This is really a hidden gem in Mission Hills. From the outside, it just looks like a regular liquor store, but they have a great deli inside. I understand that this is a family run operation, and an adorable lady named Fadiyeh made our sandwiches. She was so sweet and lovely to talk to. Oden (not sure of the spelling, sorry!) was also great to talk to, and we struck up a conversation as we were checking out. Then, while we were eating, a lady came in and mistook my dad for the owner, asking him «have you lost weight, you look different.» We cleared up the misunderstanding and all laughed, but the fact that a customer has that kind of repertoire with the owner tell you a lot about how the business is run. They are all a big family. Not to mention, the sandwiches were delicious. We will definitely be back.

What a great find. The wine selection is very good and reasonably priced. They also have a sandwich shop which is very good. Parking is so-​so, but you can probably sneak a few minutes at the dry cleaners next door if you know what you want.

This place is a great local store. The sandwiches are good except for the fake avacado. Sam has a good knowledge of wines and i love that he will share it with you. I’ve been coming here for years. And will be returning for years to come

This is one of my favorite «errands.» I love riding my bike to shop for wine, then home with a nice bottle in my basket. Last weekend I went in for a Rhone Valley-​style rosé and found exactly what I was looking for at a great price. The staff is friendly and great at making recommendations. The wine is well-​organized and it’s easy to find the prices, so you usually don’t have to ask. The finishing touch — they scrape the price sticker off the every bottle you buy! Love that!

This is the best store in the city. I have to say its more that a store. Sam and his family are simply put the most pleasant people you will come across. Everything about this place is done correctly. The sandwiches that he makes by hand for the neighborhood are wonderful and his wine knowledge is extensive. He also has a good selection of beers and you can always find a hidden gem. In fact I think that is what this place is a hidden gem!

I was waiting for my hair appointment next door and was looking for some coffee. Mission Hills Liquor had it all. From coffee, to sandwiches, to hot chocolate, to snacks, to a great selection of wine, beer, and champagne, this place had it all. They had Moet on sale for $ 35. You can’t be that. They are currently working on expanding the store to include wine tasting. I love this place. My place from now on to get my drinks.

Mission Hills Liquor Store has an extensive selection on wines from all over the world. Sam, the owner knows it all. Their Delicatessen has some of the best food that I ever tasted. The SAMwiches are very tasty and made to order, so every ingredient is always fresh.
Sam and Susie have more than just a Liquor Store, their place has all the charm and warmth of a real Home. You can just stop by for a nice bottle of wine and realize that you really enjoyed Sam and Susie conversation and friendly attitude

Maybe I am biased because Mission Hills Liquor is on West Lewis Street, but Sam is a genuine character and full of fun and life. Along with his wife Susie he takes charge of «his» corner of the world. Sam will welcome you, make you a sandwhich, help you choose an amazing wine, and even tell you if there is house for rent around the corner ! I can walk over to Mission Hills Liquor and have a good laugh, a bit of gossip and a great «Samwhich» …Mission Hils would not be the same without Mission Hills Liquor !

The best liquor and Sandwhich shop in Mission Hills.
Sam and his family who run the shop are awesome. I’ve been going here since I was a little kid, I would hit up the Liquour store every day after school.
The Turkey Feast and Club House Sandwhiches are amazing.
