I have driven by this burger place many times on my way home, and finally decided to stop on Saturday night to get a burger. I took the burgers and fries to-go and ate at home. The fries tasted like they were reheated in the microwave. I didn’t eat more than two of them. The burger was decent at best. I won’t be coming back.

Bob’s Burgers is pretty damn good! the half and half burger is a delicious suprise of supreme meaty flavor. the fries aren’t really good but the cheap beer and great burgers make up for it. and it’s usually pretty empty here so, the food comes out fast. if u don’t want to wait soo damn long and pay way to much for food, don’t go to Chris Madrids, come to BIGBOBS!

Good burgers! Not the greatest I have ever had but if your looking for something good to eat in the area don’t be afraid to try it.

Wanted to look for a new burger place to try on our way through town. Unilocal brought us here. Burgers rate a 4 according to my husband. Smoky flavor and crisp bacon Fries were fresh and good. Onion rings with crunchy tempura batter melted at bite. Onions were soft and stayed in the batter. I am not a big burger fan and wasn’t too hungry, so I ordered the chili pie. Stale Fritos and dry chili overseasoned with chili powder. Fresh sweet tea. Lovely waitress who was very attentive. In older area of town but very clean. Clean restrooms. We’d go again.

The burgers here are a little over a decent size and taste amazing! I, personally, think their fries aren’t the best, but the are okay. I’ve been here a couple of times and each time have enjoyed the food quite a bit. This place is definitely worth checking out! The only down side is that you do have to order everything separately.

This place has crazy good burgers! They have a charcoal-like grilled taste, and they’re hot and fresh! The fries are not my favorite, but that’s just a personal liking– the burger though– it took it all the way! I totally recommend this place!

The onion rings were amazing! The batter was light and crisp, and the onion slices were perfectly thick to fill the batter! That and the craft beer selection gets the 2 stars. 1-The floor was sticky! Every step almost pulled me out of my flip flops. I’m not even kidding! 2– The chili cheese fries were GROSS! I took one bite and my wife took 2 just to be sure. That chili is horrible! We put it aside and threw it out. 3– the patty melt was on rye(which is how it should be!). Beyond that, the burgers were not that flavorful. I really really wanted to like this place but … I don’t. I will not be back. 4-by the time I got home I was feeling a bit nauseous. I ended up taking several alka seltzers by bedtime last night. Sooooooooo NOBUENO!!!

A solid burger spot! When we walked in we must have seemed a little confused. The girl at the front noticed and asked if we have ever been there before. She explained their burgers, pricing, and how it all works. We ordered two burgers and chili cheese tots. We really enjoyed our burgers and chili cheese tots, although my husband wasn’t a fan of the chili. He said it tasted like Texas Pete chili in a can. I thought it was reasonably good and I would order it again. Overall, we would return if we were on that side of town but would not make a special trip.

When I first saw the place my hopes decided to fly high with the Angels but my expectation was a dirty spoon that was dirty for all the wrong reasons… I am so glad I didn’t turn right out of the parking lot and head over to Whataburger. Say what you want about the W but I love it. The W is like your go to pair of jeans. Always there, fell right and look good. Bob’s Big Burger’s 50⁄50 maybe be that new pair of jeans that you tried on and said«hmmm»… I’m not going explains the details of the flavor and luscious texture… No, just go and try it… Just do it, don’t fight it… Order the 50⁄50 and put to your lips and feel the Angels at work… The staff: super nice and helpful The place: surprisingly clean(for s hole in the wall) The food: well, like I said. Just do it! Here the Angels sing…

I guess Big Bob is spending most of his time at his 1604 location. I think he needs to spend a little time on Hildebrand. When this was the only location, it was pretty good. The fries needed some work, but over time they did improve. The burgers were always good. Today, I had a cheeseburger with cheddar, no pickles or mayo. The bottom bun looked like it had been pressed really hard while being grilled and made super thin. It had also been grilled too long, showing char marks. Not very appetizing. The fries too, have regressed to containing many really small pieces like potato remnants. Jim’s is about a block away.

And now for something completely different. Tried the 50⁄50 burger — that’s half bacon and half hamburger. While it was unique, probably not something I’d get again. Other regular burgers were well cooked and sizable. Does tend to get crowded so get there early.

