I came here with some friends for late night food, and the food was surprisingly really good! I had the tuna salad(rare), and it was really filling and delicious. The garlic bread on the side was also pretty good, and this all for a reasonable price for a salad of that size($ 12 or $ 14, can’t quite remember). My friend got the fish tacos, and he said he enjoyed them as well. We didn’t get any drinks, but the cocktails looked delicious. While it was very busy during on a Saturday night, our food came on time and our waitress was friendly. Wouldn’t be my top choice when I’m back in town, but Henry’s Pub is a solid choice — at least for the food we tried.

Would have definitely come back expect for a shitty experience at the bar. Walked in attracted by the casual vibe and good music. Bouncer was nice and chill but had horrible bar service. My friend ordered the Elixir Cocktail at the bar and came back and had a sip at the table and made a face. Me and another friend all tried and made the same face… I went up to the bar to ask the bartender to change the drink and she kept insisting that it was supposed to taste like that because of the fresh pressed apple juice. Last time I checked fresh juice apple juice and gin did not taste like a shot of tequila with a million shots of syrup. She refused to change the drink or remake it and finally just added some soda which did nothing to improve the drink. Also when she added soda she put the ice in a tall glass first then added the remainder of the drink to the glass, throwing away half of the original drink when it didn’t fit into that one. So now instead of syrup and tequila we had a crappy tasting drink with half the alcohol watered down…

My wife, our friend Sandy and I came to see Rockabilly Tuesday’s band with Phil Diorio as lead. Our experience was fantastic! Service was good considering the packed house! We will tell our friends not to miss this place.

Used to be a very good bar with some great bartenders like Preston and Janeal. They were always so welcoming and made people feel at home. Preston could always put a smile on your face no matter what type of day you were having. Well apparently they, and a lot of others, are no longer there and the place has really gone down hill. Seems like most of the management has really lost their way and now have a «could careless» attitude toward their guests. For example, if you go late, you have to deal with some cocky wannabe cop security guard named Tristin or something like that. Him and his manager Cody, who’s always running around sweating and panicking, are condescending and make you feel anything but welcomed. Your best bet is to deal with Steve, who seems to be the only one that cares about the place. Overall, it’s your same basic lost identity sports bar with average food that you can find anywhere in downtown San Diego. Don’t waste your time. UPDATE: So heard back from the GM «Mark» regarding some of the issues going on at his bar and here’s the full actual response: «Don’t contact me again, don’t come here again.» No wonder the staff has attitude problems. It just goes to show how sad and pathetic this bar has become.

Ohhhh. Myyyyy. Stiff drinks for a great price. Probably one of the best happy hour deals around Gaslamp. Bartenders are always smiling & having fun. So attentive even when the bar is 3 deep. The door guys are very welcoming. I can’t just walk by and not stop in when I see their inviting smiles. Walking in you get immediately greeted again by anyone who is in uniform. Sitting at the bar, you always get a happy face from whomever is behind the bar. By now they see me walk in & knowing what I drink, start pouring. Sunday nights they have karaōke which is my favorite night. You get a great mix of ‘singers’ with the occasional drunk belter, which is awesome encouraging us non-singers yet not drunk enough people to get up there. Everyone’s always having a great time here. Don’t forget to order a Cluckmoo. Best succulent hamburger ever made. And it comes with a bonus. A fried chicken breast. Yes. On the burger. Yes. Burger with fried chicken on it. Enough said. Time to go get one now. This is absolutely my favorite bar downtown.

Came here after a company party with a large group and they had plenty of room and allowed us to more or less take over the outside tables. It was a Friday around 430 in the afternoon and they had a great three dollar happy hour on draft beers and well drinks. It’s saved our group a lot of money and we had a very pleasant time. A couple coworkers had some pizzas and they were pretty good

Man this place is what I’ve been looking for. My brother came to town for a visit and had been nagging me about going out. We bar hopped for a bit and landed on henry’s. We showed up the first time when it was slow, which we enjoyed. Good selection of beer and fast service Second time was on a Saturday night. Lots more people. The guy at the front door remembered us and gave us that welcome back feel you’d want from a local pub where you know everyone. Music was great, dj mixed things up and new how to make a party. All the employees were generally nice. Great experience, this will now be our go to spot for down town san diego. Cheers!

