We weren’t sure what to expect based on the mixed reviews. As it turns out though we had an enjoyable lunch. We came in around 1:15 for lunch. It is a small place with some tables and a small sushi bar. There were a few customers and we were told to sit anywhere. The lady who took our orders was nice and checked on us often to make sure everything was okay. I had a bento box with tonkatsu and tempura. The tonkatsu was tender and presented with the sauce already on it. The tempura was just okay. My dining companion had a bento box with teriyaki chicken and CA rolls. She said the chicken was tender and the sauce flavorful. We also had the calamari appetizer which was light, crispy and quite tasty. With good service and just a short wait for our food, i really have nothing bad to say. There were some sushi rolls on the menu that we plan to go back and try.

Loved it! I went here based on a Unilocal review and was not disappointed! Everything was so good! About right for a sushi place as far as price goes. Service was great and the food was so yummy! I had the 911 roll and the spider roll both were off the charts great!(I was also starving) The other 2 people in my party ate bento boxes and they were BIG and everything was tasty Check out the pictures

First time here. I was very impressed with the quality of their happy hour rolls… In my experience. The tempura shrimp rarely stays warm and crunchy in the center of the roll… It was here. The hamachi and tuna was fresh on top, shrimp in the center and rice around the roll was moist and thin… We order the 911, Bradshaw and rancho roll… All of which will be ordered again in the near future. Update: since i am studying next door at starbucks, i decided to order the Lucky roll here for a quick bite… OMG: the Lucky Roll was amazing! Shrimp tempura was warm crunchy and fresh! I again requested less rice and they without fail, impressed me! I even like the rolls here better than any other rolls i’ve had in sac(i have been to many other places in town) I am a regular customer now!

I swung by here around 2:00 for lunch(which ends at 2:30) and ordered the spicy chicken bento box with tempura for $ 9.30. I gave three stars for the quick 5 minute service, but the food was disappointing. The tempura included an onion ring, a fried piece of bell pepper, a fried carrot, a fried piece of squash(I believe), and a single piece of shrimp. The spicy chicken was tasty, but consisted of four small pieces of meat and 70% spicy slaw. I substituted extra rice for salad and luckily that filled me up.

Service is great. There was no wait time when I went for an early lunch. As for the food, the sushi I ordered tasted average… the food is not worth the price. I didn’t even want to finish the 2 rolls I purchased and brought it home for dinner. Maybe I just expected better because of other reviews. :/

Small portions for the price. Salmon skin hand roll tasted bad. I should have gone someplace else lol but I was hungry.

This place still pricey for us and it doesn’t taste good at all ! Fried calamari was ok with sauce! I like how they make their fried soft shell crab not oily! Fried vegetables We also had 49, 911 and chancy rolls. Spicy tuna and spicy scallop Temaki hand rolls were ok but I won’t want to come back here!!!

Please don’t go here!!! I want them to remain hidden and not get crowded. The all day /everyday HH menu is the bomb. $ 2.95 drafts, $ 3.50 chicken teriyaki, $ 8.00 rolls. It’s very small, husband & wife business, the service is quick and place is clean.

A very relaxing place to eat after a long day. My wife and I found the sushi bar by chance when we were shopping at the store next door. We thought the sushi was great. My wife and I lived in Hawaii for several years and really miss the fresh fish. Their fish is very fresh and they have great friendly service.

This is a nice place to come if you enjoy a cozy, not overly noisy atmosphere. The scallop shooters here are awesome! They give you a double shot and big chunks of scallops instead of most places I’ve been to only give you two tinny pieces in a thimble.

Checkin’ out some sushi joints in my neighborhood. It was a little hard to find this restaurant since they don’t have sign in front. It’s actually around the corning from Starbucks. It’s a little on the small side, so get cozy. The service was good and the food was average. As far as their bentos go, it wasn’t small but it wasn’t big. I think the food here can satisfy my sushi cravings, but no wow factor.

Pretty disappointing. The only positives were the excellent sesame chicken and the happy hour prices. The chicken teriyaki appetizer was burnt. The tempura shrimp in the sushi rolls was piping hot, which warmed the fish and led to an odd texture and an off-putting taste. The lone server was having trouble keeping up with the 3 – 4 occupied tables and we had to ask for basically everything: napkins, chopsticks, straws, plates, soy sauce bowls, etc. And she gave my 2 year old his water in a pint glass, which could have been a disaster. I doubt we’ll return.

I love this place. Great food and service as well. The lady who works at the counter is super nice and the chef is nice as well. I just don’t like that it’s small and crammy but it’s a great place to eat sushi and go out too :)

Tried this place based on Unilocal reviews. We were in the area to attend there singing Xmas tree at Capital Christian center and needed to have a quick dinner. This place is tucked in a corner next to Starbucks and Food Source… It’s kinda hard to see. Food: We ordered off the happy hour menu and were not disappointed! The BBQ tuna was good. Not amazing but good. The Pepperfin was AMAZING! The fish melted in my mouth and had great sauce and spicy jalapeños. We had 4 rolls. All good but the tuna delight stood out for me. Service: our server was good. Attentive, quick and friendly. If I’m ever in the area I would stop here again. Happy hour all day everyday… Great prices!

First time here. I am from other side of town but we were going to Singing Christmas Tree at Capital Christian. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. We started with BBQ Albacore and Pepperfin. The Pepperfin was buttery and melted in your mouth. Fan freaking tastic. We ordered 4 other rolls off the menu. All were good. Pleasantly surprised and not sure if we will get opportunity to go back but anyone reading this review that is considering will not be dissappointed. If I were in the area, I would go back. Small place not good for large groups but the Sushi Chef is quick and you can tell knows his stuff. Oh yeah… $ 2.25 pints Good stuff…

Woohoo! Finally, a sushi spot within the vicinity! Ordered togo for my lunch break and luckily, shared with a coworker so I was able to try 3 different items! The 2 of us split an order of their pepperfin, garlic sea steak and their Raiders Roll. Disclaimer: not a Raiders fan, just a Raiders ROLL fan! ;) The pepperfin bathed in a citrus-y sauce that was a bit too citrus-y for me. However, the fish was fresh and there was ample thinly cut slices of jalapeño so I enjoyed this dish. The garlic sea steak was also enjoyable because it was fresh seared tuna on a bed of GARLICGUAC! Or at least I think it was? I love guac but have never had it with seared tuna before so this was an interesting new mix that I very much enjoyed! Finally, the Raiders Roll was a win for me because it was filled with everything I love: lobster, spicy tuna, albacore, avocado, spicy mayo and black caviar! My coworker doesn’t like caviar so I had to the luxury of doubling up on my pieces =) Portions are great for the price; these 3 items set us back $ 40. I’m guilty of often compromising my sushi by going to buffets or half off venues but I think Tsukiji’s prices reflect the quality and portions of their food so I will definitely be back next time I’m working in the area!
