Ok… this place is weird as Fu*%. Bring an entire crew because you need to make your own fun here. $ 50 a person to karaōke?! No one is in here right now.

Unfortunately this place closed sometime in June due to some problems with their liquor license. Not clear if they will reopen.

I’ve been there once and it seems that there are many Japanese student girls who are working illegally without proper visa. Also their service is terrible. I’m wondering why this club stays in bussiness.

If you get easily offended, better stop reading. But you have to expect a sort of raunchy decorum on Unilocal Now a days. What can I say about this place that hasn’t already been said already. It seems seedy as f*ck after hearing all the urban legends about Club Legend. Everything being run by the Yakuza to whatever else is posted. On a whim, me and a couple of unnamed friends decided to venture down this stretch of Convoy. First of all this joint is a «companion bar». You basically shell out $ 40 per hour to sit down and have a Japanese girl talk with you and keep you company. No sex involved, no rub and tug, no «me love you long time». The $ 40.00 is not inclusive of food/drinks/tip. In my opinion this place is meh… but apparently there’s a market for it seeing that the place is still in business. So boys if you’re looking for a place with a few«extras», you’re better off going down the street to one of those rub and tug masssage joints or down south to TJ… Not speaking from personal experience or anything…#justsaying…#orsoiheard,

Before becoming brave enough to walk through the doors, Club Legend’s mythos was just way larger than life. During my Lollicup /Korean Pool hall days(before the shooting) we all thought this was a Japanese only strip club. Judging by our people watching skills and the Japanese ads we would see in papers at Mitsuwa we were all convinced this was a Yakuza hangout and you couldn’t get in without knowing the language. Fast forward a few years to a slow weekday night. It was one of those nights where boredom makes you extra bold. We figured that if the security guard doesn’t let us in we wouldn’t be shot at. When we were heartily greeted there was a looooooong double take between us. So what we discovered was sorta like how a lot of the businesses on Convoy are run. There’s the more American side of the business that we were participating in which felt like an Asian cheers. Service was outstanding and all the patrons seemed to know each other. Turns out people people were extra friendly too and before we knew it we were swapping stories with an ex-ex-pat about his travels and local area businesses. Then random people my friend knew walked in forming a mini-reunion. As far as the hostesses were concerned it wasn’t like they were selling themselves like a strip club. Maybe for the older Japanese customers that’s how it is but to the casual observer it’s like they’re there to help you figure out the karaōke controls. At $ 40 an hour it’s practically the same price as renting a karaōke room from one of those karaōke room rental places anyways. I almost convinced someone to have their birthday party here just for the lolz. I’ve gone here a few times with my friend but now he’s out of town. I definitely want to hit this place up again, I just need someone to brave walking through the doors for their first time!

Located in the Plaza del Sol strip mall in Kearny Mesa, Legend Club is what some may call a house of ill repute among the Japanese community in San Diego. The windows are blacked out, much like a porn shop, and some customers look around to see who’s watching them before they walk inside. High backed wooden chairs surround the single bartender at the bar, while semi-circular private booths scattered on the right half of the bar offered privacy to customers who wanted more personalized services or karaōke. As our intrepid hero walked into Legend Club, he couldn’t help but notice a throng of seductively dressed Japanese girls look over at him. It may have been a tick or a glimmer of light, but one even seemed to wink at him like Sarah Palin once did. For a chaser to his drink, our hero decided against ordering a «set»(which is what they call women on their menu here), and left afterward with one of their paper coasters in hand as a souvenir. There are many interesting things you could do with $ 40, and getting a girl to «just talk» to you for an hour isn’t very high on the list. With $ 1 karaōke requests, $ 4 domestic beers, $ 5 Japanese beers, and $ 40 Japanese women… how can you go wrong? So many ways. Fast forward two weeks. Our hero was over at a friend’s house entertaining some Japanese lady friends, as his friend was pouring them a drink. One of his lady friends reached over for a coaster and picked up our hero’s souvenir from Legend. «Legend Club? Did you guys go there?» she asked, looking a bit stunned as she read the name on the coaster. «Uhhh… not me. It was him,» fibbed our hero as he pointed at his friend. «I had another friend that went there once… so, did you pay for girls?» Reputation: ruined. Cock: blocked. Look on his friend’s face: priceless. PROS: — Hot Asian girls. CONS: — You can look, but you can’t touch(supposedly). — Kind of seedy on the inside; potentially a front for the Yakuza.

I actually knew a girl that worked here. A very attractive Japanese gal and she never told me what she did in there so I had to go and find out. Its pretty much what Matt describes it to be. Sad but my friend made a killing here just talking to old dudes in monkey suits.
