All the stuff they offer you can make at home and not in that mom’s homemade cooking kind of way. To top it off, the food is over priced. With so many options in SD, I have to give this place a hard pass.

Warm beer, crappy service, in a dump of a restaurant. But hey, at least their cook knows how to cook a fry. Those were delicious. I never knew service could be so bad when there were only 3 people in the entire restaurant, but hey, thanks to the people who hate their job at this establishment for showing me that anything is possible. Avoid this place like herpes.

The service here was friendly as a group of 3 of us came here for dinner one night. I got the reuben sandwich at the suggestion of the server. The other 2 got burgers. I thought it was weird that we weren’t recommended any of the actual BBQ as the place seemed more geared towards it. Anyways, the reuben had good flavor and the sauerkraut wasn’t overpowering which can be a problem for me at times. The other said the burger was pretty solid so I’ll take their word on it.

This place has been around for ages and I’ve been coming for years. It’s not a fancy place by any means it’s clean and casual. A good place for a big group. The burgers r exceptional. I always get the cheeseburger w fries and I’m never disappointed. Juicy and very tasty. Service is friendly. It’s worth a trip if in the area

Heard of this place Fo-Eva but never went. Finally had the chance to check it out. It was good. Its a burger/café joint. The service was great, the food was quality and the atmosphere was fun and funky. Id would definitely go back.

A buddy and I decided to drop by the Boll Weevil on CMB for lunch after expending a ridiculous amount of ammunition at a nearby range. Good choice ! We generally hit Anny’s Fine Burgers, which frankly speaking, makes a better hamburger than Boll Weevil, but I was in the mood for a Chili Size. It helped that we were a lot closer to Boll Weevil, and besides, there was probably a line at Anny’s. This Boll Weevil is a big restaurant, and it was about ¼ occupied. So, no line. We were asked to seat ourselves, which was fine. My Chili Size(oddly priced at $ 9.29) was very good. The server asked how I wanted it cooked(medium rare) and my cheese selection(cheddar). After about 20 minutes our food was presented. I am very pleased to note that the burger patty was not only nice and big, but it was cooked perfectly. It had a very nice, fresh flavor, to boot. It was served on a lightly toasted sesame bun. The chili topping was very tasty, very ample, and had just the right amount of spicy heat for a lunchtime meal. A side container of chopped Bermuda onion was provided. Yep, there were two cheddar cheese triangles melted on top. Not«melting», since the temperature of this meal was only warm, when served. It must have been hot previously to melt the cheese slices. Certainly an improvement in product over my last visit to this restaurant. As always, the service was good. At least I think it was, since I’m not sure why my meal wasn’t served hot.

Food was okay the garlic cheese fries sucked don’t waste your money. After we finished our meals I finally got my drink. And the pool table was so far off balls rolled for no reason. And it cost over $ 40 definitely not worth it.

8÷20÷151:45pm Stopped by to have lunch with my wife. Restaurant was quiet, with only a couple of other diners. We were told to go ahead and sit where we wanted. Our drink order was taken about a minute after we sat down, and we were given our menus at that time. I advised the waiter of my coupon, and he let me know to give it to the cashier at the end. I ordered the 1/3lb bacon cheeseburger with fries, and my wife had the bacon avocado turkey sandwich. My burger was great. I ordered it medium well. The bacon was not too crispy, and it came with lettuce and 2 thick slices of tomato. Fries were plentiful, and were crispy. My wife said her sandwich was very good too. Lots of turkey and the bacon was very crisp(she asked for crispy bacon). The only thing she was disappointed with was that the avocado was a spread and not sliced

Burgers are just pretty good. I do like the condiment tray they bring to the table. The burgers are kind of greasy… hence the reason when you get down to the last ¼ of your burger, the bottom bun appears thin and soaked, like it’s wet. It’s still a decent tasting burger though. So are the fries. If you are in their neck of the woods, especially if you have a coupon, give it a whirl! The server was friendly. Restrooms were clean.

I went in to Boll Weevil again today and tried their ribs for the first time. The minute I picked one up I could tell it was microwaved. Rubbery, too hot, and overcooked. Given you sometimes see them smoking their meat when you drive by, I was stunned. Certain meats do not do well being reheated in the first place, but given how they market their great BBQ, the ribs were a total disappointment. I notified the manager but was less than impressed with his«meh» response.

If there were a way to give 2 ½ stars I would have. My family ordered the Colossal Burger, Parmesan fries & sampler appetizer platter. Where to begin! Let me start out with the good. The burger was amazing!!! The meat was cooked to perfection and the at table condiments were fresh. The fries were soggy, the chicken rom the sampler was hard because it was over cooked. The salsa tasted like beer and the mozzarella sticks were limp. The place was empty, the service subpar. Not a place I will visit often. Becky, No this wasn’t the first time. This was the second time since I work near there now and used to really enjoy eating there. I may try one more time, they say 3’s a charm!

