Wrong orders received. Disorganized. I came here to slap more, but it looks like everyone else has had the same experience. Badly managed I guess.

One of the better bagel and bagel sandwiches around. Love coming here because they get you in and out. Love the chocolate chip and everything bagel. They have good deals to purchase on certain days.

They’re super busy every time I walk by here. The other day I went on on mother’s day and the gave me a plain bagel when I ordered sesame. The Bagel was really good and I will come back.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I used to come here all the time by default(no other bagel places in the area), but I stopped coming because of their long lines, slow service, and horrible inventory mgmt(how can a bagel place run out of bagels by 8:30???)…I went back today against my better judgement to order 2 bagels with cream cheese… it took 40 minutes, they were out of almost every type of bagel(because of course, what else would they run out of)…when I got my bagel, it was burnt and had a mixture of regular cream cheese and strawberry which was just disgusting… and not only that, it was just globbed on way too much to the point it’s not even edible). Come on people, how hard can it be to cut a freakin bagel and put a little smear on it. You suck Einsteins!!!

Solid bagels. Their cheese topped bagels seem to have a sharper cheese to them. Pretty consistent and reliable cream cheese. Convenient togo boxes for large orders. My faves — Cinnamon — Cheese topped — Plain — Sesame — Pretzel Office Gripe — Some employees take two cheese bagel tops and make one super cheesy bagel but leave other people with the butts.

I requested a plain THIN bagel, the person behind the counter proceeds to take a regular plain bagel and cut it in thirds… I could have done that! Why advertise THIN bagels if you don’t make them???

Everyone has said it right. The bagels are good except their ordering line awkwardness and small shop making it congested.

This Einstein is horrible. You can’t count on them to have coffee. The coffee machine is frequently broken. Service is also crap. One time the guy working the register let a woman cut in front of me and said«ladies first».

always a solid place for a good bagel morning. service here a little slow, but only because they are swamped. a favorite for kids and i to go to on a wednesday AM before school. my son loves the spinach florentine toasted with CC(go figure! i love it!!) and my daughter loves the lox(again, go figure, i’ve got eclectic kids). i love the bottomless coffees, lots of flavors.

Came here for French toast bagel as advertised. No French toast bagels left. Typical with Einstein. If you don’t make it in before 845, you may not get your bagel.

We’ve been frequenting this store for years. No bagel in San Diego comes close to those in NYC and believe me we’ve looked all over town. These bagels are usually pretty good but my biggest complaint are that my cinnamon raisin often have burnt piece of garlic on the bottom. Yuck! Please clean the baking sheets or have designated sheets for the onion and garlic. Also, I don’t get why they don’t have egg bagels.

I love their bagels but the place could be cleaner. The bathrooms are not clean either. I will still go back for the bagel and their coffee.

Seems like a good place. Not too many people here on this day. The employees aren’t that happy to be here. The line system isn’t that clear to begin w/. No signs whatsoever. BUT, a good selection of bagels. The better things to do is just to order on your phone or online and pick up.

My mother was visiting from out of town and we felt like a quick bagel stop… being located in Del Mar you would think the upkeep would be well kept… the bathroom was horrendous! The staff members were unfriendly and unorganized. I asked one staff member if she could grab me a bag of white chips and she replied«I don’t know where they are, ask that guy. «I mean common, it’s not like you’re working in a Vons… The Italian Chicken Panini was thrown together, tasted old, and had chard burnt pieces. Needless to say, we will not be going back to the Highlands location.

Good bagels and fast service! While visiting Del Mar over the weekend we had breakfast at Einstein Bros. We almost passed because the line was about 15 people long. We bit the bullet and waited less than ten minutes. We were impressed with the quality of service. It seems that Einstein is a victim of their own success… because of the popularity of this store it is crowded. So crowded that it effects the layout of the store. They do not have a big enough store to accommodate all the customers and the line is right where the beverage service station resides. If they had more space and a different layout the problem would be solved… soemthing to think about when their lease is up.

Busy place. Fast staff. Mauro in particular is great at what he does and guest services seem to be something he takes pride in. The morning rush can be kinda long in line but the great bagels and friendly service make up for it JLH

This place is the sort of in a pinch type of establishment that you go to when you’re wanting a bagel or a quick breakfast. I frequent this place typically when I need to buy employees bagels or bagels for the office. The bagels are pretty good, cream cheese is solid and the service is ok. Overall, wouldn’t necessarily recommend a full blown breakfast here, but if buying bagels in masses or you just want a quick bite, this joint isn’t a bad option. Pros– Price Selection early Cream cheeses Cons– Nothing special Parking Can get crowded

We go here regularly despite poor service because we love the bagels. That being said– if you go here watch the person helping you and check that they give you what you asked for before leaving. We have gone multiple times and been given the wrong order, or shorted bagels when getting a dozen. Nothing worse than getting home and realizing they didn’t give you what you asked or payed for. Today was the worst– I got the wrong order(my fault for not checking before I left), and when I returned to ask for the bagels I didn’t get the first time the employee actually took bagels out of the the bucket I had already taken home and touched and put them back into circulation for other customers-EWWW! Not only that, she was working the cash register and didn’t put gloves on, and gave me replacements for the ones I didn’t get. Horrible customer service and unhygienic!

My fave bagels! I was thinking about how I never get bagels anymore and craved some this morning as Einstein Bros always hits the spot. I haven’t had Einstein in years and have always been a fan; however I was never near any Einstein and a Panera would always be my closest option. Einstein wins hands down with bagels, there isn’t much competition out there! The selection of bagels and the options for shmears/spreads are excellent as Einstein Bros have a wide variety to choose from(yay!). The service has been nice and quick for the one visit that I’ve had at this location, which will probably bring me back for more along with the tasty bagels. The price for a toasty bagel with shmear is worth it in my honest opinion. RECOMMENDATION: everything bagel with garden veggie/sun-dried tomato shmear! .love.love…love it.

