between us. So Long, Ryan

Oh gosh, I really like the sandwich I had here. I got the dutch crust(Recommended!) with turkey breast, jack cheese with everything(in terms of topping) including extra garlic sauce.(YUMMY!) I can honestly say, the sandwich tasted nothing less than heaven in my mouth. Even better, it came with a cookie! The cookie was moist and delicious. The parking can be a bit of a hassle since you have to street park along the residential area but the staff was very friendly.

Came in the other day and got a club sandwich, there was a different name for it but in general it was a club… Sooo good, I was recovering from a hangover and needed something that this sandwich provided! The girls took their time making the sandwich FAT and were super nice to talk to… we chopped it up while the sandwich was being made and when I got home and ate I was completely satisfied. I like to spend money where the employees are cool and the product is good… go check it out!

Never again. I keep thinking I like Mr. Pickles but I can’t even remember the last time I got a decent sandwich from here. The service is super slow, the sandwiches are pricy, and they apparently only have stale, hard rolls that make eating your sandwich impossible. You are better off going to Safeway’s deli down the street.

Usually I love Mr. Pickle’s, but I was very disappointed. A friend of mine had warned me that the Mr. Pickle’s in Midtown is infinitely better than the one on Folsom, but my boyfriend was, like, «This one’s closer, let’s just try it.» So, we did. I will say that two benefits to this location are that there is a lot of seating and free parking around the block. But for three reasons, my experience at the Mr. Pickle’s on Folsom was truly«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» First, my sandwich was barely toasted, my cheese was barely melted, and my meat was barely warm. Second, the sandwich contained about half the amount of each ingredient every other Mr. Pickle’s uses. Third, the girls working acted as if they had never made a sandwich before. They were slow, sloppy, and disorganized — despite one girl telling the other how to work«faster.» Ultimately, if you are looking for a Mr. Pickle’s, you should just drive into Midtown.

Love the drink. It’s called a Merlino’s freeze and this place is like the only place that makes it, other than at Raleys fields. We got strawberry and mango, it’s to die for. Especially in the recent summer heat. The freeze even contains fruit pieces. Give it a try!

I really love the fresh made bread here! My favorite is the Dutch Crunch. It’s kind of pricey for a regular sandwich, otherwise I’d probably eat there more often. The special sauce(I believe it’s garlic?) that they douse on most of the sandwiches is downright awesome! I usually get the L’Michele… I like to believe that it’s good for you because it’s got chicken and cranberry(sauce) in it — But who am I kidding? With all the cheese and sauce… It’s worth the calories! The restaurant is pretty plain… Mostly just a spot for a quick bite. A lot of Sac State students frequent the place… Reminds me of my undergrad days!