Sad to say, our usual go to’s in San Diego were closed on this crazy day. After about 15 – 20 minutes of driving around, we parked in the Gaslamp area and walked up and down 5th street. Of the eateries in the area that were open, we decided upon Henry’s Irish Pub. Mmm, looks like a sports bar, but oh well. The hostess was nice, as was our server. So, for first impression, we were received kindly. Good girls. Our server highlighted the thanksgiving turkey dinner. Well, Bön and Genna jumped on that. Me thinking to myself, turkey dinner at an Irish sports bar type of place? Get outta here! How brave of them. But oh well. I ordered the New York steak and Marcos the shrimp tacos. Yeah, we roll like that. That turkey dinner the girls ordered was pretty darn good. And my steak? I’ll be darned, at medium rare it was good. With baby carrots, small well done potatoes and a ice cold Irish beer. Then the girls got pecan pie, decent. Nice conversation, Packers/Bears game on tv’s. Didn’t care much for cigarette smoke from customers sitting outside that drifted inside and a bit loud, but not too bad. Server gets 4 stars for service and all else, 3. I was a bit surprised that I didn’t see Irish food on menu. I wasn’t too impressed with the place itself, but hey, for an Irish sports bar, without the Irish food, it was ok.

I love this bar! My sister & I came here two days in a row and we loved our experience! Music was good & we got to dance on the dance floor!!! love ma sis lol Their service is outstanding, the bouncer or staff Cody was such a gentleman, the blonde bar tender lady who worked tonight was very nice & the guy named Drew with the cool hat was awesome. We definitely loved our experience here, will come back for lunch or something next time :)

Me and some cool peeps stopped in here after bouncing around to a couple of bars in Gaslamp. We had a hell of a time as we danced, drank and mingled. The best thing I endured here was the Karl Strauss Peanut Butter Cup Porter. The best peanut butter porter I’ve had by far… no disrespect to Belching Beaver’s version. Joseph behind the bar was awesome with turning drinks around rapidly and getting this rowdy crowd taken care of. I definitely recommend this place for a fun time on a saturday night.

Not quite sure yet about this place. Have checked it out a couple times now and I’m very 50⁄50 on it. This review is solely about the bar/drinks as I’ve never eaten here. Stopped in one night and it was not very busy at the bar. Maybe 4 – 5 other people. We sat down and underneath the lip of the bar, you gotta go so you understand what I’m describing, there was dried up limes that had been in someones drink. I took a napkin and set them up top, nobody ever threw them away. The bartender seemed very distracted or new or not really sure what he was doing. Thankfully the night bartender came on eventually and introduced himself and checked on the patrons. Rewind though, it took the first bartender about 5x longer than it should to acknowledge us and his other guests. He was very confused about something but he let that distraction distract his guests too, not a good idea! Anyways, we waited it out and eventually had a wine and vodka. The service was mediocre at best. Stopped in again and sat outside during some car show a week or so ago. The outside cocktail waitress was great. She was friendly, prompt and very quick to get our drinks. She saved us from really not liking this place. I will definitely check it out again eventually.

Mannnnn I’m giving this place 5 stars! EVERYTIME I come to this place we ALWAYS end up having a good time,(This review is about the Nightlife when it turns into sort of a nightclub on weekends) this is one of those places you come to with low expectations and it always turns out fun, the times I have come have been Friday’s and Saturdays and I was just here this past Friday and it was a fun night, the door guys are always super chill, nice and respectful and the bartender I had was amazing I’m mad I didn’t get his name so I could give him a shout out in this review, I will update this review later for that purpose, his drinks were on point and his service was fast! Each time we tipped him they rang that bell so I’m guessing that meant we were good tippers? Ha! but if you want a fun spot to go to check this place out, you will enjoy yourself, if you don’t have the plug to walk right in just be patient once you get inside and get a drink it will be fun, this is not a pretentious place, just a nice chill atmosphere to drink, hang out with your friends, people watch on the balcony and dance if you like to Break It Down! Tip your bartender WELL if they are good and tip average if they are not! Don’t drink and drive!

I was so glad I decided to try Henry’s for dinner on my last night visiting San Diego. I got a nice comfortable seat at a high table with a large high definition screen right across from me playing a baseball game. When I was seating, the hostess promptly informed me of their excellent happy hour prices: $ 3 for most beers and house wines. I decided to go with a house Cabernet. The menu was decent, with some variety on it and reasonable prices. I ordered a vegetarian wrap that was excellent and came with sweet potato fries. Service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely come back here again.