The bagels here are absolutley amazing… when they’re there. they hardly ever have bagels. I go here so frequently hoping to just get a few bagels and they NEVER have any. I don’t understand how they’re a bagel store still in business without ever having any bagels?

Being that I just moved back to California from the South, Einsteins has really made my mornings since coming back. The food is never a problem to me. It’s a chain so the same selection is expected at each store — bagels, shmear. Speaking about this particular location, the service is often a little frantic. The staff always looks so frazzled, and the last two times, they have nearly messed up my order. It’s good I actually double check the customer screen on the register. The cashiers are friendly at least, and the outdoor area is nice to sit at on a sunny day. It’s an easy go to for me, in terms of their bagels and sandwiches. I recommend their spinach and mushroom bagel.

This place is soooo disorganized! I have been here probably 4 or 5 times in the last 6 months, always optimistic that maybe my next visit will be a better experience. And each time, I’m disappointed. They either mess up my order, or a couple times forgot all about me(I finally went up and asked the guy when I noticed other customers in line behind me already being served before me). Yesterday, was Strike 3. Very bad. I walked in the door to a mob of customers, all scattered out. No place to form a line. Finally, after awhile standing behind lots of people, I get up to the front counter and a guy takes my order only half of my order… then walks away as I prepare to hand him my credit card. he just disappears off into a back room without even finishing taking my order. I’m astounded. What the heck? I continue to stand there another 5 minutes waiting for him to return. He never does. I counted 7 Einstein employees and not a single one of them acknowledges me the entire time… It was like I was invisible. I couldn’t get anyone’s attention. Very loud in there. Finally, I shouted at the top of my lungs(I never do this!) just to get ANY employee’s attention to actually finish letting me order(I’d only already ordered 3 of my total 5 things I planned to order) I considered walking out on the spot. Finally a 3rd employee turned and pointed to a mob of people on the opposite side of the restaurant and said, don’t you know you have to pay over there? No signs anywhere, any nobody told me anything, so duh, of course I didn’t know, thanks guy. «yeah the other should’ve told you» he said. So disorganized. Very poorly run operation at this location. Also the restaurant seating area is gross, nobody to bus tables or vacuum. Crumbs all over tables and carpet. and spilled soda and trash on tables. Don’t go here.

Yes the ordering system is a bit weird but the line moves fairly quickly on a busy Saturday morning so no complaints here. My favorite thing here is their lox. I always order is on a thin whole wheat bagel with light cream cheese. Sometimes I’ll get lucky and get a nice thick piece of salmon! For $ 6.99 it’s a great price. I also love their fresh squeezed orange juice. Service is usually friendly and quick. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad bagel here.

You know, I love the Einsteins in Solana Beach and this one is such a far drop from what I’m used to. It’s small, the layout is weird and it’s always packed. The counters and displays are set up in a way where it’s not clear how to order or where the line starts and begins-and because of the size and busy crowds-the lines weave through the tables making it awkward to ever sit and enjoy your order. The staff is pleasant enough, but seems unorganized. The product is pretty consistent with general Einstein Bros requirements– so 3 stars since at the end of wrangling through it all-I still have a cinnamon and sugar bagel toasted with butter and a coffee. If you’re interested in sitting and staying, drive another two exits to Lomas Santa Fe and enjoy the bigger floor plan.

This is a very busy Einstein’s. In fact, it is way to small for the amount of volume they do during peek hours. The seriously goes from the back counter to the back door of the place. Sometimes patrons have line up outside the door, so what I am trying to say, it’s hard to comfortable seating inside, and they need a bigger place. I came in had a hot lemon chamomile tea and a 9 grain bagel toasted with light butter and sliced tomatoes.( ) The tea was pleasant and the bagel came peppered with a variety nutritious seeds.( ) The tomatoes were freshly sliced and crisp. I added a little black pepper and I was set to go!( ) The bagel itself had good flavor a nice texture. The employees were working quickly trying to keep up with the crowds, but I still maintain, they just need a larger place to accommodate the crowds, paired with another register and larger work space for the employees. They make a good bagel…

So, after 10 months I went back… Was craving a bagel. Nothing changed. Un-happy workers, not clean, even with no people in line you still wait forever! The attitude comes for free! Doesn’t anyone from Corporate read these reviews? Hello? Obviously, it didn’t take an Einstein to set the system here. Give it a 0+. The plus is for the attempt to make a good bagel. When you are really hungry it works… Change the lousy system!

Melt in your mouth bagels and if you’re lucky — they are sometimes chewy in a good-way. Their lox sandwich comes open faced with a big slice of lox flopped over both slices of bagel… nice way to present it … just like ya get in NYC. The orange juice is freshly squeezed(as far as I can tell; although another reviewer/yelper did say it’s now from concentrate… so check it out) The only negatives about this location is that it is super busy on weekends(which is usually when I go) and the mall this is located is super busy too… which means — tough to find good parking! Also, the logistics of the restaurant are such that the line(when long) runs directly through the dining room… it’s tight and annoying both to the person waiting in line, as well as to the person whom you’re practically standing over when waiting in line. «Pick-up» of your food order is just as clustered… some people crowd around the cash registers, and waiters flow out the door as well. Other than the«logistics» of this location, I still really like Einstein Bros Bagels and will come back again sure enough.
