The owner or whoever he is, is a jerk my friend and I went in there and ordered food and he was incredibly rude. My friend who is bilingual ordered in Spanish and the guy got all irritated and started being a jerk telling him he can speak to him in English and that he didn’t need to be speaking to him in Spanish even though we just heard him speaking Spanish to a cook. So after he was done being a jerk we left a note on a napkin telling him he was being a dick which is childish but he’s been treating us like this for years the only reason we still go is because it’s close to us. He came outside and started yelling and told us we were no longer welcome which is fine because he’s a complete jerk and anyone that has to encounter him will figure this out.

Authentic Mexican street tacos $ 1.25 on Tuesdays. Double stacked corn tortillas, dripping with meat and toppings. Really tasty for the price, and tasted just like the ones I’ve had on the streets of Mexico. I had the fish, carnitas, adobada, and pollo asado – all tasty. The boy got an enchilada and enjoyed it. Their shrimp burritos looked pretty good too, huge, spicy and filled with shrimp(a guy across from me was eating one and said its his go-to). Can’t vouch for the menu otherwise, but it appears to be an authentic hole in the wall with many tasty options. Cozy seating(aka few seats inside, more outside).

Overpriced and not good. worst breakfast burrito in San Diego hands down! I’ve tried this place 3 times and every thing we’ve ordered had sucked badly.

I already have a go to taco shop in Vallartas nearby but decided to go here because a friend recommended it to me. Got the Cali Burrito and was disappointed. It was lacking in quality of the freshness of ingredients and size. All the Salsas had a strange tangy taste to it. Luckily I had some leftover green sauce from Vallartas to finish it off. Not to mention they only give you one cup to fill up your sauces. Lol what? I spent $ 8 on a burrito & tip, give me my sauce. Gracìas!

Order: Pollo Asada Burrito. Bean and Cheese Burrito. Bean and Cheese Burrito average. In retrospect, after eating about half of it, ought to have thrown it away. Took a few bites from Pollo Asada Burrito. Wasn’t feeling it. Then tried to just eat the tortilla. Couldn’t take it anymore. Ended up tossing it. Also: Asked for beans in my Pollo Asada Burrito and was charged $ 0.95(without being told).

There carne asada fries are good with jalapeños and stuff but the amount is sorry for eight dollar I expect to get more then what they give of you want quantity and quality for the same price I recommend Cotixas, Vallarta or Super Sergio’s

Nice little taco shop! Small, hole in the wall type of place. Some seating both indoor and outdoor. The lady at the counter was super friendly. I ordered the Carne Asada fries. They were Delicious. Loaded with tender pieces of steak, jalapeños, pico, sour cream, and cheese sauce. The portion was HUGE and I was barely able to finish half of it, so, it would be great to share. Oh, and they have a salsa bar which was pretty cool!

Gotta have the chipotle shrimp burrito!!! All that’s in it is Mexican rice and chipotle shrimp. But there is something special about that chipotle sauce with the rice… And the shrimp was so fresh. It was the PERFECT night cap.

Pass by this place often, I work nearby and finally decided to stop in based off the Unilocal score. I ordered a carne asada burrito and 3 rolled tacos. The rolled tacos were really good and they use that guac with the sour cream which I really like. The carne asada burrito is a must order for me whenever I visit a new taco shop, if you can’t get that right then I won’t ever come back, it was really good as well, nothing to get too excited about but good enough to pick this spot over a overly crowded lolitas down the road.

Super cute hole in the wall type Mexican restaurant in the Clairemont area. Lots of options. Limited seating. Come here during non-peak hours or get it to-go. They have all the regular food options. Someone introduced me to the shrimp cocktail. It was extremely refreshing after working hard all day. It’s great for a summer treat and packed with shrimp and octopus.

I go here usually on taco Tuesdays for their small street tacos at $ 1.25 each. They offer tripas, cabeza, pollo, carne asada, buche, and fish tacos for that price. My favorite definitely has to be the tripe because they make it so deliciously crunchy! I’ve also had the nachos which were also really good considering they use nacho cheese in addition to the usual beans and guacamole. Unconventional for Mexican cuisine, but hey, I like it. The service here is great. Everyone is really nice but usually it’s a young lady who’s manning the cashier. She answered my questions about the menu and was super welcoming and attentive which is rare at taco shops. You generally go for the food and not the service at taco shops, but she was wonderful.

First Mexican restaurant I went to in San Diego cuz it was right down the street from my hotel and DAMN this place was bomb AF! My hubby ordered 4 soft pollo asada tacos and I got a California burrito. Total came out to $ 26 with a drink. So glad I’m back on the west coast. Can’t find anything like this back in the south that’s for damn sure. Highly recommend!

Tried this place for the first time last night. As fast-food taco shops go, this is the best I’ve been to in San Diego! The refried beans were exceptional. The rice was just okay — bland and generic. But the rolled tacos were delicious — not greasy. I got the«Mexican Guacamole», as oppsed to the«American Guacamole.» The Mexican has no sour cream in it — just avocado — and it is rich and delicious(50 cents more, but worth it.) My husband had«Combo No. 2»,(enchilada and chile relleno), and he especially like the enchilada ANDTHEBEANS! The place is tiny, so don’t come when it’s busy, except for take-out. Nice portions, helpful staff, and great food!

