Went here last night for a friends 30th Birthday where they rented out the main hall. Good size room and the ping pong table seemed to be a hit:) It’s connected to the bar and the drinks were a deal. The bathrooms were really clean which is really nice bc most bars… Not so much!;)

La Jolla, CA
We were invited to meet a friend here for a drink a couple of weeks ago. Upon entering all we could hear was laughing and loud talking. It takes your eyes a while to adjust to the dim light. Once adjusted we found our friend and order drinks. Hell-​0 Cheap drinks. (and strong too!)
We were greeted by about 15 people introducing themselves, shaking hands, giving us hugs and even buying us drinks! We met a bunch of genuine people hanging out at the VFW.
Turns out my husbands grandfather was in WWI and we can join the VFW! We’ve got the paper work and soon we’ll be hanging at the VFW with all the fun guys and gals we met there. YAY.

Great place for an affordable drink. Veterans, SAL and Ladies Aux are membership requirements, but anyone can host a part there. Up to 100 folks. Great food, comraderie and jokes. Drop on by.

I love this VFW. My squadron uses this VFW for social functions, and I recently threw a party here. They let me bring my own food and use their chairs, tables, and AV equipment. All I paid them for was for the drinks, and they are CHEAP! $ 2.50 for domestic beer, $ 3 for imports and well drinks. Jerry and Mary are both very friendly and helpful, and even waived the $ 100 fee because I agreed to clean up myself afterwards.
Of course, you have to be a member or know someone who is a member here, but once they get to know you, you are always welcome. You can’t beat the location, either… only a few blocks from the PB beaches.

The VFW in PB is probably the best place to host/​attend a party. To become a member you must have a grandparent who is a VFW, pay your dues and volunteer your time here and there. It’s a great place for theme parties with pla-​enty of space to get your dance on. The bar is a step down and off to the side from the main room and the drinks a floweth. I have three words: Cheap, strong and yummy. Cheap as in $ 1.75 for a vodka coke which is generally vodka. So strong that you might have to go back for more coke half way through. I said MIGHT. And yummy as in yummy drinks and food if you’re lucky to attend a birthday party with snacks and cake. If you’re going, let me know if I can join you.
