Small place with great California breakfast burrito, Veggie Burrito and cheese fries. I personally love their hot sauces, cut carrots and onions. Just love ‘em! There is a shell gas station right in front of it, a shell store right next to it. Its a great pit stop place. Check it out!.

I don’t get anything else on the menu besides the breakfast burritos so the 5 stars might not be a good representation of everything else, but I am a regular for these breakfast burritos! They’re soooo goood and only $ 4.75! Pretty decent size too

Think«Mexican food made for customers who will never return». I had«The chorizo plate». It was tasteless. Maybe I got«the bad menu item» — or maybe it’s all that way. If you screw up chorizo and eggs, you’ve got major problems. I would avoid this food if it were free. I will never return.

1 star is an overstatement. Had the worst Cali burrito today ever! Will not be coming here again. Many other taco shops to choose from in the area.

This place sucks!!! Food is pricey and the customer service is poor. They don’t leave salsa containers out, they hand you a couple to fill with your order. Gues they don’t want people having to much salsa, cheap and it shows. Carne Asada burrito has NO Guacomole!!! I think they mix very little avocado with a lot of their pico de gallo, again cheap and it shows!!! This is the third and last time I go here!!! Don’t go to this place, it’s terrble!!! Go to Habenero’s, way better food and it’s in the next parking lot.

Chorizo burrito was a tiny lil pinner w/tasty ingredients. Biggest problem was the super grouchy kid working the counter who was apparently pissed off to have a job. I hate that. Don’t waste your money here

I have eaten here a few times. I always get the veggie burrito, and one time i had the breakfast burrito. The burritos here are good. They are definitely filling and taste fresh. The staff seems nice enough, however they don’t really talk to their customers other than to order. The place looked clean when I was in there last. The business definitely has a lot of room for improvement but at least they make a good burrito!

I paid $ 9 for a small amount of carne asada fries but I was starving and it had to do Limited parking since it is right next to a gas station. I love how it has indoor seating. Would I be back? No

Went in the morning order 5 rolled tacos with guacamole, cheese and sour cream. Got to work 15 minutes later to find out I was charged for sour cream but they forgot to put it on. I called to inform them and their solution was to either have me drive all the way back and waste gas to pick it up immediately or pick it up another day. Instead of taking ownership and righting a wrong by offering to refund me my money, they want me to go out of my way and waste more gas and time to just pick it up.

We came here for the first time the other day. Overall it was just alright. My wife had the enchiladas, she was not impressed and only ate half. I had a California burrito, the tortilla was great but the fillings were just marginal. Overall I don’t think I would come back to this one. I would say it is better than habaneros but not as good as Armandos.

Came here for the first time yesterday and LOVED my carne asada tacos! The red sauce and green cilantro cucumber sauce are both soooo good! This place is definitely a little hole in the wall but I would definitely give it a chance! The burrito my bf got was good but nothing special… Go for the tacos!!! And add sour cream!!! Sooo tasty!

Wish I could give –5 stars! Went here on the moring of CINCODEMAYO. Staff was an hour late. The cook looked pissed too. The cook and the cashier were talking in spanish, the cook had some sort of gripe about something, and stormed out of the restaurant, left the food in the frier and grill. He came back minutes later, and was fussing something in spanish, and was slamming the food around. *SLAM* *SLAM* *SLAM* Bought 2 burritos; Machaca and Fish. Meat was salty and tasted old/stale, the eggs were barely scrambled, tortilla was flaky and falling apart(very lazy cooking)! Fish Burrito: Fish was over fried, barely any veggies and NO sauce, and again, the tortilla was flaky and falling apart! I expected better, especially on a mexican-american holiday! NEVEREVERGOINGHEREAGAIN!!!

Unilocalers can be tough! This place is totally decent standard taco shop fare. I live to eat California burritos(no cheese, add pico, add sour cream) and theirs was as good or better than any other taco shop in Mira Mesa. The best part for me is that I really like the red semi-watery hot sauce that most Roberto’s have. I know everyone loves the orange style hot sauce that’s found everywhere, but if you’re down with the classic taco shop style then I recommend this spot.

Some hits, some misses. The crispy chicken taco was ok. The shell was freshly fried. But was one of those ones you can buy at the grocery store. The chicken was on the bland side. The fish taco was ok as well. The breading on the fish was thick. The breading was very different from the normal fish taco — it has a mealy taste to it. The bean and cheese burrito was good. The flour tortilla was fresh and delicious. Not amazing but solid. The grilled chicken burrito was pretty good. It had grilled chicken, peppers and onions with a little bit of guacamole. They have a few salsas to choose from: 2 red and one green, no chunky /pico de gallo varieties. Nothing stood out to me. And no chips with any meal :( The carrots at the salsa bar are superb. Spicy without being too spicy. Delicious! It’s a tiny hole in the wall taco shop but a good place to grab some food to-go. Occasionally it reeks of gas inside so I wouldn’t recommend eating there.

Roberto’s at the Shell has now been in business around 5 months. And check the hours — it closes at 6PM on Saturday. This is weird and very unfortunate — the gas station is still open after 6PM on Saturday while the Roberto’s it contains is closed. This must be some kind of Roberto’s Jr or Roberto’s Express concept that’s being tested. Oh well, back to Cotixan which is open 7⁄24.

You can kill 2 birds with one stone. Fill up your gas tank, clean you car and grab some Mexican food all within a walking distance. I live in central Mira Mesa and I don’t feel like driving too far after a long day at work. So I get my carne asada fix here at Roberto’s.

So, this place is kinda hard to spot from the street. It’s next to, or more like, adjoined with the Shell gas station. They do have 2 separate entrances though. They do not have a descriptive menu here, so if you’re picky or allergic, make sure you ask the cashier what food items come included with your meal. For example, I ordered the shredded beef burrito and my bf ordered the spicy adobada burrito. My burrito was kinda like a fajita mix because there were bell peppers and onions inside. My bf’s burrito had guacamole inside. None of this is stated on the menu. The prices here are AWESOME. Our two burritos cost us a little over $ 10. Oh, and this place is clean, has a fair amount of seating, and has movies playing on their TV screen. Perfect little lunch stop! I also LOVED the burrito tortilla! It was sightly crisply but still doughy… zomg, it was so delicious. The only thing that irked me was that my burrito was extremely juicy. It was very hard to eat and I was making a mess. Nobody likes a leaky burrito! It tasted good, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. You shouldn’t need 40 pieces of napkins to eat one burrito!

I was kinda sad to see Los Primos go, but when I heard that Roberto’s was opening in its place, I was a bit apprehensive. I wasn’t a fan of their former location in Mira Mesa, but when they opened today, I had to check it out. I ordered the chips and guacamole… and I was surprised at how it turned out. These chips actually had a nice crunch, and there was plenty of guacamole to go around(needs some pico de gallo mixed in, though). Plenty of clean tables inside, but the soda machine’s offerings need to be updated(scratching out the label with pen and writing the actual flavor screams«ghetto» in my book). Also, the salsa bar isn’t fully set up, there’s no free hot carrots, and the menu could use some descriptions of their items. Still, this place has some potential.