There’s nothing I haven’t liked about this place since they opened, what 15 years ago? I used to get the chicken diablo burrito all the time. Spicy hot enough to make my head sweat! Today I got the Chile Verde burrito. Muy delicioso. Warning: many of their burritos come«wet» so they are better eaten there instead of to go. To go would leave you with a bit of a mess by the time you got home. This place used to be a Taco Bell a billion years ago and I ate there only after drinking. Thanks Los Palmitos for giving a real food choice in the heart of suburbia.

Working on Governor off the 805, I don’t have too much food nearby. This time, I was craving some tacos on the Tuesday and ran across this little place Los Palmitos. Parking wasn’t difficult however this place is small! They had let’s say a medium lunch crowd and there are no tables available. So the Tuesday special here is $ 1.25 mini tacos of 7 varieties: fish, pollo asado, adovada(a variation of adobada), cabeza, buche, tripas and carnitas. DONE. This is exactly what I needed to satisfy my craving. I ordered the fish, pollo asado and the carnitas. Let me begin by saying that they do not skimp on filling these tacos. You’re getting great value. Fish — about 80% of the taco is the fish. Amazing. The batter is excellent and full of flavor. My criticism would be that it isn’t as balanced as I would like since there is less cabbage but at $ 1.25 I honestly DONTMIND. Pollo asado — the best taco of the three. The chicken has an amazing marinate and went great with the cilanto onion guac topping. Carnitas — It was a bit dry but still quite good. They didn’t skimp on the meat here either… There was a huge cube of it that I ate later because i couldn’t hold my taco properly with it. All in all, this place rocks. Especially on a Tuesday when I want a good cheap lunch of mini tacos. I’ll be back Los Palmitos.

I ordered a Cali Burrito. I was skeptical because it was my first time. I called in the order and in 10 minutes it was ready. I got a beans and rice combo and the food was very fresh. The meat inside the burrito was nice and hearty. No fat pieces. The fries were well done and almost crispy. Just the way a cali burr. should be. Guacamole was smooth and lumpy so it was real! The warm tortillas went well with the hot ingredients. Cleary the cooks and prep staff care about freshness. You can taste it in the food. Awesome experience and I will go again soon. They give Lolitas a run for their money for sure. And Las Palomitas is closer to my house. Makes it a homerun!

We discovered Los Palmitos one evening on Unilocal when we were craving Siete Mars soup. I must have driven past this place dozens of times in the past and never noticed it. I saw that it had great reviews on Unilocal and I wasn’t disapointed in the Siete Mars soup They took their time preparing it and the order was so large they served it in two large containers. The soup had a lot of delicious ingredients-fresh fish, crab, clams and squid. It took us two days to finish it!

On my way to Carmen’s taco shop for a late night dinner after work and I realized that they close early on Saturday’s. I was bummed but very happy to see this place off Clairemont Mesa and decided to give it a try instead. When you go inside this old taco bell building, you’ll notice the limited seating and their salsa bar( ) however there is a note up top saying the salsa bar is only for dine in and that you need to get your sauce from the cashier person. What a bummer, they sell half pints of their salsa for $ 1.85 though. I decided on a torta and some rolled tacos for takeaway and the food came out quickly. The carne asada torta( ) was quite large indeed, however it lacked flavor and ended up very soggy. The bread wasn’t too fresh tasting and wasn’t toasted correctly. The skirt steak(because it wasn’t carne asada) they used was alright, however they didn’t cut the meat up into acceptable chunks which made for some large bites of meat. There wasn’t much guac, cheese, or beans. The entire sandwich was basically just meat and lettuce, very disappointing torta. The saving grace for this review however was their rolled tacos( ) which comes with American guac unless you specify real guac, which is 50 cents extra(what a cheap place). The rolled tacos were delicious and had lots of toppings. The mix of lettuce, cheese, tomato and guac were refreshing with every bite. Their tacos were crispy, not soggy, and the chicken inside had lots of flavor. They were definitely really tasty rolled tacos. Another great item about this place was their habanero salsa( ) which was mighty spicy. I love spicy stuff, so this sauce hit the spot for me. This was really damn good stuff, perhaps some of my favorite taco shop hot sauce, it just really complemented the food very well. This place would have been stuck with two stars, if it wasn’t for the hot sauce. It’s disappointing to see how skimpy they were on their torta, and how cheap they are with their hot sauce, and the extra 50 cents for Mexican guac, it really makes you feel nickled and dimed when you walk out. As far as the taste of their food though, their food tasted pretty fresh, definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area though.

I got a supreme quesadilla(cheese quesadilla with a side of guacamole, pico, and sour cream). They weren’t stingy with their sides. I had enough left over. They also have us complimentary chips and cups for the salsa bar. Their salsa is yummy! My friend got a carne asada/shrimp burrito and she absolutely loved it. It was evenly mixed and they didn’t fill it all with rice! This large burrito wasn’t full of filler:) The place is small, but not unappealing. They also have seating outside (One thing they can improve, get better silverware! The plastic is too flimsy)
