Quick service by the slice. Ordered their pepperoni, hawaiian, and tomato/basil/mozzarella. Nothing that blew my mind, could have been the fact I ordered by the slice and nothing was fresh«fresh» out of the oven. Slices ranged from $ 3.25 to $ 4.25, which for the size of the slice wasn’t a steal. The slices were a normal home-size slice, not the oversized slices you usually get from an independent pizza shop. Not impressed, but it wasn’t bad. I’ll try out their tap list next time I’m around.

This Place has the best pizza in Ocean Beach… we have ordered here plenty of times so now I am finally get around into writing a review… I placed a pick up order for a large pie… half double pepperoni and supreme… they slices are huge… What I love about their pizza it’s thin crust .the sauce has a lot of flavor… overall it’s delicious…=)they do offer delivery to all residents in OB I believe but its in walking distance so we just walk over to pick it up. Its a local joint it gets pretty crowded… they do offer beer if you dine in …=) I cant wait to order here again when I head back to ocean beach…

Pizza tasted old and stale. They have a great selection of beer and if I come back it will be for the beer not the food.

Waited a long time to try this place as it does not deliver to my home. Was well worth the wait and the people my husband and I interacted with, via phone as well as pick up, were great. We called in about 30 minutes before closing time and I asked as a courtesy if they were still willing to make us a pizza or if they had a viable selection of vegetarian slices available. They were willing to accommodate making us a pie or two but they also has enough slices to make a whole pizza if we wanted and it would only be $ 12. We went for that option because I personally would be irritated so close to closing shop to have to make more pizzas, and it wasn’t a huge deal to us, AND this way we got to try 3 different flavors. They also asked if we wanted them heated up, again I declined because I actually prefer cold pizza once in awhile and as nice as they were being I wanted to be able to return the favor by not adding more work to their plates. My husband was there and back in about 15 minutes and reported that he had excellent service and the pizza was looking pretty appetizing. I was so hungry and impaired by my medications that I just wanted to go t-Rex on the as is slices. I have to say, honestly I hate Luke warm anything, but this pizza held up! The sauce wasn’t too sweet, the crust was appropriately crunchy and then chewy in the right places, and the basic b cheese, the Hoff, and another basic b vegetable all had good flavors and were seemingly fresh and of good quality ingredients. I definitely look forward to checking this place out first hand, as well as having some super fresh pizza.

Newport has better pizza than Pizza Port in my opinion but not as great as a beer selection(obviously). Better location as well since it’s sandwiched between two popular businesses.

This place has become a regular spot for me. Pizza is good, beer selection is always exceptional and rotating, and the service is amazing. It’s a place where everyone knows your name and is friendly. Literally the best craft beer selection in OB, hands down. I love that you have the option to get beer in a variety of sizes, so you can enjoy the selection without overdoing it. This is a can’t miss experience.

For food this place fcking sucks. One of the worst pizzas you could buy. The beer is nice and service is decent.

The ‘za this place serves is really freaking dank. Honestly — the crust is perfectly crispy, the tomato sauce is slightly sweet and may be the single best ingredient that makes the pizza… the dough isn’t too thick but tastes like a pretzel. Fully recommend it if you want a flavorful and texturally sophisticated slice of pizza.

I like this spot for its just walk up and grab a slice. They also have pretty great beer selection in there as well as small little patio. Their slices usually the typical pizza almost like a flat bread though, hard to explain. If you’re up late and cruising down Newport Ave in OB it’ll be one of the only places open that has great food. I recommend definitely stumbling in here whether you’re drunk or not! Can get kinda crowded sometimes so be ready to hunt for a table or stand in a small line.

