Food is very delicious adana kabab and konafa. But the owner is rude he treats customers as a sh***. I recommended to be to go only.

It is the first I walk in to this restraunt for some desert and never was assisted in the begging after five minutes of standing a gentle men approached me to have a seat any where I want. I sat on a table and for 10 minutes never got help. The reason I decide to give this place three stars is because their food turned out good and their server was able to bring us the food on the table in a timely manner. I would probably come back to this location as long as they can get someone to seat us very quick next time because I loved their desserts

Parked in horton plaza and came across this place by accident. Decided to give it a try, i was beyond impressed! The food was so good and our waitress was so friendly. This was definitely some of the best Mediterranean cuisine ive had. I will definitely be back!

My sister and I came here for New Years! FOOD: 34. Adana Kebab(beef)-$ 12 40. Tavuk Sis(chicken)-$ 13 The Food was really good! All the Kebab dishes come with rice, salad, and some really tasty yogurt sauce. The Kebab was juicy and not chewy. The chicken was nicely grilled. PORTIONS: Pretty good portions. There was one skewer of meat so might be a little less for some people. I wish I’d substituted some of the salad with more rice. SEATING: Its a clean, casual café style restaraunt. SERVICE: The people were very nice and friendly.

Our server was the worst. His name was Engin and he was so rude. I come here all the time and he has the nerve to go to walk away from our table and go to the hostess and say«you sat me with these people? Are you kidding me? They are just getting dessert» after he got our order. He didn’t know we were Turkish and we could understand the language fluently. We spoke to the owners daughter and told her what happened and she apologized. Engin was so rude. I work downtown in hospitality and I swear I’m never coming back here again and making sure no one else does. Worst customer service ever!!!

Visiting from the Bay Area, my family and I were looking for a place to eat on a Saturday night and thanks to Unilocal we had a wonderful dinner. Ambiance:(3⁄5) the paintings on the walls are very nice and the rest of the décor gives the place a warm authentic feel. As for the atmosphere, it feels very busy and gets a bit loud with so many servers flitting left and right. Service:(4⁄5) we came in on a Saturday night so as you would expect it was pretty packed but my family of 5 didn’t have to wait long before getting seated so that was good. Our waitress was very friendly and personable as she explained to us the choices on the menu and gave us recommendations. A bit slow with clearing the table and getting the check. Food:(5⁄5) each person in my family tried a different dish and all of us were more than satisfied by the end of the meal. The portions are very generous and the baklava is a must try! In general, my dad and sister are wary of desserts because they detest over-sweet sugary carb filled junk, but they fell in love with the baklava here. So if you fit the description above, maybe try some and be pleasantly surprised.

Nice Turkish place. Only problem is spices were not hot enough for me. So the kabobs felt bland but I eat hot food. Recommend: get one kebab dish with extra skewer or kebab for two people. Ambiance: casual Service: quick No of people: 2 Order: $ 5 Hummus with Turkish bread $ 13 Chicken kebab with rice $ 13+$ 6 Chicken and extra beef kebob added with rice $ 1 Tea Total: $ 45

Great service, best Mediterranean food. There is no place like this. This place must be in your list to visit. Everything is fresh, kebabs are amazing, hummus is the best, lahmacun(lahmajun) is amazing. My favorite is Iskender. Owner is always there, very friendly and makes sure everything is prepared traditionally .5 star. Make sure this place is on your list to visit . I have been coming to this restaurant since they open last year Christmas time, we are regular been here almost 10 times.

Six stars for the lahmacun, which is a thin crust pizza topped with minced meat. Six stars for the kunefe, which is an amazing sweet cheese that is drizzled with syrup and topped with golden crunchies and pistachio crumbles. The lahmacun is so crunchy and satisfying. The kunefe is the stuff of dreams. It is seriously addicting. I’m also a fan of the lentil soup. Unfortunately, the falafel is so-so and lamb kebab was on the dry side. Baklava is ok – we prefer Baklava King.

My girlfriend recommended me this restaurant. The waitresses and stuf friendly. The food is amazing for sure. The only thing is pretty busy and a lot of people at this place. I liked their chicken kebab and shrimp salad!

Came super hungry after a movie on Sunday night at 10pm when all the bar kitchens were closed. The #40 chicken kebab plate with rice, romaine lettuce, cucumber yogurt and tomatoes was delicious — I loved the seasoning on the rice. Got the pistachio baklava for dessert and had to order a second — delicious.

