The food is good, but I wouldn’t go back. I waited over 15 minutes for a wrap. The food menus are hidden in a bucket on the counter, so the specials board was the only really visible menu. Too bad it was out of date, the items listed weren’t in the system and the kitchen had to be reminded how to make it. Skip this place if you’re in a hurry!

I come here much too often, but working in downtown and a block down from this place the convenience is too hard to not take advantage of. First, I hope this place remains low-key so I can enjoy the peaceful quietness and lovely ambiance of this establishment, but at the same time I hope they take off and continue serving the downtown Sacramento area for years to come. The owner is wonderful, truly. He knows his customers, he’s friendly to newcomers, and overall just a fantastic guy. All the workers give off a very hippie San Franciscan vibe with their chill attitudes and friendly demeanor’s. The food and drinks are wonderful to me. They make great baked goods and the wait time is never too long. I’ve tried the BLT, grilled cheese, Savannah Delite, breakfast panini and a few of their drinks.(Over the time span of months, I promise I don’t eat out that much). But really to me a 5 star establishment has the perfect balance of yummy food and great customer service. I don’t need 5 star food, but I want 5 star customer service and this place does not skip out on that. If you’re in the area come by and try a smoothie or get lucky and get a fresh baked cookie!

We were staying at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento, and were looking for an alternative to the $ 21 breakfast buffet at that place. I would not have even remembered how to spell Tantric, and only knew the spelling after checking my visa statement. Tantric is located on 1215 K street in downtown Sacramento, just around the corner from the Hyatt Regency on one side, and the Sheraton on the other side. It’s open weekdays 7am-4pm, and weekends 9am-4pm, serving breakfast and lunch. The place seems to specialize in coffee drinks, but they have breakfast burritos also at $ 4.95 a pop, for an 8″ long burrito, with a mixture of cheddar/monterey jack cheese, egg, and a choice of ham, bacon or sausage meat. The order is made on the spot for, and takes 5 – 10 minutes for the burrito to be made, with salsa and sour cream on the side. It’s Memorial Day weekend, and the place seems deserted, with a nearby restaurant recently closed. Our dish comes newly made, with the flour tortilla piping hot. I cut it in half, and spread the salsa on the egg mixed with sausage. A very good deal for $ 5, and made with fresh ingredients. We will be back, the next time we are in downtown Sacramento, although I remember last Memorial day weekend, this restaurant was closed all weekend, and we had to eat at the Subways a block away on J street for breakfast. There is also a breakfast place on L street two blocks east on L street next to Ma Jong’s, called something like Breakfast 150L.

A co-worker and I went to Tantric for the first time today, even though we just work around the corner. We both had the savannah delight(chicken, pesto, cheese) on whole wheat flat bread and shared a mango/peach smoothie. All of it was very tasty. All the baked goods looked excellent. I really want to try a Peruvian empanada. We’ll be back to try some other items!

If you want good coffee, go elsewhere. I got a regular latte here and the only thing I could taste was boiled milk. They did have some interesting looking pastries, but I didn’t have any. My take is that most people cut them slack because they are A Mom and Pop store. So if that is important to you, you may want to check them out.

Super fresh and delicious sandwich. I got the karma club and it had avocado. Turkey. Bacon. And was warm… Yummy! I like that it is a healthy option in an area of upscale hotel restaurants… Cheers for that. Service is a bit slow but nothing that can’t be expected from a small coffee. sandwich shop. Seriously the best southwestern salad I have ever had. Deliciously spicy dressing. Avocado. Bits of pepperjack cheese. Dang!!! So delicious. I’d go back!

I went there for lunch while I was at the convention center across the street. I waited almost 15 minutes for my sandwich. It was pretty good though! The staff was super friendly. I probably would go back if I was ever in Sac again. I’d love to try some of the desserts they had and some of their drinks. It was a really cute place with the paintings and décor.

The staff is super friendly, it’s nice to visit a local coffee place where the baristas are welcoming and upbeat. The menu is what you would expect from a small local place, basic breakfast food like bagels, muffins, smoothies, etc. plenty of healthy options too like oatmeal, vegan energy bars, fresh fruit and eggs. The staff worked with a girl in front of me to make a good gluten free and soy free breakfast for her. The atmosphere isn’t amazing, just a simple little place, but not hole in the wall at all. That’s the only reason they lost one star, with all the amazing coffee shops I’ve been too and the classy and artsy design, this one falls slightly short of places like intelligentsia. Still, it’s a great little place, would totally recommend it over the Starbucks across the street!

