I’m subscribed to their facebook page(aka Liked their facebook page) and oh my… I’m always getting those updates for their almost daily deals… MAN!!! bad idea and it’s so tempting whenever something is posted… I get really sad when I missed something I wanted to try, but they seem to cycle fairly quickly! :) Today I got to try their Chicken Stripes with fries for $ 4 + tax! I have to say I was pretty impressed with the size of the portion and the price that I paid! Happpy customer!!! Thanks :)

Not impressed. The chicken strips weren’t really strips(one was a patty sized) & it kinda grossed me out. The fries were definitely not crispy. It took about 10 – 15 for my take out order which was ok and the cashier was friendly. I might give it one more try and maybe try something other than the chicken strips but not anytime soon.

This place is awesome! Facebook deals Sunday-Thursday. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve bought from here. Big portions and fried zucchini is a meal all by itself for under 3 bucks!

The desire was met! The fried Oreos were truly delicious. They were cooked to order… They were soft and crisp in the same bite. Beautifully done. The funnel cake wasn’t as impressive. Each bite seemed to ooze with grease and they were a little skimpy on the powered sugar. The funnel cake brought the star rating from a five to a three.

I decided to come into this place after seeing their ads on Facebook DAILY. They must be spending a fortune on ads, because I wasn’t even following them and it still shows up on my page. Not that I mind it, honestly. They have daily $ 5-$ 8 specials advertised and it always looks so good. Needless to say, it ended up working on me haha. Another cool thing about this place is that they’re VERY aware of their internet presence, and made looking at their menu and pictures of food through Unilocal easy as can be. RESTAURANT: I didn’t know what to expect. Walking in, they have a cool glass display of kegs and distillery stuff. Nice! Their menu is displayed on big monitors on their wall with pictures alternating within the menu itself. It’s always good to have a visual. I came at around 8pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty full! It was also really clean, so good job on that! FOOD: I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak which looked really good on the menu! An order of Onion Rings And my friend ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich. The Philly Cheesesteak was cooked well, they didn’t skimp on the meat but there wasn’t as much cheese as I thought there’d be. Which made me sad because their white cheese was really good haha. Onion rings were decent portion, crispy and good sized. No complaints there. Pulled pork sandwich was also good! And came topped with two big onion rings as well. BBQ sauce on the sandwich was tasty but also didn’t have a lot on it, which isn’t a bad thing, in case someone who orders it DOESN’T want their sandwich drenched. They had a couple of bottles of BBQ sauce out on the floor, but not enough for all the people that were there. I had to snag one from a table before the people left, but after they were done eating their food haha. You can also ask for extra sauce behind the counter, they’ll give you a couple container cups worth of sauce too. CUSTOMERSERVICE: Service was good. Cashier was friendly, and so was the girl who brought our food out to us and asked if we needed anything else. No complaints there! Overall, it was a good visit, and I’ll most likely be back to try some of their other stuff. ‘You don’t get a second chance at a first impression’ and Chicken Charlie’s won’t need to :)

Sooo… I thought I’d give this place another chance. Came in with my boyfriend at 4:30. He ordered the special(tater tots with pulled pork, queso Blanco, chives and bacon) I got the naked shrimp and we ordered the deep fried oreos for dessert which the girl said she would bring out«delayed» so we’d have a chance to eat. I went to the counter at 5:15 for my oreos which I was informed would be brought out to me in just a moment. It’s now 5:57, 5 families have come in and been served and I still haven’t gotten my oreos. I even asked them to just box them to go since I have been waiting almost an hour for just dessert. Idk if I’ll be back again… each time I come the staff is consistently really bad.

I’ve been sleep on this place. It’s damn good and they give a solid amount of food. We went with… Me: Naked Shrimp Combo(Seared Shrimp in a pineapple bowl and buttered rice). So damn good. The wife got the chicken and ribs combo and it seriously was enough for two. Nice batch. And of course a funnel cake to go This is a spot that we will definitely be back to. 4 star for me. Easily.

