Hot Shot Billiards

We went here after seeing a movie at the Alamo. It’s a very large pool hall that also has a few dart boards and a basketball game. There are two bars of which on a Friday night one bar wasn’t even opened when we went in. We ended up waiting a very long time for service. We got ignored by the bartender several times while «prettier» women or men came up beside us. We finally got to order when a nice guy told the bartender we were there first and to get our orders.
They had a lovely DJ that was playing Hispanic and Tejano music that I didn’t understand but still LOVED. [Sorry if my adjectives are wrong, I’m not from around here. :-P] They have a small dance floor where some people were dancing too.
Personally, I probably wouldn’t go here again unless I was specifically going to shoot pool because the service was so bad and I have no intention of waiting 20 – 30 minutes for a beer and being ignored.

This place smells like (what I assume) dirty jock socks would smell like… Eeewww!
Not to mention the bartender was quite rude. She obviously saw me and another friend standing at the side of the bar (in FRONT of a rubber spill mat, AKA the bar service area) money in hand, anxious to order. Rather than asking what she could get started for us and directing us to the front of the bar (which was occupied by stationary idiotic people blocking up everything) she decided to condescendingly ask us «do you want to place an order?» to which we replied YES! And what did she have to say in response? «Well you have to move over HERE then.»
That’s the point where we ignored her and decided to go to Legends, right on the opposite side of the shopping strip. There’s waayy too many bars and «sports bar» around for customer service to not be on-​point.
It was only by chance that we were dragged to Hot Shots anyway, and you better believe we will not be coming back any time… ever!

Cheap beers, big TV, free pool on Sundays. Me and my love go there and leave feeling pretty good for about 10 dollars (for both of us!!!). Some days they have live bands, they have darts, some basketball games, a ton of tables, a juke box and a big bar selection.
