Had a pretty good time. Liked the mix of music. Not my choice of décor but had a pretty relaxed environment. The hookah was nice. We played dominos and some of the pieces were missing. All in all an ok time but I probably won’t go back. The highlight of the place was our server Tiffany who was sweet and helpful.

Very nice hookah lounge it’s super chill and the hookah we smoked on special was really good. The prices are amazing for the amount that you get. There isn’t really anything here to entertain yourself with but many people brought board games, books, etc to occupy themselves or play with friends while smoking. The staff is super laid back and friendly they Coke back checking on your coals often and you never have to get up to grab someone because they are constantly asking if the hookah taste ok and how are you doing. This lounge is NOT in a newer area of San Antonio but I prefer it over others because anything new in San Antonio is often super packed and I find it hard to enjoy myself. I am from a really large city and have lived in Europe so I personally don’t find this area«shady» or whatever but I guess when you have seen much bigger cities with people living in homeless tent villages on the streets your view of shady or ghetto changes. Old doesn’t equal dirty or ghetto it just means a place has character.

Pretty cool place. It’s BYOB, with a very cheap fee, plus you get a discount on hookah refills. We tried the passion fruit flavor, which was awesome.

Honestly didn’t really like this hookah lounge that much. I’m a very experienced hookah smoker and this place was kind of dank. I thought it was dirty inside and the service was poor. Outside the surrounding area was pretty shady and I made sure to lock my car doors. Overpriced hookah is never nice but especially when the flavor is weak as hell. I will definitely not be returning.

They had a live rock band. I don’t mind rock but this time it was screamo and it was LOUD! TOOLOUD!

At first impression, The Raven is a strange place, seemingly lost in its own unique world. And upon further investigation, that is exactly what it is — an eclectic, quirky, and entirely chill place to grab some hookah and relax. The atmosphere is great and the interior has a awesome vibe; the dark walls and red lights really lend to the feel. The Raven sees everyone come through the doors, from metal heads to laid-back hipsters. There is also local artwork for sale on the walls at times which is always great to see(especially paintings of Biggie and Kanye West). The music selection, while to many may be a bit off putting, is always great. It ranges from heavy metal and softer rock, to some indie hits and often some older pop. It’s a strange mix at times that really depends on the night you go in. Also, the staff is always friendly and helpful, always coming over to make sure everything is going well. On top of the relaxed atmosphere the hookah itself is fantastic. There are tons of options and some great brands to choose from; there is certainly something for everyone. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the hookah and with a group, it often comes out pretty cheap. My only complaint is that some of their tables are a bit unsteady, and for my group of entirely ungraceful friends, this has resulted in some nervous moments. Overall a wonderful lounge that has a unique atmosphere and great hookah, I highly recommend checking it out.

Piss poor service. First time here and was not impressed at all. Asked for bubbles and never received them. Not to mention no one ever came to check on our table. We had to Flag the guy down just to change our coals. Mind you they came to every table by ours but walked on by like nothing. Never coming back.

A rad, laidback hipster loungue that has all types of people walking through those doors. The black walls, red lights, and lamps are all a good fit and would make this place one of my favorite spots to chill at with some friends if I were a local. We tumbled on a night that hosted some local stand-up comedy which was pretty fun! The hookah was really good here. Smoking here reminded me a bit of the hydro herbal shisha I use to smoke except with tobacco. Whatever they do, they prep it right here and my smoking experience was different in a pleasant way. My only complaint with this place is the metal music that was playing on breaks during the show. I am the complete opposite of a metal nut and would of preferred some indie or rock. :]

First visit was awesome. Wasn’t filled with high school kiddos like sultans has been overwhelmed with. No hate to sultans but this place was like a breath of fresh air. Was surprised to find this place in SA. Hookah & prices are just right. Two stars because my second visit was horrible. We showed up at opening and stayed for about two hours. I guess the employees on the clock decided it would be SOAWESOME to play heavy metal for an hour straight. Once they decided to have a mellow moment… my friends and I had a sigh of relief when they played modest mouse… well little did we know we were in for it again. The same three songs played twice and from the same modest mouse album. We didnt leave within the first hour due to the fact that our first visit was so great and wanted to «give it a chance/maybe the music will stop». But honestly it was such a relief to pay and get the hell out of there. Also… my table(about 4 people) were the ONLY customers there for about 40min. Maybe ask us if we have any requests? Hate to sound picky but the music thing just left a bad impression on my friends and I.

Its like any other hooka bar, it was priced pretty descent and the atmosphere is chill. the thing I enjoyed when I went was the fact that I got to watch the tech school kids be blatantly drunk and talk about their MTL’s. Go me for the nostalgia. Other than that it’s a cool spot right next to the alamodrafthouse so after a movie if you’re up for it then smoke on, enjoy some good conversation and chill a while.

Great atmosphere, I love the dark walls and the red lights. The music is always on point whenever I go. And when they aren’t playing music… guess what… SOMEONE is playing music, that’s right, OPENMICNIGHTS, they happen. I know you’re saying to yourself, «But they can’t just play music and have open mic nights all the time!» Well, you’re RIGHT, my skeptical friend, for those days, they have events. Example: I’d never seen the show, «Workaholics» before, and I popped in for a lil hookah action a little while ago, and ROFL’d the night away, as they were playing this show in a hilarious marathon. It was like my living room… if it were full of cool, hipstery, geeky-chic, hippie, preppy, bookish, eccentric, über friendly strangers. Not only that, but they’ve got places to leave your business cards if you have one(Free promo, great place to find local businesses to give money to). Oh, AND you can totally write on the walls of the bathroom, they leave you chalk to do it… Seriously, they won’t send you to time out or nothin’. POINTBLANK, MUH-FUGGAH: –Great Music –Special Events Weekly –Happy Hour –Great Brands(You don’t smoke Starbuzz? Get you some o’ that Social Smoke, FOO!) –Friendly, Attentive Staff –Cool, San Antonio Vibe(Asian, White, Latino, Middle Eastern, Black, Cossack, Samoan, EVERYONE fits in at The Raven!) –Reasonably Priced –Management is Open to Patron Suggestions