I have driven by thus place a number of times and was put off by the name FryBQ chicken… Implied to me this was a bar-b-que chicken place. What i wanted is some place other than KFC for decent fried chicken — Found it! This is really good chicken. I was hungry ordered the four piece and could not eat it all… Next time its a smaller 2 piece. Price is right… Service spot on… I’ll be coming back for more

Very disappointing. I came in for their chilicheese dog special they mentioned on Facebook. I’m a sucker for chilicheese dogs so I figured this would be a great opportunity to try this place out. But, they fell short. Sure the service was ok and the line moved quick, but the food lacked. The portion of the hotdog was correct(12 inches) but there was literally maybe 1 tablespoon of chili on there. When you think chilicheese dog, you think it’s smothered or drowning in chili and cheese. It was hard to find the chili and sadly most of the tablespoon of chili got absorbed in the bun and I wasn’t even able to eat it with the hotdog. I took a couple bites that had a bit of chili on it and threw the rest away. They should have advertised«a hotdog with spoonful of chili» NOT a chilicheese dog. I would have been better off at weiner schnitzel.

They post daily specials on their Facebook page. Last Thursday’s special was fried chicken(or rotisserie/grilled) and french fries for $ 6 — great deal. The fries on the plate were the seasoned beer battered french fries and they were crispy and very good, got 2 plates, one of each chicken type and enjoyed it I have been here two times. First time I ordered a fried chicken strips and waffles and it was acceptable.

I have been dying to try this spot, and today was the perfect day to do it. I was not disappointed. Chicken Charlie’s made all my dreams come true… First things first, happy hour from 4 – 6, $ 3 beers. Can you really beat that? And this included the beers on tap. They have«belching beaver» which my husband is a huge fan of. PLUS. Customer service was also on «fleek». Cashier was super friendly and patient, and even helped me decide on sides for my chicken and shrimp combo. Bless her. She also brought our food in a timely manner, and offered«delayed dessert», so your fried oreos don’t get cold while you’re eating your chicken. HUGEPLUS(PS she never let me get out of my seat, thank you for that sweet lady, I didn’t want to stand up to walk to the counter to get my food) The menu: The possibilities are endless. I really just wasn’t sure what direction to take honestly. Do I get a delicious pineapple bowl with shrimp? Do I get fried chicken? Do I get fried chicken and a waffle? Don’t get me started on the desserts… My goodness, I needed someone to pinch me. All of this amazing fattening food all in one place? *sigh* It had to be love. Food: The fries were average, but aren’t fries pretty standard everywhere? My chicken was PIPING hot. Yes please. The skin was superb. The skin is the best part of fried chicken(I’m willing to fight over that opinion). One thing that stuck out to me was the ranch. So odd I know. But the ranch was just rich and creamy and didn’t taste like regular ranch to me. It was heavenly. Fried oreos w/ice-cream = bomb dot com. Overall: great atmosphere, awesome menu, cool staff, good prices. I’ll be back for you Charlie.

However, Chicken Charlie is one of my favorite FB friends! And he can be yours too! On certain days, he posts a very useful«double secret probation» special deal for a specific food item… its awesome! Monday it was half a rotisserie chicken for only $ 3…it was juicy and delicious! I should’ve bought two! Tuesday it was a chicken sandwich and fries for only $ 5…throw on some FryBQ sauce, and its pretty darn good! Twice the size of what you get at Jack N Box or Carls Jr, and much higher quality! Then they got my personal favorite… the deep fried zucchini, which I’m happy to see is only $ 5 instead of the $ 7 price they charge at the fair. I don’t think there is any actual nutritional value eating this deep fried happiness, but its good! ‚-.___.-. ‚-.(|)(|),-. \_*._’ ‘_.* / /‘-.‘ – ’ .-’\ ‚ – ./‘ — ’ \, – . Frog Legs? This place has a great concept! Fried fair food year round! I like the service and the place is generally clean. I ordered 10 piece buffalo wings(~$ 12) and it came with fries. I consider myself a hot wing afficionado because it is my favorite food in the entire world. The wings were way too heavily battered and because they put an abundant amount of sauce, it makes the batter soggy. If they lighten the batter, the wings would be decent. I enjoyed the fries though. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and enjoyed them– he says it is very comparable to famous chicken and waffle places. We probably will be back and I probably will try one of their shrimp dishes!