Second time here in only a few days. The baklava is amazing, but you have to save room from your appetizers and main course for it! I’m going to limit my review to just the baklava for a couple reasons: 1) there’s already a lot of information about the food which is awesome and generous in portion. 2) I’ve had all of the types of baklava that were available the last time I was here a couple days ago. Date, fig, chocolate, pistachio, walnut, almond, cashew. All were amazing but the ones that stuck out to me were pistachio and date. The types of baklava seem to change, in some cases mixing two together like pistachio and chocolate(squee!). Each baklava is a sizable piece about 2“x2″, and if you’re going to tackle all of the flavor a be sure to bring a friend!

We came here for lunch on Black Friday. The afternoon atmosphere was very comfortable and laid back; the perfect chill spot after a day of Black Friday shopping. Service was very friendly. Our server was kind and offered great suggestions. We all ordered the number #40 Tavuk Sis which came with basmati rice, salad, yogurt sauce(zatziki). Portion to price = excellent! The food was SO good — I should’ve licked my plate clean. Sultan please make your way to North County. We would welcome you with open arms! I can’t wait to return!

I ordered for pick up and got the veggie combo plate. It came with hummus, baba ghanouj, cacik yogurt sauce, tabbouli, coban salatasi salad, patlican salatasi. I also ordered a lentil soup. The veggie combo was good but small for the price. Everything came all piled into one to go dish so they were all mixed into each other, I wish it came with falafel too :(The part that disappointed me the most was the bread served with my veggie combo. Instead of pita bread I received a giant flour tortilla! What the f#$@… Lol yeah I ended up making a burrito out of everything which was not what I was craving. The soup wasn’t very good. It was plain and gritty in texture, with no flavor, not authentic. I won’t be back. I’d rather go to Kabob Shop, which is way cheaper and tastier from a veggie head’s perspective and they have just as many vegetarian salads and options. I’m sure most people only come here for the meat dishes… lol

Best lunch spot in the Gaslamp Visited here for the first time on a rainy Monday and it brought so much sunshine to my day Mel the server is right on the money! She is perfect in everyway. Excellent customer service skills Food is absolutely delicious The chicken kabob is perfect The lamb and eggplant dish is delightful Great lentils soup and the best yogurt in town! And the baklava for dessert. Melts my heart! Sign me up everyday for that. Can’t wait to be back for another great lunch or dinner.

Haven’t had to walk out from a restaurant for a while, so they get special consideration for that. One, you seat us at a table that hasn’t been cleaned. Water on the table, food on the seats, sticky surfaces. Two, you ignore us for almost ten minutes when there are exactly two other occupied tables in the joint. Three. Well, no. They only got those two strikes. It’s too late, I’m too hungry and far too impatient to wait around to see if we’d even be acknowledged, much less served. We tried. We gave it a shot. But never again. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

Desserts desserts desserts: I’m a huge fan of their pistachio/chocolate pistachio baklava and kunefe(with tea) We came here just to eat desserts this time and I had stuffed myself with so much italian food I didn’t think I was up for it. I was wrong. The kunefe was so good, and with all my might I enjoyed every bit of that half I shared with tea. They bring sugar for the tea, but the tea is just good to balance out the sweetness from the syrup in the kunefe. And on my 3rd experience with the kunefe, there’s finally pistacho pieces on it!!! I took a pistachio baklava to go, and there is a huge crunch upon the bite after taking it out of the fridge after a night!!!

This is by far one of the best Turkish restaurants in town. Most spots only serve doners or shawarmas so if you’re looking for a much more extensive menu, look no further. We were at a lost of what to order since everything in the menu looked so damn tasty and opted for their 4 person feast combo! Not only did it come with 4 different types of meats but it was loaded with plenty of rice, bread, humus and veggies. Our waitress was nice enough to hook us up with a huge plate of tzatziki sauce(the dishes aren’t complete without it). Portions are massive and you’ll be quite stuffed by the time you’re digging in for the last couple bites. And even if you’re stuffed, be sure to end your meal with a tasty baklava(there’s always room for dessert). I recommend the pistachio baklava! It’s not overly sweet and will give you the nice finishing touch to your meal. They’re located right on the side of Horton Plaza off 4th(they took over the Sammy’s that was previously here). Don’t forget to get your parking ticket validated as you get 3 hours of free parking. Just be sure to leave by 9:30pm so you don’t get charged.

Einfach tipptopp!!!