My husband wanted a burger and we were actually on our way to Wendy’s but he saw this place and wanted to give it a try. He got a burger, fries, and chocolate shake. All of which was not good! I mean not even the shake. The burger tasted funny, and the fries were super plain.

I really like this place. 1st visit for the CalGuns meet up. The girls are sweeter then pie. Beer was cold but not on the edge of frozen. I had the sampler to eat. The spicey hot wings were not melt your face hot but had a little kick. The Zucchini stix were suprisingly good. The Mozzarella were standard, but mixed in with the zucchini stix which was a roulette game. The chicken strips where good with the bbq dipping sauce. My waitress(Bran? Server 11) was on point. Talk about service with a smile, once there was other people in there she would always talk to the kids. I know its a sports bar, but damn, great place.

I’m seeing quite an improvement in this restaurant. We’ve checked it out 2 times in the last 6 months and both were good experiences. This weekend we stopped in and split a bacon cheeseburger. Service by the woman with the(UK?) accent was super fast. Beers were ice cold and craft IPA’s are now on the menu. The burger was cooked to order — medium rare. The TV’s are new, bright, and great for sports viewing. We’ll be back. If I could change one thing I’d suggest a fond farewell to the condiment tray. Maybe a condiment bar?

Boll Weevils glory days are gone… The service from the gals was friendly. That’s about it… food was bland, I asked for medium burger and it was crispy. My fries were soggy but my kids fries were decent. The produce with the dishes were less then premium. The onions that are on the tray of side that was brought out smelled rotted. Definately a run down version of its old self. Needs major up grade to the containers and a good wiping down of all food trays and surface areas. Yes it’s a «sport bar» atmosphere but I do not want to be constantly look to make sure my food is edible the entire time I am there.

I went in 2÷6÷15 around 5pm on a Entertainment coupon book offer with a one complimentary Dinner Entrée of equal or lesser value included with the purchase of 2 beverages. I asked the waiter what is considered an entrée because I wanted burger and fries. He said anything but the appetizers; so I order 2 cheeseburgers and 2 curly fries along with the 2 drinks. 1) The curly fries are $ 3.59 for each order and this is the«special add on» price when purchasing a burger. The portion was literally small enough to grab them all with one hand. Expensive as is and I was expecting 2 small baskets of fries. 2) I would think the coupon indicates the entrée to discount one of the fries. They only discounted one $ 7.49 cheese burger, not the fries. Why aren’t the fries discounted especially when they’re serving it on the same plate as the burger! To a customer this is one entrée. This is also despite me asking the waiter if the burger and fries are an entrée before ordering. I guess I should’ve been more explicit but he gave me the understanding it was since they’re not appetizers. I didn’t complain and paid for 2 expensive fries. 3) At most establishments, when ordering on a coupon, they don’t tax the discounted portion. This place assessed the sales tax on the grand total pre discount. Their hand written receipts are pretty primitive. They literally just discounted $ 7.49 even. 4) I already knew I had to buy 2 drinks at $ 2.59 each on top of all this before going in and already somewhat negated a lot of the discount but once you consider the fries situations, this place totally bamboozled and deceived me. The quality of the burgers are literally the kind of frozen patties you can buy at the grocery store and only one notch up from cheap ground chuck. Boll Weevils were a thing of the 80’s and early 90’s, no wonder so many have closed down throughout the years. I wont be returning.

Came here for the Super Bowl Game with some buddies perfect place to catch a game there were plenty of Television Screens in every direction. Including the patio. This place has a nostalgic feel to it like that favorite 80’s place you parents used to take you to. Old school video games gum ball machines a jukebox neon light signs and airplane fixtures bring the atmosphere. The steer burger is what they are famous for and it’s a pretty tasty burger. I ordered the mushroom burger with Bacon it was spot on! The bacon was crisp the burger tender and flavorful they even have there own special sauce(thousand island’ish) but I chose good olé ketchup to the sauce. The perfect place for a group of friends to enjoy a reasonable and tasty burger. The staff was friendly and the delivery was fast and friendly! Definitely a thumbs up on this one.

I haven’t been to a Boll Weevil since I was a kid so my GF and I decided to check it out and see if it lived up to the hype. I had the three cheese burger and I really enjoyed it and so did my GF who got the super cheeseburger. A lot of the bad reviews here are about bad customer service and not the food but I had no complaints about our waitress. I’ll be coming back!
