Sweet Secrets Cake Shop

I’m a fan of cupcakes, I eat them all the time always wanting to try new bakeries. When I went here I thought the place look sketchy there was no display or pictures of the product. Finally someone greeted me and seem bothered by me asking qustions. I finally ordered about half a dozen cupcakes, which I regreted after. I basically could have bake the cupcakes myself and honestly would have look prettier. Nothing special about these cupcakes. There are not awful there just average something you can make yourself, the cupcakes themselves are moist but the icings need alot of work.

I live out of town but my mom lives in San Antonio. I couldn’t make it for her birthday so I wanted to get her a cake. Ms. Yvette, a very sweet lady and I believe the owner, took my order and said she could deliver it. My mom was so delighted as she said the cake was really moist. She also loved the homemade butter cream. The rest of my family concurred that it was one of the best cakes they’ve ever eaten. Thank you Yvette for crafting such a pleasing cake for my mom on her 72^nd birthday.

Love this shop! The cupcakes are always moist, and just the right amount of sweet. This is my GO TO bakery. Yvette and Devon are always warm, welcoming, and super helpful. If you need any cakes or have a need to satisfy that sweet tooth, definitely give this place a shot.

I waited till the last minute to think about getting cupcakes for my husband’s birthday dinner at the end of January and I really didn’t want to just go buy them from HEB, so I Googled to see what was available local and found Sweet Secrets. I then checked reviews and saw that people said they were really good and their butter cream icing wasn’t really sweet… this was a big plus for me since I’m not a big fan of butter cream. So, I checked out their site and found they had lots of different flavors of cupcakes. So, I thought I’d call and see if they could accommodate me. Sure enough — they said NO PROBLEM! Mind you, I called on a Thursday afternoon and I wanted 36 cupcakes (2 of each flavor they offered) ready for pick up Saturday afternoon. They were pleasant and able to accomplish my last minute request without any problems!
When we tried them Saturday night they were really yummy! Everyone that tried them said they tasted great. I had the piña colada flavored one and thought it was just the right amount of sweetness to the icing. My daughter had the tres leches and said it was amazing!

Ordered some cupcakes for a birthday and had them delivered SAME DAY! Fantastic service! Person said that the cupcakes were delicious to boot! I don’t live in San Antonio but if I ever need a sweet delivered to someone I will definitely use them again!

Delicious cupcakes and so many yummy flavors to choose from. I called in my order at nine and by ten they had it ready. Now that’s great customer service.

This place is odd looking on the outside and inside, looks more of a catering place but you can order single cupcakes too.
They are all delicious and make you wish you had ordered your own full cake instead. I would definitely order my cakes here purely for the genuine scratch baked flavor.

I’ve heard great things about the shop but was disappointed. The customer service was excellent: I ordered a dozen cupcakes over the phone, and they were waiting for me when I arrived. But, having looked at them and tasted them, I believe the cupcakes and the frostings are all from a mix. The strawberry cupcake was an unnatural pink color, and the strawberry shortcake cupcakes seemed to be topped with Cool Whip. Kids would be happy with them, I think, but not worth the calories for anyone over seven.

I can’t wait to have the cake, I’m very excited about seeing what they do. My cake lady cancled very last minute I called all over town got tons of no’s and horrible customer service. But this place blew me away they worked with what I needed and made suggestions and helped me get a great end result This will always be my first choice! Devon is AWESOME!!!

Amazing cake and amazing customer service.
I called to inquire if they had a Tres Leches cake available, ready to go. Yvette informed me could have one ready to go within 30 minutes. And she did. She was amazingly friendly and the cake was superb!

I haven’t tried their cakes or cookies, but this is a review for their CUPCAKES. I ordered a german chocolate and strawberry shortcake and they were both dry. Not to mention there was some weird liquid at the bottom of the strawberry shortcake that made it kind of inedible. The shop itself is very small, and there were no baked goods on display so I really had no idea what I was ordering. The guy that took my order was nice, and I like how they frost and prep the cupcakes when you order them, but I would highly suggest going elsewhere if you want a good cupcake.

Extremely helpful customer service; delicious desert! I did not pre-​order a cake, yet the bakers were able to help me customize a large cake to serve over 20 people. Fair prices, great product, and very speedy and attentive customer service. Thanks.

Word of advice… go in and try it trust me their cupcakes/​cakes are awesome and for the price you pay is even more sweeter! Yvette treats you like your family she is so vibrant and always full of life which makes take the icing on the cake you don’t find that everywhere! You won’t go wrong here! Love love their cakes! You have to try the Italian Cream my fav!

I have been buying cakes/​cookies from Yvette for over 11 years and the desserts and customer service NEVER disappoint! Thank you Yvette and everyone working at the cake shop for doing such a fantastic job!

I love this place. The frosting is fluffy and soft! Every other cupcake place I’ve been to in SA has cupcakes that have been refrigerated or down right nasty. I would recommend this place to anyone! Try the black velvet and the Italian cream!

Thank you Yvette and Devon!!! I have two daughters with birthdays 24 hours apart and on a short notice they put together the best cakes! They were yummy, moist and beautiful! Exactly what you want in a cake! We are originally from NY and know good cakes! Since living here, we hadn’t found a good quality cake shop… Until now! Sweet Secrets is the best cake shop San Antonio has to offer!!!

Don’t judge a book by its cover ! This shop may not look like much but the cakes it makes are something special !

One of the best little secrets that I have no intention on keeping to myself. Yvette is friendly and all about making the consumer happy. The pricing on the cupcakes are pretty normal, but the pricing on the cakes are phenomenal. I have come in and ordered in person, and also ordered cakes over the phone without ever being disappointed. The buttercream icing is delicious and fluffy, while the cake is always moist and truly decadent. Definitely worth driving a little out of my way from where I live to get a great experience. I highly recommend anyone to stop by, even for just one cupcake.

Amazing!
Yvette is the BOSS. She quoted me a much lower price for the precious gender reveal cake she baked. I wanted a beehive for my sister, and she completely understood the vision and informed me from the get go– «I don’t do fondant». Which I LOVE! I get cakes so they taste good. Yvette is serious about cakes and she’s very down to business. She even gave me tips on how to save money. LOVE HER STYLE!
Not only was the cake precious, but people kept RAVING about the taste. She puts sugar crack in her icing because it tastes more like traditional, old school cakes my grandma used to make. People finished the ENTIRE CAKE and wanted more– in fact, my family is still raving about the cake. You can see the picture of it posted.
I plan on getting ALL of my cakes from Yvette and funneling her lots of business.
