This was a waste of $ they give you barely any meat(did not taste like fresh Mexican food). Burritos are so small! Every time! I complain about them screwing me over & they make you feel like sh*t for complaining about being ripped off. I hope management makes some improvements for customers not the employees.

This location was recently a Fresh MXN Food but now a Santana’s Mexican Food eatery with a 24 hour drive thru. I stopped in before heading over to Donut Touch and ordered a «Buenas Dias Burrito» without the french fries. The burrito came with to scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, cheese, and Mexican salsa, but they forgot to put that in the burrito. The burrito cost $ 5.99 plus tax and was average in size or perhaps a little on the skinny side due to the lack of french fries and salsa. However, the ingredients that were inside the burrito did taste quite good. The bacon was very crispy and flavor. It was definitely what stood out the most in the burrito. The eggs were soft and lightly seasoned but could of used a better hand at scrambling given the egg whites were not properly incorporated with the yolks. The cheddar cheese was semi melted and the flour tortilla had that nice buttery texture. They offer some very good hot sauces and salsa at the salsa bar which is conveniently located next to the beverage dispenser. It was not completely filled, with two trays missing, but that was okay because I wanted some of the avocado salsa and a chunky ranchera sauce. Both tasted great and went very well with the breakfast burrito. Although I ate in, they offer a drive thru and nice friendly service, as I experienced.

This review is for the California burrito only. The 1 pound chicken california burrito is a giant flour tortilla filled with chicken, beans, fries and lots of cheese. Pretty basic and good stuff. i can never really finish the whole thing but the taste is consistent and for reasons unknown i keep finding myself in the drive-thru of this place. Fast, filling and convenient to eat while you drive. They have a fresh salsa bar. I vote for the ranchera and verde. Always check your order when in drive-thru and ask the person to give you extra salsa and pickled carrots(they are delicious and pair well with the burrito). Cheers!

Drive through takes forever — 10 minutes wait. Food was not great at all. Not very happy!!! If I can give this place a negative I would :(

This restaurant no longer exist, it’s name was changed to Santanas. The carnitas place was a pretty big size with beans and rice plus a fountain drink for $ 10. I guess for the size and quality it was a fair price. I did get sick from gassy a nd bloating stomach right about a few hours later. I was in so much pain and 24 hours later still having stomach burping and loud sounds. I don’t know if it was the salsa or carnitas but my co-worker and I both got sick. Beware. Eat at your own risk.

Disgusting! Our food was cold and was not anything that we ordered. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and got a chicken soft taco with hair in it, my co worker ordered carne asada fries and got oily under cooked fries, and my boss got a pollo asado California burrito with burned chicken and no potatoes. We ordered our food at around 2am so maybe the cook thought we’d be too drunk to notice. Anyways we took they’re disgusting food back to them and were able to get a refund. I usually have no problems with this location. But whoever they have working the graveyard SUCKS!!!

The carne asada chips were stale and the meat was too chewy and tasted like burnt oil. There wasn’t any guacamole as well. You don’t get what you pay for. I also showed them a check in offer of a free fountain drink and they said they don’t accept it because they changed their name. One day its Fresh MXN, the next its Santana’s. What’s the deal? Fix the food and stick to one name please.

When a restaurant is that close to work it’s hard not to like it. So it’s not a bad place to grab lunch, they are decently priced as well. My fellow colleagues seems to love this place. I think it’s alright. I ordered the chicken burrito and the grill fish burrito a couple of times. I like how they have the condiment bar. It’s so convenient, all places should think about that. The cashier is usually nice and the place is usually clean. So there really isn’t much to complain about. Overall a great go to spot if you’re in the area and craving some Mexican food. Otherwise it’s just A-OK. Lunch anyone?