Well to be honest we found this place on Unilocal because the other place around the corner was closed on Sunday. I am VERY thankful for this minor inconvenience. We drove in from Kyle, Tx. I have found a new place in Big Bob’s when I’m in S.A. Bob himself came out to speak even though he was very busy with his other location. He seen that we didn’t order the onion rings and insisted for us to try them on the house. He’s right they were AWESOME! The wife and I ordered the 50⁄50 burger which was soooo good and juicy. Man I loved that burger. Toasted bun with a thick patty. The wait staff were nice even when we walked in right at opening. No bad attitude. Matter of fact they were very inviting. A few minutes later Bob showed up. Yes we will go back! Can’t wait.

I ordered the veggie burger since I was feeling vegetarian today. The patty was a bit too mushy for my taste but well-seasoned. I had a side of onion rings that were more like onion bracelets and to die foooor: perfectly seasoned batter, crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. Service was quick, straightforward, and friendly! I’ll update this when I try a meat burger. P. S. Also worth noting is their awesome décor. They have an industrial vibe going and use a lot of reclaimed wood.

Excellent burgers but with the competition, Red Robin, cheddars, chilies, five guys and Chris Madrid around the corner and armadillos a few blocks away, I can’t justify paying $ 23 for two double cheeseburgers two fries and two drinks. Sure the double cheeseburger is $ 7 alone but add the combo and that’s $ 3 more. The buns are grilled on a flat top and the burnt edges are a throw back to yesteryear. The fries are similar to five guys. So. Here we have a great burger place that just slightly prices itself a little higher than what it needs to. For $ 10 you can get an equally better burger and endless fries At red robin. Hell across the street you can get the same sandwich at whataburger for $ 5 Oh and some reviewer called this area rough or ghetto. Come on this place is not in a rough area.

Burgers — I’ve had the avocado burger twice and both times were delicious. My burger was murdered with avocado… it was falling off every bite. They definitely were not stingy with their avocado. :) my boyfriend has tried almost all their burgers and he has not been disappointed. The onion rings are great! Service– we are definitely regulars here and every single time we go we’ve had terrible service. The girls/staff tend to be very rude and always texting. However the owner is completely polite and professional.

Has nobody ever heard of longhorn café? Home of the big juicy? I’ve been passing big bobs burgers time and again when I visit my dealer, and after many years I finally took my wife and has a regular cheeseburger and fires and onion rings. I was BORED with all of it. The only thing I enjoyed is the Louisianne tea. I don’t think they like customers as we have had a better reception at the DMV. After dinner we passed a jack in the crack and my wife and I both said simultaneously«that would have been better»

Heard this place was good, but it wasn’t anything special. Your average burger, but it was char broiled. The cashier was friendly and she was the one that brought out the food. The onion rings were thin and way to much batter. We ordered the mushrooms and it came with yucky ranch, no gravy.

Average at best but in a good way, it is a burger place and they do for fill that. The burgers are good, the patties are char broiled that gives a good flavor to the burger. The fries are hand cut and crispy and crunchy, what you want out of fries. Big Bob’s Burgers is better than any and all fast-food chain. Burgers 7⁄10. Fries 8⁄10.

I’m always trying to find cool burger spots in San Antonio because my Dad is crazy about them and I read great reviews about Big Bob’s Burgers but we left unsatisfied. I felt our bacon cheeseburger was just like every other burger we’ve had, nothing special there. The fries and tots were just that and my hot dog was just OK. Their sweet tea is great! The service was wonderful and the owner even came to check to see if everything was alright, which was very sweet. I’ll return to try their 50⁄50 and update!

50÷50÷50: 50% beef, 50% Bacon, 50% brisket. Yeah. They came up with frankenstein of a burger during meat week. My first thoughts was, «What the hell?» Since this creation was specifically made for meat week, there was no question; on paper, it sounded very good and I wanted to find out for myself. All the flavors in that thing worked together like a nice orchestra of flavor in your mouth. When you think you have beef, here comes the bacon then the brisket, then the mustard and mayo and lettuce and tomato. Task about a flavor crescendo!!! And that was just the first bite! I liked it so much, I went back a few weeks later and took my son to try it! He had the 50÷50÷50 and I had the grilled bacon sandwich. He loved it too and mine was damn good too. Both locations are great, with a good selection if craft beer. Bob himself is a truly stand up guy-I got a change to meet him and talk to him fire a bit. So far, one of the joints with the best burgers in town.