I just waited 20 minutes for 2 slices of pizza that cost $ 4 each. I used to like this place so I paid anyway but $ 4 a slice is stupid. And the slices have gotten smaller then they used to be with quality going downhill. What is happening with his place? Same thing with all of ocean beach it seems like selling out to rich people and tourists… that’s a shame OB is loosing its authenticity because of places like Newport pizza and ale selling out. You suck. Justin

This is where our family always orders their pizza. The Happy Hippie is our favorite, but all of the pizzas are good. We live in OB so we are lucky enough to be able to have them deliver. When we do eat at the restaurant, the staff is so friendly and the patrons are great. Now I’m hungry for pizza…

Good thin-crust pizza and a great beer list. The crust is thin, crispy, and the slices are big. The less than great ambiance(IMO) is what keeps me NOT coming back for more. This place is great to grab a piece of pizza to go, but I hate the bar atmosphere of this restaurant. I just don’t ever feel relaxed here, which is a big turn off.

The thing I like about this place is it reminds me of a casual North East pizza-by-the-slice place… but it’s steps away from the beach in San Diego. And in that case, what more could you want? I was brought here by friends who went to college in the area, and it was an old favorite of theirs. They told me the same woman who’s been flipping pizzas for years was still back there putting pizzas in the oven. People were coming in and out the whole time orderings slices and pies. The pizza is thing crust and they have a variety out at a time… personally I love a classic cheese or pepperoni, and the brews on tap here paired well(I also couldn’t help but eye the brew fest stickers everywhere… I guess that’s a different tory for a different time.) I recommend this place for a slice… stop by before going to the beach or hang out all day!

High quality great little pizza place. We went here for brunch on New Year’s Day. Thankfully they were open! The woman in the kitchen was very expertly tossing the dough to make the perfect crust, it was pretty amazing to see. We ordered a Hulk and a Cheese. I would say the best way to describe this place is a similar style to Pizza My Heart, but the quality was much better!

My favorite pizza spot in SD by far! This hidden hem has some of the best pizza I’ve had in a while, as well as having a great tap list, this location offers ample seating and an outdoor patio for dogs, which is great coming from the dog beach. I would definitely go out of my way to come here if I had a hankering. Most of the time I’ll come in the summer and then take the pups wth. Then go to lighthouse for a puppy ice cream after! Check it out if you haven’t yet

Loved this place! Never have stopped in here before when roaming around OB but we were hungry and not feeling a traditional restaurant last week so stopped in. We each ordered a slice and were stunned at how good it was. Not sure why we expected it not to be good but figured it would just be average like some others in SD but we were wrong. We ordered a half order of the cheese sticks and they were phenomenal. We were expecting the typical fried cheese sticks like you get at a Friday’s but these things were half a pizza basically of cheese on dough… they were great! What made the experience great was the lady working the pizza. She gave us the whole order of cheese sticks instead of a half at no charge. We ended up eating what we could and gave over half to some homeless hippies on the beach so it all worked out the way it should. Great place and worth checking out. Definitely will be back when at OB.

The food was good. The service was horrible. Long story short they suck at customer service. Even if you tip extraordinary!!! 4 bucks on 8. Then 3 for the mess up, and still no recognition. Sad cause I’m in the industry. Hence 7 on an 8 $ tab…

If you’re fishing on the pier and didn’t have enough time to get a bite, come to Newport Pizza! They’re about 1 minute from the actual pier and closes at midnight. They sell individual slices for ?? or whole pizzas for about 21 $. I called in at 10:30 pm because my fishing buddies and I were starving, and the order was ready in under 20 minutes. Excellent and friendly service(helped from the bar cashier). We got the meat lover’s pizza and it was delish. Approx 18″ in diameter with a crispy bottom. The pizza is thin, but I think that was the reason it kept well on the half mile walk way back to the end of the pier. Still crispy when we dug in! The sauce was not too sweet and very tangy. I couldn’t tell if the pizza was amazing or I was just starving, but it felt like both. I would definitely return on the next pier adventure.

I ordered pizza last night. Both slices were horrible. One had toppings on only half the slice. If I had just wanted crust, I would have asked for a slice of pizza crust. The other was dead. How is a slice of pizza dead you might ask? Go get a slice of pizza and put it in the fridge overnight. Reheat it in the oven. Don’t eat it yet. Put it back in the fridge. Now reheat it again… see how it is all dried out and there isn’t one fresh topping on it anymore? That’s what my slice of pizza looked like. Everything on that pizza was old and gross.