I stopped by for lunch with a friend of mine. I do have to say we loved our lunch and while we were waiting we looked at the menu and saw a bunch of good stuff. I really wanted to try the Shrimp Po-Boy and it’s the best one I have ever had. It comes with huge pieces of tender shrimp I haven’t experienced anywhere else with a Shrimp Po-Boy. This one is a WINNER! They were cleaned properly and I liked they removed every inch of the tails on every piece of shrimp and it was nice and smooth all through out. The girl asked me if I wanted tarter sauce or cocktail sauce with my order. I accepted the tarter sauce and it was a good decision because they have awesome tarter sauce that makes up for leaving the mayo off. I also got a side of Mac & Cheese and it was perfectly seasoned and had the right consistency of thickness I like. The girls at the front counter were really nice and helpful at getting orders out quickly and there were no mistakes with ours. It’s a pretty nice place inside and there is a bench that you can sit at right in front while you wait or you can sit at a table if you want too. They call out orders and everything is made to order so it’s nice and piping hot. See you soon!

OMG! I no longer have to wait until SD County Fair season to get my fried deliciousness! I like this place so much I came here twice in one week, back to back days, and with more co-workers the second day! One my first visit I ordered the chicken and waffles. Yes, it’s frickin delicious! Both the waffle and chicken was crispy! But the chicken… the chicken was legit! The one tiny tiny gripe that I have is that the butter and syrup was pre-packaged. With this type of meal I was expecting something homemade or served in a bottle. But none the less, still excellent! The second visit I opted for the chicken and rice. And ohh how I love chicken and rice! Its that simple. Fair food year around but at a fraction of the price.

Oh crap! It’s not the fact I ordered the 2-piece,(breast and wing) Fried Chicken and Waffle and loved it, but am sorry I didn’t have something else! I did love my crunchy fried chicken! But I loved it so much they deserve a first-time review because I will be back! Yaaaaay for first time reviews!!! Ha ha ;) But there are so many other things that also come out of the kitchen looking good, like the cheesesteak sandwich, the PO-boy sandwich, the lobster slippers, plus the shrimp have endless combos, in a half pineapple! …I digress The place was filled at lunch on a Saturday, and it was hot in there. People and employees were complaining about it, so management needs to turn the a/c down a few notches. I waited about 10 minutes for my food, as they’re busy frying all sorts of things, even frog legs! I love frog legs! The only other negative I see is there is no hand-washing station, like Phil’s BBQ has. If I were to have lobster slippers(strong possibility later on down the road) — I’d want to wash my hands after digging in. Call me savage, cause I did just that with my chicken and a fork pulling it apart, but at least I used my «tangerine-scented» hand sanitizer in my car after eating my fried chicken like a true southern girl(when in Rome…) lol The Food: My waffle was perfect. It was crispy and sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar. Yum. Fluffy. Filling. My chicken was delicious. Just.Like.MY.Mom’s Southern Fried Chicken. I loved the seasoning, and the super duper crispy skin. I know poultry skin is so bad for you, but I will indulge sometimes. Lol. The breast was a tad dry but hey, that’s perfect for a picnic at the beach. Since it was so hot in there, we went to our secret place in the shade to eat. We had a filling and tasty meal here for a very reasonable price: 2-piece chicken & waffles– $ 5.99 Chicken Strips — $ 6.95 (comes with fries) Mac & Cheese — $ 2.95 There also is a children’s menu– $ 4.95 Many, many options to choose from, for both adults and children. Atmosphere was upbeat, both customers and employees were friendly. Food was worth the money, except if you start adding sides. Their sides run $ 3.00 for one serving. Try it, you might like it, too! Went here for an early dinner! Place is bomb. These guys are always at the SD Fair. As we walk in, we were greeted Hi! I had buy one get one free, so the cashier told me it is good only for the shrimp or chicken pineapple dish, so I got one of each and two fountain drinks. I receive a number and two cups for our drinks. We take a seat at the booth and wait. Our food came out in 10 minutes. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned. The rice was good and filling. As I dug deeper, I found pieces of sweet pieces of pineapple inside. It tasted sweet and delicious. At this point, I was in a food coma because we have been eating all day. The lady who brought out our food was really nice and asked us how our food was. I really liked that she cared about her customers. Food was great and there were plenty of tables. They had a single stall bathroom in the back which was clean. I highly recommend this place. Delicious food and service!