The folks here at the TUB were so helpful and cheerful. We dropped in for a quick bagel and coffee and will visit again next time we are in the area. We enjoyed the service and the value is right on! Coffee is good too.

The coffee is portland roasting company and the owner is peruvian so this means a higher standard of what coffee should taste like. Breakfast is served all day. Most popular sandwich is the karma club(turkey bacon avocado provalone on wheat). Most popular salad is the southwest loaded with black beans, avocado, pepperjack, tortilla strips and chipotle ranch and top it off with chicken for and extra $ 2. Or make it a wrap at no extra charge. Brandon is the smoothie king and kathleen(yup me) is the tastebud tantelizer. Also dont forget about dessert, bars, cookies and peruvian pastries are all delish!

The older gentleman who owns this place is very friendly and kind. Dropping in for a bite to eat, I noticed there was a touch of Peruvian food/drinks, which indeed I found very exciting! I would definitely come back just to have the friendly customer service =)

Was attending a conference across the street and just did not want to throw my $$ away at Starbucks, so we went to Tantric. Was going to get a muffin w/my coffee, but my eyes were drawn to some empanadas. The gentleman behind the counter saw me eyeing them and proclaimed«once you go Peruvian, you’ll never go back!» Well how could I say no to that?! So he quickly explained that he had either beef, chicken or spinach; I chose the chicken. «Just a moment, I’ll have it ready for you Peruvian style and bring it to your table.» So shortly afterward, I see the lovely empanada dusted w/powdered sugar w/two packets of lemon juice. «Cut off the corners and put all of the lemon juice inside.» Huh? Powdered sugar on a savory empanada, now lemon juice. I followed instructions, but had trouble inserting the lemon juice through the corner of the empanada, so I made an incision across the entire empanada and let the lemon juice flow. It was truly delicious! I guess I do have to have my empanadas Peruvian style now! Oh, and the coffee was great too:)

So my review is based on the food alone, I did not try the coffee. I did not have very big expectations coming to this place but thought I would give it a try. And honestly I will not be back. I ordered a Popeye’s Salad which consisted of spinach, walnuts, blue cheese, strawberries and I added grilled chicken for $ 2.50. Totaling $ 10.45. I posted a picture and it looks pretty tasty but the problem is there was old and wilted spinach hidden under good pieces of spinach. And no it is not because there was grilled chicken causing it to wilt because the chicken was luke warm, clearly not grilled and still had some grisle. The walnuts were not toasted or even chopped up. Overall the Over priced salad, as easy as a spinach salad is, was a Bust! I agree with other Unilocalers, this is NOT a Bistro! Bistro serve fresh ingredients, sorry this was not fresh. Nope, not returning!

Didn’t care for the for the tamale, but I think it was not heated up thoroughly, because it was sandy in texture. What is good: 1) Bear Claw 2) Carrot cake 3) Jalapeño bagel with cream cheese 4) Service(good service makes food taste better IMHO) Haven’t tried the empanada which according to other reviews is suppose to be good.

This Bistro is great and the location is super convenient! After attending an event at the convention center, I walked over during the Highest rush of the day: Lunch time! Although the line was out the door, The staff moved extremely fast and didn’t mess up the orders! I ordered a chicken wrap and it was delish. They have a variety of desserts and beverages. I also ordered a chai latte… YUM! I wanted to go back in for a re-fill but I refrained…(didn’t want to look like Miss Piggie) And the customer service was great. The staff checked up on us to make sure everything was up to par. I definitely will be returning :)

I had my first peruvian empanada ever here, and my taste buds went crazy! One of the ingredients inside the empanada was olives, and I HATE olives… but it tasted crazy good in it! Man… I could’ve eaten 10 more empanadas. I scarfed down that thing so fast… sigh. the barista working here was a sweet girl. She was definitely patient and knowledgeable and helped me pick which tea to get. Btw, all tea sizes cost the same price, which is nice — so get a large. The best part was she made it extra hot! It was so hot that she offered an extra cup and a sleeve. So thoughtful! It was perfect, because it stayed hot until the last sip. Aah =)

One sexy place. I went in for lunch, and had the Oriental Salad + chicken. Can I tell you, it was delicious! It was $ 10.50, included a separate container for the hot chicken, and came with dressing on the side. The entire café was decked out for Halloween, which was really cute.