This place USE to be good, but with taco shops at every corner there is no reason to come here. I was getting an oil change across the street so before my drive home in rush hour traffic and thought I’d stop by for a breakfast burrito which I’ve been craving all day! 1st impression… There is a handwritten note on the drive through speaker that says something along the lines of «Say hello when you’re ready to order.» Okay… Awkward, but no big deal. They have a menu full of some relishing sounding items, however, I went there specially for a breakfast burrito. There were only 3 options, so I want with the Buenos Dias Burrito(Bacon, eggs, POTATOES, cheese, Mexican salsa). Wasn’t the carne asada breakfast burrito I really wanted(yes, I know I could’ve asked… I didn’t want to sound picky ordering things non-existent on the menu), but it sounded delicious nonetheless. I pull up to the drive thru window and the guy asks if I want salsa… I say yes, extra red sauce please. I can hear him making the burrito to order which is a huge plus! Less than 5 minutes later I have a burrito and as I drive away I see 2 of the smallest to-go containers of red salsa… That is extra?! Whatever, I’m not about to turn back. I finally get home and only planning to eat some of it, I cut the burrito in half. Potatoes are french fries, not what I was expecting when they say potatoes on the menu but whatever, I love French fries, who doesn’t?! First bite into the burrito… Mouth full of oily, soft French fries. WTF?! I pay $ 6.50 for a burrito that is halfway filled with soggy unseasoned fries??? I end up pulling all the fries out of half the burrito and end up with 3 bits left of egg, and bacon bits(I asked for no cheese, and there was NO Mexican salsa in the burrito as described on the menu). I hate this place. With so much delicious and quality Mexican food and taco shops around that actually care about the product they put out, I can’t imagine why anyone would go here. I should’ve went to Sombreros across the way. Avoid this place…

What can I say? I love their rolled tacos with all the topping after a long night at work! Their red salsa is really good, not too spicy but still has a kick.

Just make sure you check your food before you take off because I’ve gotten home with meals I did NOT order. I order carne asada chips but I get fries instead. Or I order chicken enchiladas & it turns out to be just cheese! Disappointing!

Waited at the drive thru line for 5 mins and never got a response. The price is cheaper than sombreros next door, but the drive thru line takes forever. The employees are horrible don’t really seem to care about the customer, while in the drive thru I wanted to reverse out but a car pulled in behind me. I think if your gonna have a drive thru try to make it a little faster. And the burrito was the worst bean and cheese I have ever ever ever had to throw it out the beans where dry Cheese was cold gave the place a second try and tried a California and there was no meat at all just all fries so disappointing

Remember the days when Santana’s or Fresh MXN was known for their giant burrito sizes? Well those days are long gone. I came by after a night of heavy drinking and decided to get a burrito. Since this place was on my way home it was the easiest and most convenient Mexican food place for me to go. I should have just went with my gut and made the extra 10 min drive to Vallarta’s in Mira Mesa. I got a Machaca burrito and the first thing I notice was how skinny the burrito was. I’m used to eating burritos the size of a newborn baby, at least that’s how most other Mexican places make their burritos. I’m not sure if this is a recent thing for their portion sizes but I don’t remember it being this small. Anyways the machaca was decent, a bit salty for me. One of the pluses about this place is their giant salsa bar. There is a salsa for everyone. Would I come back? Probably not when I could get a burrito twice the size for the same price at almost everywhere else.

Since I live close to this MXN its been my usual go-to spot for late night Mexican food. Most of the time I’ve had a good experience until recently. Couple of nights ago I bought a California burrito and took it home to eat. 1⁄3 way into the burrito I bit down and felt a crazy pain on the right side of my teeth. I thought I had a chipped a tooth or something and had no idea what the hell I bit into. Come to find out I bit into a PIECEOFMETAL! About 1 inch long and the width of a toothpick(picture uploaded). Long story short I went back and showed them what was inside my food. They offered to either make me another metal burrito or refund my money. She told me it was off something they use to clean the grill with at night. She said it must have broke off and somehow got mixed into the meat. Even though the lady was very apologetic I took the money and will never go back there again. ALSO, the reviews about the creepy guy that works at night is true. YOU’VEBEENWARNED! Rated it a 2 because at least they tried to make up for almost killing me.