In San Diego, to confirm accommodations for Comic Con, friends and I stopped in at Henry’s Pub for lunch. There was a large group inside, so we choose to sit outside — it was quieter, without all the people and all the TV’s blaring. Plus, there was free entertainment — people trying to parallel park. Service was good. Our server, was attentive enough, considering she was pregnant and due in less than a week. She came by when she was needed and followed up when the kitchen made a mistake with my order. The food is okay. It’s decent enough for pub food however, it’s not one of those places where I’m going to look for an enjoyable meal. My pasta was a little too well done. The sauce too watery and I needed to add both salt and pepper for taste. It’s pub food.

Came here for San Diego Burger Week. They had $ 5 a la carte burger specials, and I definitely chose them out of the long list of participating venues due to the cluckmoo. The Cluckmoo is a burger topped with a fried chicken breast. I had to have it. My friend got a bacon cheese burger, and we shared a plate of fries. When my cluckmoo arrived, I was totally excited. It looked delicious. I prepped it just the way I like to and dug in. Or tried to anyway, as the burger is huge! I had no idea how I was going to fit the whole sandwich in my mouth to take a bite. I squished it as best I could and went for it. It was so good I did a little happy dance in my seat. After mocking me a little for how a small person was going to eat the entire burger, he gave up a piece of his bacon which led me to make my remaining half of sandwich a cluckmoooink. So, so good. My friend enjoyed his burger as well. Other things worthy of note. The server was friendly. They have a good selection of beer as well as a full bar. like the setup of their restaurant. The bar is in the back and I like how it is double tiered. They have a couple booths and the rest of their seating are tables. You can sit outside in the front or indoors. Full of options. They also have live music, as well as a bunch of TVs.

«The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude.» — Oprah Winfrey Came here especially for the Cluckmoo during San Diego burger week. Since it was during the lunch hour, all was quiet so the nice hostess let us pick where to sit. We decided on the optimal people watching booth. When the Cluckmoo arrived it’s sheer size alone was daunting! How to proceed, hmm, can’t use the traditional method, so knife and fork it is. The juicy, flavorful burger truly stands alone, but paired with the fried chicken breast, becomes such a wonderful explosion of flavor. Dipping a bite into the homemade sauce catapults into the stratosphere. Now I’m desperately hooked and may need therapy to survive! Or I could just keep coming back…:) The sweet potato fries paired with the blue cheese crumbles creates an interesting flavor combination. The blue cheese yogurt dipping sauce I did not care for. Just love the creative ambition of Henry’s to create such an unique burger!

It was the final day of San Diego CityBeat’s Burger Week, and I was on a mission: to finally get my hands on the famous #Cluckmoo burger. This gastronomic delicacy is a all-natural ground beef burger topped with a slice of melted American cheese… then topped with half a homemade fried chicken breast and served on a Bread & Cie brioche bun, along with a lettuce leaf and slices of onion and tomato on the side. The #Cluckmoo is clearly Henry’s Pub’s pride and joy(it’s featured prominently on their ads in CityBeat), and I really wanted to try it after seeing it posted on the Burger Week listings for $ 5(normally $ 15, making this one of the best deals). I placed my order, along with a side of sweet potato fries($ 7, with a side of blue cheese yogurt dip) and a Diet Coke. While the fries were just… ok, the #Cluckmoo was everything I imagined it would be. The burger came out the way I wanted it as medium well — nice and juicy, with a good sear — but that chicken strip… amazing! The coating was crispy and well seasoned, and the chicken was quite juicy. If the folks at Henry’s ever read this, they would have a winner if they crafted a sandwich around their fried chicken! The brioche bun kinda fell apart on me ¾ of the way through — so keep those knives and forks handy, ’cause you will need them! The ambiance at Henry’s is quite chill — there’s plenty of TVs showing plenty of sporting events, and there was some live music going on prior to the NCAA championship game airing. Plenty of seating inside and out — this is definitely a place to take out of towners, Gaslamp regulars, and/or Comic-Con attendees. Definitely holding onto my 10% off coupon for checking in on the Unilocal app — this is gonna come in handy once Comic-Con starts!
