Quirky and cool burger joint near the Pearl. We’ve never gone in until tonight, and we will definitely be back. Cheap beer, quick service, and a relaxed atmosphere make this a great weeknight find. The food was really good too!

This was the dinner destination choice of my 19 year old when I suggested he pick our restaurant for the evening. The Shypoke Eggs were different. My husband insisted we try them. They reminded me of something I would make when raiding the fridge for a snack. Not special but comforting, nonetheless. I had a large tasty burger. It was pretty standard fare. Drinks in cans. Hubby said his place was on his SA bucket list. I consider it checked off.

If you’re a lover of good, cheap draft beer and the BEST burger in town, look no further. These guys take care of you well and serve up amazing food. I’m nearly a regular! Thanks for the good food and great service.

The best burgers I’ve ever had! If you are in town you can’t leave without coming to Timbos. Definitely best burgers in town and probably Texas :)

I ate my food before I remembered to take a picture. We started with the shy poke eggs and everyone thought they were good. I had the fishwich with tater tots and they were both really good. The fish was nice and crispy and they serve the tartar sauce on the side so it stays that way. The only negative, and it’s a minor negative, was that the tea seemed a little off. This was not my first time nor was it my last time eating here.

Our server, Andre, was hilarious and awesome and the burgers were insanely delicious. My husband and I both got the yellow submarine(I got the mini with«light jalapenos») and they were so good. So good! It’s highly rated for a reason and I’m glad we dropped in.

We came in a bit late. The waiter didn’t care and he was amazing. The food was on point. Best burger I’ve had in a very long time. I’d recommend Timbos to everyone I know!

In the beginning there was sadness… I am a Cali native and I had spent almost a decade wishing and wanting Little Hipps. Thanks Travel Channel for not updating your shows. So Let’s skip to last night. My Love and I had our Thursday Date Night and I was jonesing for a Burger. Nothing greasy or drowning in that weird velveeta cheese that seems to be a staple all over Texas. I wanted fresh and über yummy. My man is the best. He brought me to Timbo’s. At first I was like okay this is fun. It wasn’t too crowded and the dining area was clean and festively decorated. I liked that we got to seat ourselves. Each booth had a juke box which is always great and the décor just makes you feel happy. Not pompous or too sterile. So imagine my surprise when I started to read the menu and I realized that this restaurant… Was in fact the reincarnation of Little Hipps. This.Made.My.Night/Week/Month. We ordered the Shypoke Eggs(fantastic and cheesy) and Tots(crispy and practically perfect). The main event was the Yellow Submarine(Friggin’ Derrliscious!) and the Timbo’s Jumbo w/Cheese. The Jumbo was so good and cooked perfectly. I think next time though we will ask for jalapeños and Extra Cheese. In a perfect world it would come with bacon and avocado too. Everything was perfect. The service was excellent. And I look forward to my next dinner at Timbo’s.

Quick service and a nice atmosphere. I ordered the cheese burger and fries. The burger was nothing to write home about, it was a thin patty which was not very juicy. The bun however was great! This is a great place to stop in and get some lunch if you don’t want to do the«fast food» thing and I would imagine this would be a great spot to have a few beers but I’ve had better tasting burgers.

Why do people in San Antonio get all excited about mediocre food. When I think I’ve visited the last crappy spot, here comes another. No wonder so many restaurants go out of business. Walking in at 7 pm on a Friday night and seeing many empty tables made me want to turn away and leave. There was one waiter handling all the tables so this must be normal. Menu was ok but prices of burgers were high ranging from $ 6.50 to $ 12 a la cart. Seating was ok but not very comfortable. Beer signs and license plates on the wall… how original… only 1 beer available on tap-miller lite. Meh meh meh. Ok it’s a burger joint so maybe it will be ok. The fries came out first and they were thin and crisp and hot. Not homemade but decent tasting. So then came the main event a double burger with cheese and a mini yellow submarine. They both had a nice appearance and so it’s time to eat. First shortcoming was a generic bun. When I pay $ 10 for a burger I want something better or different. Next the onions lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. That’s good. Now to take a bite. The double was large and the mini yellow was smaller than expected filled with cheap processed cheese. The meat or the lack of meat was the issue. The meat was in fact filled with fillers, probably bread crumbs. So for ten bucks I got cheap meat and cheese. No seasoning just a bland piece of maybe meat. The waiter was busy and did come by to fill the water and leave a check. He never asked us about our meal nor came to get paid. We left the money on the table and said goodbye to another substandard restaurant. RIP

Great as always. Fast and fresh burger today. I decided to go with the bacon burger and tots and it did not disappoint. Great location for lunch and able to get in and out with co workers. Definitely a staple for any burger lover in SA.

This place is the best burger spot in San Antonio. I don’t think there is a better burger anywhere around here. Their service isn’t all that friendly but in some way it adds to the charm of this place. I can’t even understand why it does, but it does.