Had a «drenched» bean and cheese burrito, boyfriend had a California burrito… Nothing about them were good. Cold, unmelted cheese, sauce wasn’t hot, just blah. Reading the reviews it has happened before so I’m not sure why they have done nothing to fix it. Also went here another time because it is one of the few 24 hour places to eat on Scripps. Get to the drive thru, order my food and they guy says«the grill is being cleaned»… Ok so, what can I order? «Well the grill is being cleaned so nothing»… Not sure how long it takes to clean the grill or how much longer it would be because the guy didn’t give me anything but«grill is being cleaned»… Stellar customer service right there!

I just came here for a California burrito that I ordered through the drive-thru. They were really fast and so that’s a plus. The tortilla in the burrito was good and it did not get soggy or fall apart at all, that is also worth another star because you can always tell the quality of a Mexican food place by the tortilla. Unfortunately I felt like the burrito was dry throughout. It really needed something like some salsa fresca or guacamole or something to make it not just be dry I kept having to use up salsa just to give it some moisture and flavor. I rarely ever use salsa on my food and I used up two containers of it tonight. It was dry french fries and a glob of cheese in a random spot. Seriously, why is it that places don’t give you an equal amount of food per bite? They never blend the ingredients they just give you one bite full of french fries, then you get a huge chunk of cheese and then your next bite has the meet. So annoying! Overall I can’t give this place more than three stars, it was just average.

Stopped in for quick bite and had the Tj style tacos. I was impressed as in other visits the food was ok. Plenty of different salsas to go with them.

Not a fan of this place… I don’t think there was one thing i liked here? Not even the salsa. I probably had one tostada here and found a piece of beef in my beans. Lost my appetite and that was that.

Consistent fresh Mexican food. Tried Buenas Dias Burrito for sunday breakfast and it was awesome. had bacon, ham, eggs, fries and it was filling and satisfying. Combo it up for 1.99 to add rice beans and drink. Good eats

By far my least my favorite Mexican Taco Shop around. I have given this place several tries over the years, since they are so close to my house. The food is consistent, consistently bad. The carne asada fries and chips are very greasy and it taste as though they haven’t changed the oil in a while. The carne asada meat is tough and bland. Recently, my sister told me they serve one of the best adobado burritos. I was shocked to hear this, so we got one. Wow, was she wrong. The pork was one dimensional and only had one flavor note to it — ketchup. My sister was shocked, she said maybe her memory was off. I’m sorry, but I don’t think I will ever come back here. One too many attempts gone wrong.

Out of the options for lunch in the area I thought this would be an interesting choice. The inside is clean, and it seems that the salsa bar is kept up pretty well. They even have pickled veggies and hot peppers. There were also a lot of salsa options. I got a veggie burrito where you get to choose four items to go inside. I got rice, beans, guac, and lettuce. I really don’t think lettuce should count as an item. Or maybe charge 50 cents or something for it? It was a large burrito but SUPER salty. I got a side of fries to try to make my own CA style burrito. The fries are probably good inside the burrito, but they are awful just on the side. SOSOGGY and limp. I also got a soda. I came out over $ 8 which it expensive for what I got. Also the sitting area is a bit creepy. They have a jukebox that you have to pay for music. Otherwise it is dead silent with a song coming on automatically every now and then. Just play some music in the background people and don’t try to nickle and dime your customers. I will try other options next time I am in the area.

Food? Not bad. I got a machaca burrito and some chicken flautas and they were decent actually. Service? Unless creepy, lingering, hungry-like-a-wolf stares that practically burrow into your soul from the cashier night staff are your thing, I would suggest hitting up Roberto’s next door(probably the same level of food quality). My girlfriends and I felt so uncomfortable, we had to ask our guy friends to go up to the counter to get the food for us when it was ready. Bleh.
