Cant go wrong with this Sports Bar with its Screen that runs the ENTIRE length of the restaurant/Bar and multiple LARGE screen TVs scattered through out the place and even in some booths… THIS is the place to watch your favorite team in action… ALL the food on the menu is GREAT and reasonably priced

Great sports bar with excellent bar food. Menu changes often and the quality of the food and service is always consistent. Great Resort!

First and foremost the service is amazing. Not only was the food good and the atmosphere great — our server Luke was awesome! Made my husbands birthday great! Many thanks!

A bit on the high end, but then look at the location. Beer is overpriced and could be colder. The chicken nachos on the other hand are what gave them the third star.

The bar was great with a wide selection of local beers and excellent bar food. In spite of the gigantic screens, it feels more like an executive airport lounge than a sports bar.

What a way to watch«American Pharoah» winning the Triple Crown! The vibe was electrifying! Didn’t find their beer prices to be unreasonable! Their Buffalo wings were delicious! As for their wedge salad, it wasn’t cold and crispy enough! Was totally satisfied with the service — never rushing us on a Saturday night! WBB!!!

Our waiter was waiting on way too many people. Not very attentive but he was busy. I get it. He messed up on my mine and my boyfriends order. Food is very mediocre and definitely overpriced. 2 stars for hummus.

Food was really good. Had chips, queso and salsa to start. Wife had the fish tacos w a salad and loved it. I had the buffalo chicken salad and it was great. The ranch and basalmic dressings were really good. Service is slow. Takes them forever to return with check

High Velocity sports bar is a sports fans dream! The meandering projection shows a constant stream of all the sports games on TV. I love their lively vibe and energy during a good game. The drink prices are on the steep side but are good. Each of the three bars at this hotel has their own food, beer, wine and cocktail menus. While this a full bar I would stick to the wine and beer selection at this location. During our stay we ordered quesadillas and a hummus plate. Both dishes were great and were generous portions. The bartenders are super friendly and attentive.

Super nice location with an amazing time square type board with numerous games being played on it. Everything on the menu was excellent.

Stopped in for something quick to eat before heading to the airport. When you check in at the hostess stand they asked which game you wanted to watch(this was an NFL Sunday). We didn’t care, so they sat us somewhere. We were able to see at least three to four TVs which was nice. Beer list was good and the nachos were surprisingly good. We didn’t stay for too long, but a great place to catch a game. It was hard to see the huge 120 ft. screen in the daytime and it is also hard due to viewing distance. Still a fun environment.

Decent selection of local draft beers, bad overpriced food. My Burger tasted like the inside of a freezer.

For a resort of this caliber, the food they serve at High Velocity is down right nasty. It’s not often that I say, «I’d wish we would have gone to Hooters for food», after a nice round of golf… but after eating the chicken less wings and cold nachos, this was exactly the case. JW Marriott might wanna find a chef on premises and bring the sports bar fare up somewhat to the level of the rest of the restaurants on their grounds. Good vibe, baaad food.

120ft screens? Check. Full bar with some of the best«tenders in town? Check. Damn good apps and food? Check. Reasonable service? *buzzer* Timely seating? *buzzer* Ease of in and out? *buzzer* We went on a Spurs game night/Saturday. There were four couples, with about an 8:15pm check in for a table. By 10:20pm, we had watched at least 5 groups get seated before us(not sure what the reserve situation is?) and observed at least two of the very large viewing booths being«held» by ONE person each. Six conversations with the hostess staff finally scored us a table in the very back with our own small screen, and a «somewhat» view of the spectacularness of large screens. I really hate to ding a place based solely on service — but this is supposed to be an upscale environment, and I have to set expectations accordingly. If this was my local bar, I would expect the lack in consideration and treatment. These guys should go back and have a hot wash each weekend on how well they did with their patrons. Okay, upside stuff? The chicken nachos are a MUST! I don’t know what they did to that chicken, but I was making some slurpy, moany, throaty noises that were«When Harry Met Sally» reminiscent. Also, BBQ. They have a buffet on the weekend nights(not sure about weekdays) that’s a great deal, and allows you to try it all. THEN there is the bartender, Michael, who made me the most amazing Texas Tea I’ve ever had. It’s not on the menu, so ask for it. There are some other lovely concoctions that tempted me, but I was afraid were too sweet. TIP: If you’re local, valet and tell them — you get up to 3 hours for $ 10. Parking is a biznatch, but if you do park far, start walking and look for a golf cart — they are out there picking up and dropping off.

Great place to watch a game! Tons of TVS, and if you get the right seat, you have your own personal TV. The HUGE screen along the wall is pretty cool… except when it’s light out, it’s hard to see. Their prices are steeper than other sports bars, but the quality is worth it.

I would go here during football season because they have the NFL ticket and TV’s everywhere. Bartenders are nice. I hope they get the MLB package and I’ll be back for sure. Decent prices too

I was hoping to find a new sports bar to hang out at. We decided to stop in here after checking out the Holiday lights and decorations at the JW. We were seated at a booth, and had great views of the Spurs game on the projection screens. The service issues started when we the booth we were at was not fully ready and cleaned. Once drinks and appetizers came, we had to go to another table to get some silverware for ourselves. We also waited to get some small plates so we could share the appetizers. Our drinks also ran dry. It appeared they only had one server for over half of the floor on a Saturday night with no help. The food was good. We had the Philly cheese steak and burgers, and everyone though food was good. I don’t mind paying higher prices for a place like this at the JW since food was good, but they should step up and make service a priority if they are going to charge the higher prices. I know the folks at JW have always taken much better care of us when staying at the resort. Had service been up to standards would have given them 4 stars. FYI — There were also lots of kids running around in the bar, so be aware if you are looking for an actual adult bar to hang out at. Probably just the nature of being in a resort hotel.

WOW! I can’t say enough about the projection screens — TOTALLY awesome! The service is really good and the food is great. the only reason I am keeping them at 4 stars is because of the prices.

I can frankly not remember being in such an opulent sports bar screaming at the TV for a good hour and a half willing on my boys in blue to victory. I was staying at the resort and we ventured into the bar after we checked in for a Bloody Mary. We were greeted by a prompt and smiling Liz. She was very attentive and fun to hang with. We ordered the Calamari which was some of the best we have had. And the Mary’s were on point and spicy, she asked how spicy we wanted to have them made. The next day I wandered in while the wifey went for her spa day. I settled down and had a couple of beers with Suzi. Suzi was as awesome as Liz. Very friendly, attentive, funny and very personable. She provided me with great service and the manager on duty was equally interested in my well being. He noticed my Chelsea shirt and we talked about footie and all things première league related. He is a Liverpool fan and I had mentioned that the wife and I were going to head back to Austin to catch the Chelsea game at 10am. He said he would be happy to open up at 10am and put the game on for us if we stayed. Mr. Cunningham was indeed the icing on the cake as far as we are concerned with High Velocity. We got there early this morning and was greeted by a smiling Suzi welcoming us back and we were able to watch the entire game at our leisure. They were setting up for the Superbowl today, which looked like they would be packed for. There are TV’s all over the place and the massive ribbon HDTV as well and a projection wall made up of 1640inch plasma’s. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves in San Antonio! Absolutely one of the best sports bars I have ever had the pleasure to watch Chelsea in…