I think the restaurant was nice! The hamburgers(well I only tried cheeseburger) was very tasty, and a good size too. The price is fair, and the service of the waitress was nice too. And the place it’s a little bit odd but cool.

Love the burgers, but way to pricey!!! The atmosphere was nostalgic and the service was good! The owner is the same owner of the old Little Hips I was told. $ 34 for 2 people is high. We had the stuffed burger, a bacon cheese burger, tx tooth picks which is fried onions and fried jalapeño pieces and 2 teas. The burgers were awesome tho!!!

Had always heard this place had some good burgers. Always wanted to check it out and glad I did. I had been counting sliders(not sheep) as I slept. Then one day, I had had burger on my mind: had been craving for a big, fat, juicy, greasy burger with some swine on top. That day after work, I satified that worse-than-cocaine craving. Now typically I don’t finish an entire burger but I was freaking famished and I wasn’t about to let this huge burger beat me. Well, looks like the burger won. Well, the fries and burger won. This place was able to satisfy my fix and made this a «return worthy» location.

Behold the glory of Little Hipps, having risen like a Phoenix like a new reincarnation of restaurant with the same former deliciousness. I had the Timbo Burger, a very decent burger, with an ample amount of toppings that seemed fresh. I really enjoyed the shylock eggs, an appetizer that is tortilla chips covered with jalapenos and two types of cheese to look like eggs. This place seems like it has some real history to it, with all the ‘flair’ tacked up on the walls. Things like old beer signs and license plates. But all that stuff really came from Little Hipps, I believe. There’s some mean competition for burgers around this side of town, and this place holds up in the competition. They’ve got better french fries than the place down the street, and lower prices too! The service was friendly and speedy, and the prices were quite fair. The place was clean, and had a cool vibe. They offer seating in booths or picnic tables, which makes it good for groups. Each of the booths has its own jukebox, which is really cool. Overall, I enjoy coming here, and will certainly be back!

One of the best beer and burger joints in San Antonio. Order«Shypoke Eggs»(similar to cheese nachos) as a starter to enjoy with an ice cold Shiner Bock«Gimmee Draw» in a frozen soda glass. The burgers are large enough to share unless you are really hungry. The medium tots or fries are also large enough for two people and the large order would feed four people. This place is the current generation of a line of local burger joints dating back to the 1960’s. My wife and I enjoyed Hipp’s Bubble Room and Little Hipps when we were dating, and Timbo’s has some memorabilia from these restaurants. We enjoy the quirkiness and nostalgia of the place.

First off that me just say! BRAVO! I love burgers. Burgers are my comfort food. I often try bacon cheeseburgers and end up taking the bacon off because it’s cooked into this hard plastic thing with bacon flavoring. BUT… Not Timbo’s their cooks are not afraid of bacon, and they know how to cook it. Their bacon was cooked to perfection with crisp edges and the fat of the bacon was still left with all of its chewy deliciousness. This bacon is not for the health conscious. It’s thick cut and the fat is left on. Truly a masterful work on an amazing piece of bacon. Ok now that my amazement has been expressed let me talk about the burger. I got a double bacon cheeseburger and you should know how I feel about the bacon. The burger itself was cook to medium, it had just a hint of pink but only towards the middle. The burger was incredibly juicy. What I thoroughly enjoyed was how the burger was seasoned. They definitely excelled in adding to and complimenting the wonderful flavor of the meat. So many places over season and the burger loses its natural flavor to the overwhelming flavors of additional seasoning. Not Timbo’s, the balance was a meaty flavored burger with complimenting seasoning. Once again, bravo! As with all burgers fries are a natural go to as a side but my wife and I ordered tater tots. Again the kitchen delivered with an outstanding talent for perfection in both the cooking and seasoning of the tots. The tots came crispy and hot with just a light sprinkling of salt. Just outstanding, most burger joints just don’t have this kind of talent in their kitchen. My hat is off to those who work behind the grill and fryer at Timbo’s. Now for the hard part, the complaints. This list is short. First I’m a soda drinker and I enjoy a Coke with my meal, beware Timbo’s is a «can establishment» when it comes to its soft drinks. Teas are good and the sweet tea, which my wife had, was good and came with refills. Next complaint, the furniture. The booths were hand made and lack proper angle for the back rests, leaving you sitting at an almost 90 degree sitting position, the good thing is they offer tables. Finally our server seemed a little out of it, but to his defense there was a table of three women nearby which is where his focus seemed to be. And that is Timbo’s, a great burger joint that lacks in some areas but greatly makes up for it with amazingly prepared food.

Pro: Cheap beer, Alamo/Shiner is only $ 2.5 draft Great tasty Cheeseburger, not too greasy either Tater tots are awesome! Our waitress is attentive Con: The parking is weird and the place is hard to find since there is no sign that faces Broadway, we had to made few u-turns I would highly suggest to have a sign outside to get some more business, especially it is only a block away form Sam’s burger