Now THIS is the pizza I’ve been looking for! It’s been years since I’ve had pizza this good(I think I’ve only had it in NY). We walked by this place and it smelled so good. I loved that they served a variety of really eclectic beers and I tried one(can’t remember it off the top of my head but we asked which one tasted most like Stella Artois) and the recommended one they gave to us was delicious — I may say even better than Stella. Next, the pizza… let’s talk about the pizza. This pizza was perfection. I ordered a couple slices of margherita pizza and the bottom of it was so crispy and the rest was so delicious — not greasy and floppy like the pizza here in Rhode Island but literally perfect. I am now hungry and want both the pizza and the beer. Ah! What to do? Must fly back to San Diego immediately. On that note, can’t wait to return and pig out yet again on this worthy pizza joint.

First time here. Got into town late and this was one of the few places open, and one of even fewer places still serving food at almost 1am in OB. That being said, they had a good beer selection. About 15+ beers on tap and great bottle selections as well. I did a Fin Du Monde which is one of my favorite beers. Despite the line behind us, the bartender took the time to hunt down a glass that was made for this style of beer. I appreciated the attention to detail and to the customer. For food, I went with a Classic pepperoni which did not disappoint. My GF went with a healthier option with artichoke and red peppers and was pleasantly surprised as well. We would definitely come back here. Recommend!

You wouldn’t be able to know it from looking at the Pizza, but they are very light and crispy. They have various type of pizza, my favorites are the Happy Hippie and Donald Trump. You can ask them for ranch and Peperoncino on the side. They are dog friendly, which is convenient since they are adjacent to the dog beach. Happy hour is from 3 – 6PM everyday.

Been going to Newport Pizza for a long time. Things don’t change much here. The pizza is pretty good, nothing super special about it. They have some decent beers on tap usually. The service is pretty flawless and consistent. There’s really nothing out of this world about Newport Pizza, there’s also nothing really wrong with it either. They have a system down that works. Tip– you can take your slices to the nearby bars to eat like Sunshine Company or Gallaghers

Pizza and beer close to the beach at late hours, great combination. I came here after a competing pizza and beer joint gave up on us with last call, and we were able to transition into a chill, good conversation, good pizza and inexpensive good beer night. This time it was our choice to leave and the place was still popping. Kudos! This place has their ambiance and their hours going for them.

Buying pizza by the slice can be risky, especially if you do not know how long the pizza has been sitting in its cozy container. I stopped in and order a couple of slices and I will admit that the slices looked kinda hurting, but one came tasted great and the other, well meh. The Marguerite Slice was very good. It could of used more cheese, but the flavor was there and the crust was a nice thin crispiness with a relatively good moistness. The garlic and basil flavors were mild but just right. A good slice but it just needed more cheese please. The pesto slice with vegetables was not so happening. First of all, the sun dried tomatoes were so chewy and dry, that I was not able to eat them, and the crust was dry. This slice too needed more cheese and the artichokes had seen better days. The pesto flavor was mild and quite nice. On second thought, they should of thrown this pizza out and started a new one. The place is quite noisy during peek hours, and the employees were in high spirits and given the mix crowd that visit this place on a daily basis, they almost need to be. In hind sight, next time I’ll wait or ask for the recently baked pies.

Great brews. Good names for their pizzas. Friendly people. Great service. TV’s for sports, and of course, I got a t-shirt. Please get some more brews from Firestone Walker if and when you get the chance. Though I am thoroughly satisfied with the rotating handles, there’s nothing better than a fine craft beer from Firestone Walker… I Guarantee. The«Donald Trump» is my fave slice.

Thought the pizza was fantastic! Reminded me of pizza from back east! The reason for the low rating is because the bartender/server was so rude(not just to me). This is a shame because I enjoyed the pizza. Pizza = :) so I would prefer the person serving it to be a tad more pleasant. I understand getting frustrated with the drunk crowd, but it was 10pm so the crowd was mixed. She was cursing and yelling get the F out to some drunk boys who were eating. She was even nasty to me when I ordered, I felt so uncomfortable.
